Am I Missing Something, Or Is Critical Chance Maths Dodgy?

Firstly, I luuuurve this game, it's awesome, and it's really great to see the devs putting holes in the ceiling on the new maps (It's the little things"

What I'm not sure about is the "critical chance mod"

I'm guessing that the critical chance is the % chance each shot has of giving critical damage rather than normal damage.

If so, how come there is an option to go higher than 100%. Surely 100% critical chance means every shot will give critical damage?

So is it the maths, or am I missing something?

it's +X% not crit chance = X%

A +100% crit chance mod simply doubles the crit chance.

Like the guy said above..

Take for instance..

Braton Vandal..it has a 7.5% chance for a critical chance..

So the max for primary weapons is +120% i think..

So its 7.5% * 120% = 16.5 % chance for a critical.. ^^

crit chance, another almost useless mod.

 

Nyeh... I wouldn't say that.

 

Weapons like twin vipers with 15% crit chance (And some are better than that, like the old snipetron) can really benefit from the increased crit chance.

 

That said, other weapons with only a couple % crit chance cannot make use of it, but that's where the hardcore theorycrafting comes in.
