Difficulty Level Of A Mission

Question

I take the enemy level when clicking on a mission as an indication of its difficulty, however, when it starts it also displays a difficulty level (1 to 5, from what I know). What does that number mean?

I am also wondering what this is, my guess it's something to do with:

1. Quantity of the enemies
2. The level range of the enemies (eg. if it says the mission has a level range of 16-22, and it's difficulty 5, the enemies will be mostly 20-22?)

Just speculation. I'm sure someone probably knows more than me.

The way I understand it, is that the level is determined on the total level of all your own equipment (warframe, rifle/shotgun, pistol, and melee weapon) making the max player 'level' 120, and to me it make sense because you have higher firepower, and defense.

However im not sure how supercharging (orokin catalyst, and reactors) factor into this, as they double your mod limit on the item but not its level, i suppose in some way that 'could' double your potential level to 240.. but who knows.

Level difficulty on the loading screen is enemy density.

1 - few mobs per room.

5 - mobs in bigger groups

Thanks. I never thought it would mean that. It should be documented anywhere...
