Quesion about Ammo Case

Does it increase all of your weapon's maximum ammo or just your primary?

Just your primary, and it increases your total ammo carried rather than your magazine capacity.

Usually not worth the mod points.

Increases total ammo carried for all weapon types, AND provides a level of ammo mutation.

Ammo case on the carrier is very good for hungry weapons like:

- Soma / Soma prime

- Supra

- Furis / Dex furis

- Grakata / Twin Grakata

Not so good for anything like a bow or sniper.

I honestly would not use it. unless its a weapon that eats ammo.

Ammo Case's ammo mutation effect is the main reason to use it.  You can mostly ignore actual ammo mutation mods on your weapons when you are using carrier; Ammo case's effect is only equivalent to a rank 3 Ammo Mutation mod, but it is sufficient in most cases unless you are under-modded or miss a lot of shots.
