When I went to do a Rank Up trial it equipped my Aklato pistols for the primary weapon challenge. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

I had to abort the challenge and wait 24 hours because I wanted to do the challenges the way the game intended (with the proper weapons). Maybe the Aklato count as primaries or something? No idea. I'm just wondering if this is a glitch or intentional in some way. I couldn't find any record of this problem on Google and I'm hoping it doesn't happen next time and force me to wait 24 hours again.

Your answer led me to the wiki page for Mastery Rank where I found that it says the Rank 1 challenge (the one I'm on) is bugged and uses your secondary instead of your primary. I didn't find that in my Google search, so thanks! Question solved, hopefully this bug will be fixed soon or else I'll have to just finish it as is.
