Basic Guide to Limbo (New Spy Lord)

Hi Newborn Tennos,

As we all know, the gentleman warframe was based off / inspired from a comic book thief character. I'm glad to see that DE is slowly fixing the rift mechanic from auras, traps, etc. Now, Limbo is well suited for any mission I come across, especially in Spy mission. For newbies, you might see that invisible warframes are the best ones to use in it. But not anymore, Limbo is great against any Spy tileset too (including the new moon spy!).

He might not have enough ability damage, but if you give him the correct arsenals, then you got yourself a very elusive warframe -- he bypasses lasers, frozen tiles, death orbs, etc. Do take in note that you are not invisible, only intangible, can be seen by sentries and camera lasers, which can easily trigger the alarm. His intangibility also applies to items -- you can't touch them as long as your inside the rift -- Atleast for now. (An update for a rift mechanic when using Cataclysm is possible. We'll just have to wait for that.)

Some warframes can be used with almost any arsenal, but not Limbo, he is one of the most unique frames in game and must be sync with specific weapon category to become very useful.
Here's a basic guide for Limbo's play style.

As a warframe that can change planes easily, you only need to focus on giving him ability enhancing mods.

On Limbo -- max out his Duration for pseudo infinite rift walk. You can include a maxed Narrow Minded. I know it gives negative range but it can easily be countered by basic range mods. Even a Cunning Drift mod can provide balance to the skill set. You'll only need range for Banish casting range, and bubble size of Cataclysm anyway. 60% range is enough. Also include a Natural Talent mod or Speed Drift to lower your casting animation, because Limbo is so squishy you need to be able to change planes before taking a fatal damage. One last mod would be Efficiency mods, because you will be spamming your abilities a lot.

Recommended Mods: Natural talent, All Duration and Efficiency Mods, Quick Thinking Mod

For Banish -- Be sure to equip any primary weapons that can one shot enemies. Shotguns/Bows would be preferred weapons over a Sniper, since every enemies you banish gets knocked down, you'll need to kill it in close-mid range, before enemies in the material plane block your bullets, or you can simply equip Punch Through Mods.

Tips and Tricks: Try to include any Shadow debt mod with the status chance proc on your weapon, since whenever you banish enemies you trigger the high status chance proc. Very effective with Corrosive and Electricity builds.

Tips and Tricks: You can also equip a Syndicate weapon - so that even when you are in the Rift, you help damage hordes of enemies with the Syndicate Proc. Yes, it does work in the material plane at the moment since it is an elemental proc.

Tips and Tricks: Banish also works in conjunction with other Warframe Abilities. If you see an Excalibur spamming Exalted Blade for example, use Banish on him. Your giving him invulnerability, energy regen and a trolling bright screen (lol).

Recommended Weapons: Shotguns, Bows, Any Melee with high Finishers

For Rift Walk -- With your build: long duration, high efficiency and high casting speed, you should be able to switch planes with no issues. Again you can spam this because you have Efficiency mods + energy regen inside the rift. Use this to simply walk through lasers inside an enemy vault (avoiding sentries and cameras by killing them with your Banish). In high alerted enemies, distract them to aim at you while you pick them one by one with Banish.

*BUG: Due to elemental procs going through the rift and material plane -- Any flaming projectile from Napalm, Hyekka or Grineer Capture Target renders your Rift Walk useless. Please be sure to kill them quick or from afar.

Tips and Tricks: Most boss types, including capture targets, has "vulnerable" phases. Whether by their reloading / casting animations -- they show it from time to time (e.g Sargas Ruk, Juggernaut's belly). You can safely wait in the rift, let them show these weak points, get a good close-mid ranged aim, disable Rift Walk then shoot at it! Or you can also cast Cataclysm on them so that you deal bonus damage with your 3rd skill (I do not recommend this on bosses with damage cap phases, e.g. Capt. Vor)

Effective Against: Most Bosses that has exposed weak spot.

For Rift Surge - additional 200% on your already high damaging weapon? Hell yes!

Keep this activated whenever possible.

Most Effective Augment: Rift Torrent

For Cataclysm - Okay so most people compare this with Frost's Globe. We know its not. Let's compare Cataclysm as a gate instead of a shield. You do not... and by any means, do not open the gate when large groups of enemies surrounds you and ready to kill you. Its that simple. You deal damage whenever they get in and out of the rift, so its better to cast it on groups of enemies far from you and let them roam. Always look for an opportunity to strike safely (e.g. enemy reloading etc) before charging in the bubble. Again, 60% range is enough to bring a console or cryopod inside the rift, and create a safe zone for you and your team.

Tips and Tricks: You can spam this skill now because of your build. With 130% Power Strength: It can kill most low health enemies, especially those flying, annoying drones and bugs.

Most effective weapons so far: Weapons that ragdolls enemies, e.g. Sonicor, Jat Kittag, etc.

Limbo is very Useful in: Spy, Sabotage, Hive, Rescue, Mobile Defense, Assassinate

Rather than being a tank or an assassin, you are more of a "utility" warframe. If you play solo a lot, Limbo is your best friend in stealing data, and looting treasures with ease. In team fights, your team can count on you when things get too tough by placing them, yourself, or the enemies, in the rift. So there you go, hope this has helped the newbies who'd like to master Limbo.

I will be updating this guide, whenever DE adds more Rift mechanic as they have promised.
