Plausible? Unlikely. However, it did happen with me. My connection was being a nuisance to deal with and I was the one hosting. When we were about to extract, they all lost connection and my shields immediately went down to 0 while my health popped down to ~300 and shortly after that I get incapacitated. There were no visible enemies or projectiles of any kind in the room. They weren't strong enough to take me down that easily even if there were, anyway.
