Captain Vor Assassinations not working

Captain Vor on Mercury was on my list of things to scan so i went in with my Tigris prime and Helios to scan, kill, repeat. I scanned Vor then put one round into him which to my surprise killed him, he didn't go into his little shield of safety like he normally does to drag on the fight. He fell over and his body disintegrated. But not his spirit, there was no extraction way point and vor continued to shoot and slash at me even though he was not there. This would be funny were it not for the fact that i still took damage from him and had to abort the mission.
