Riven mods and elemental weapon interaction questions

I'd like to say I know the answers to these questions, but I don't know for sure.I'm going to try and be as clear as possible, but I can clarify as needed. Say you're using an elemental weapon like ignis or glaxion;

 

1. If a riven mod has +status chance, +status duration and -damage to a faction is it worth sticking with that riven or should it be rerolled? 

 

2. If a riven mod has an element attached that's not the main element, yet not detrimental, (ex: a riven with +electricity on ignis) Is that good or bad for the weapon? Is it better to have the weapon's default element? (fire for ignis)

1. I'd reroll. Status isn't all that great on continuous weapons, especially when it only hits one target like the Glaxion.

2. It works just like a regular elemental mod and combined elements are usually better than the basic ones, so it's definitely a good bonus in my books.
