You can own Helmith Charger even if you don't have Nidus?

I mean, I had the infested cyst fully grown on one of my warframes and I squished the cyst on a kubrow egg and now its doing its thing. This means I will get the Helmith Charger without owning Nidus warframe?

About Nidus: I have his pieces, finished all the main quests and I'm at the last part of his mission for the bp.

That's correct. 

All you need is one of your warframes to be infected by another player's warframe with a cyst. Once you drain the cyst, and complete the charger, it acts just like a Kubrow with it's own abilities to boot.
