They usually call each separate series like Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Unlimited Blade Work and etc. It's about pass reincarnations of legends to fight to the death in our timeline. To have a wish granted. It's basically a royal rumble to the death.Edit: The reincarnations usually have mages to give mana, so they can stay in metrial world. And these incarnation are usually broken up into several different classes. That have they own style in combat. Edit 2: Its a really interesting anime. It talks about what means to be hero, what kings should be. How mankind can blineded by their own kindness. It brings up alot of interesting discussion. Even then when watching the show. They isn't really bad or good guy. It's up to viewer on what they see, and have to think for themselves.
