Download corrupted

So, I am trying to get my girlfriend to hop on the warframe boat and she agreed to download the game (for the first time) but when she did go and download the launcher open it and set to download, it said download corrupted. Now I know this is a common problem players face later on in the game after they've downloaded, but never at the start that I have seen. Could I possibly get some help on this? (Also she isnt downloading using steam, she is using just the base launcher)

you install via steam or via website ?

Have you tried varifying and optimising the data? 

This can be done by going into the launcher, then select settings (gear icon) and clicking verify and clicking optimise

I had her send me a photo of her settings and she has DirectX 11, but she can only check direct x 10 but I feel like that wouldnt affect the download

That may also be a cause, but I'm not certain that my advice on this would be accurate now. I'll need to get home for that. Maybe another Tenno can help you out, otherwise the Warframe Support Tennos will be very skillful as well (support.warframe.com)

I had her install via steam and it worked for her.
