Courier in Pursuit Mission Stuck

During a pursuit mission the enemy Courier suddenly disappeared. It's icon appeared to be inside an asteroid. It seems to have flown into the bottom of the asteroid and gotten stuck. We weren't able to hit any of the shield generators, and even after we destroyed the engines multiple times we didn't get a mission failure or notification that it was trying to escape. We had to restart.
