I have no idea what the white borders around a mission mean. I'm still new to this game, and while the wiki has been helpful there are some questions it's just not answering. Once you clear a node the ones next ot it, be it left, right, up or down will be avilable. You can choose which ones to make and thus prgress the way you find the most comfortable.
