Repeatedly Returning Player

Hello! I am a person who has a problem with games...I play a ton of different games, but only for short periods at a time. This means when a massive expansion comes out, I'm kinda screwed because the mechanics of the game change so much that I never know what I'm supposed to be doing. I was wondering, have the crafting/farming/damage mechanics changed recently? It's been a little over a year since I played intensively...Thanks in advance!

The past year I would say no outside the addition of new materials to farm. Depending on your longevity this go around there is a slight possibility you may not encounter some of these materials.
