Unable To Gain Standing With Cephalon Simaris With Sigil

I've been having an issue with being unable to gain standing with Cephalon Simaris through wearing sigil. I made sure to check my daily maximum standing available to gain through Cephalon and even though it says that I haven't used any that day I am unable to gain any just through wearing the sigil. This problem has been happening since about 2 days after I got it (I'm gunna guess like 2 or so months ago.) I also tried it without any other sigils on.

The sigil from Cephalon Simaris is just cosmetic. To gain standing with him you have to scan enemies with the syntheses scanner.

 

Syntheses targets give a lot of standing, there are 5-6 community targets you can select on the console to his left or a daily target you can obtain by talking to him directly.

Ok thanks you guys I just assumed that being that you had to buy the Sigil from the syndicate that you would gain standing. Woops!!!
