Saying "what mods are good for me" isn't as descriptive as you might think. Warframe mods are entirely distinct from primary mods, which are distinct from secondary weapon mods, and so on.

For warframes, there are bread-and-butter staples, like power duration, power strength, power efficiency, energy max, etc. Different frames will use different ones but it won't hurt to have them around. You should accumulate them slowly as you play though. I suggest you figure out what build you want and make sure you have mods to support it. The Wiki is your friend here

For projectile weapons, there are some fundamentals as well. Increase in overall damage and multishot are core mods on almost every weapon. Split chamber (for primary weapons) can be tricky to come by sometimes. Serration (for damage) is easier to find. After that, you want to round out your elemental options and from there it varies by weapon.

Melee weapons are different again. Increased damage is always good and you'll want a good stance mod for your preferred weapon. Elemental mods are likewise good. After that it varies more with the weapon type.

In general, the wiki is your friend and a good first stop. Aside from the types of mods, you'll also want to make sure they're ranked up.

Once you've gotten your regular mod base tuned up with all the base damage and elemental mods for weapons and all the mods for buffing warframe abilities, then it's time to branch out.

Start doing nightmare missions for NM mods.

Start running derelict missions for corrupted mods.

Start running the moon puzzles for drift mods.

Redirection and vitality mods are extremely beneficial, I would focus on upgrading those which will help you survive longer in higher tier content, flow is a great one as well plus continuity and intensify which will give you more energy and longer duration while also hitting harder.
