Edit: We get it, the solar rail system didn't work out. Are you thinking someone's going to get there feelings hurt if you take it out? You can leave the button for interaction with the doors. The solar rails used to be open for clan vs clan conflicts to fight over who controlled the node. DE didn't like how top clans leveraged the system, so they ended the clan vs clan aspect but still made the nodes available for credit and resource farming. The armistice won't be lifted until DE reworks the dark sector / solar rail system all together. It'll probably be the next thing DE focuses on after the cinematic quest, although I'd prefer it if they reworked the focus system first.
