Until then, Warframe being developed by DE is fine and healthy.

For the last point, the engine, they have they're IP engine (Evolution) so they probably can update that indefinetly.

There's a limit to how much you can port old content to updated engine. Yes, they can upgrade the engine, no problem. Dragging along years of content into it is another matter.
