Gifting Prime Access

Hey today is my birthday and my friend is trying to gift me prime access but there is no direct option for this so my question is if he purchases an XB1 gift card can that be used to purchase prime access? And day it was 50 dollars on the card and accessory pack is 60 dollars can I use the card balance and a credit card to pay the remainder?

Not sure if you can split the payment that way since I don't do online shopping that much. But it seems sound. If not, isn't there a way to use the credit card to add to the xb1 account? Then the balance even with the gift card should add up.

I'm thinking of doing the same with steam so I can get the PA.

You guys could ad dmoney to your steam account and then pay with your steam account against the money in the account.

This is how I buy everything - by using my steam account. Of course this is an answer for PC, if you are on XB I am not sure.

I ended up deciding to pay the fee on a prepaid visa for the full amount dealing with Xbox can be a pain. Thanks for your help! :)
