What does the Focus Ability actually do?(spoilers i guess)

i just completed the second dream quest, and now i can use the operator's focus ability. but what does it actually do?

(btw my school is Naramon)

Naramon's Mind Spike confuses enemies and causes them to begin fighting each other, and the waves must hit enemies in order for it to work.

Naramon unleashes waves of energy that confuse enemies, making some turn on each other, it can be upgraded to add bonus effects once activated, such as a few seconds of invisibility after every melee crit (Shadow Step upgrade, I highly recommend it), and up to 30% bonus melee crit chance
