Latency Issues With Multiple Enemies While Hosting

First time I've posted on the forums. How you guys doing?

 

Anyway, so I'm new to the game so I'm getting pretty far in the game. I'm pretty much to the point as to where there's ton of enemies all at once. The problem with this is when hosting, my ping skyrockets when dealing with tons of enemies such as defense missions. Now I don't have the greatest internet connection but this doesn't make sense to me.

 

When starting a mission, my ping stays relatively normal, but as the mission progresses, it gets hard for others with me to play efficiently.

One thing to note is that the networking portion of the game is not currently threaded. This means that all of the networking portions are tied directly to and influence your local performance. Thus the more enemies on the map the more information your game has to send to your allies and thus the impact on your performance is greater and therefore your game sends less updates out and your allies lag. It's a vicious compound problem independent of your connection speed.

The good news is that they are working on a fix for this issue as we speak.
