Can't delete contacts

When trying to delete contacts from the list, the confirmation query appears greyed out below the layer of the contact window and can't be clicked. (think of it as a locked lower layer in Photoshop, if you will)

If I close the contact window, I can click it but the contact isn't deleted.

There seems to be no workaround to this and my list is stuck with its inactive contacts.

I haven't seen a thread on this yet so either this is exclusive to me or my search parameters were bad.

edit:

This thread can be deleted. Found the old one. ... apparently the search parameters "remove" and "contact" weren't enough to spot that one.
