Direct Ctd On Jupiter Defense; Infestation And Corpus (Gas City)

I've been trying to gather up some Neural Sensors lately, so went to do some Jupiter Dark Sector Defense. After Wave 5, around when the Mutalists started spawning, I started crashing right to desktop at seemingly random times. There was usually no warning, the game would just close and the crash report popup would appear. Several other times, the game would freeze visually but the audio would continue normal in the background for a few moments, then would unfreeze and crash to desktop again.

 

My assumption was that this was a result of the Mutalists, (blamed something to do with the Tar pits), but I just attempted a non-Dark Sector node and experienced the same result starting at around Wave 10. 

 

For the record, i'm playing Chroma with electric elementals, I have PhysX particles enabled, and this was the tile in question;
