Sobek Beats Hek In Terms Of Dps?

 Share

Recommended Posts

It reaches up to it and can keep that up longer (20 shot mags), but has longer phases of no damage (long-&#! reload now) and more importantly worse falloff. Less pellets means less benefit from Hell's Chamber too.

I say Hek is better at mid, Sobek is better at point blank.

Considering it's in the form of a question I think he is asking if he just wasted a potato. In which case it would belong in the players helping players section.

And to answer the question; No. You did not waste a potato. Have fun with your Hek. It's still a good gun.

why is that a fail?

Cus the damage is divided in each pellet in other word: More Base stats pellets = lesser damage cuz more of the pellets are going to bodyshot.

Thats why the heck is soo powerful accurate, its 140 damage in only 7 pellets.

Because for shotgun it shoots x% more pellets.

So let's say 4 pellets is 100% (sobek). 7 pellets is 100% for hek.

Now we take hell's chamber with 100%. (this will increase the pellet count by 2x)

so Sobek is now 8 pellets with 200% dmg. Hek is now 14 pellets with 200% dmg

It shares the same dmg falloff of Hek (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0Au6mBXle3cFtdHBYUzVJaDJfdkIzSEN1cUh5UlRvckE&toomany=true#gid=4'>source). But with a much higher clip size, it's make a more versatile gun, with more sustained damage. And it's full auto.

It also shares the same accuracy of Hek, but since it has less pellets per shot, you will probably miss less pellets (needs confirmation).

But if you max Hell's Chamber you have 120% extra pellets, not 100%, so:

Hek      7 pellets -> 7 * 120% = 8.4 = 8 extra pellets (rounded down). Dmg increases from 140 to 300 per shot.

Sobek  4 pellets -> 4 * 120% = 4.8 = 4 extra pellets (rounded down). Dmg increases from 100 to 200 per shot.

Hell's chamber works differently than other multi-shot mods.

it increases the number of pellets by a certain amount.

Hek      7 pellets -> 7 * 120% = 8.4 = 8 extra pellets (rounded down). Dmg increases from 140 to 300 per shot.

Sobek  4 pellets -> 4 * 120% = 4.8 = 4 extra pellets (rounded down). Dmg increases from 100 to 200 per shot.

How in game works, i will be 5 extra pellets for the sobek cuz the digits is higher than X.5  Same happens with mods and damage.

Except that it applies a % chance to the last pellet still.  You've got an 80% chance at an extra pellet with the sobek, and a 40% to get an extra one with the Hek.  The total average bonus damage ends up being the same.

edit: does not work the way Dasmir says it does either.

Because multishot doesn't have less benefit due to fewer pellets.  For example, getting 3 extra pellets that do 20 damage each instead of 6 that do 10 damage is still the same net effect.

Oh, thanks. I didn't know that.

doesn't the game round up? In the case that it does, that would make it 8 and 5 extra, respectively.

How do you play? Constantly firing the whole time even when not in combat actively avoiding picking up ammo drops?

sorry let me explain that

youl run out of ammo in 2 minutes while not firing constantly, and picking up all the ammo drops with shotgun scavenger artifact maxed out, simply because the damage is so low and it takes more than a couple of auto shots for a single enemy

edit: unless you rush straight to the boss/exit

There's already an extra one if you have 120% in a Hek. It increases 8 pellets (from the initial 7), and it has a 40% chance of a 9th pellet.

While with a Sobek, it increases 4 pellets (from the initial 4) with a 80% chance of a 5th pellet.

So, yes, Hek does benefits more than Sobek from Hell's Chamber

Your point being?  The overall average damage % increase ends up being the same.

Look

Let's say you fire 10 times with a 120% hell's chamber.

it would be reasonable to assume 8/10 of the sobek's will have an extra pellet, so you end up with

200*2+225*8=2200 damage total.

without chamber it would just be 1000 damage.   So chamber is a 120% increase

WIth a hek, 4/10 would have an extra bullet, so that's

300*6+320*4=3080

Without chamber, it would be 1400 damage.  So a 120% increase from chamber.

Of course, the hek is going to be more reliable in some ways, but overall it'll be the same percentage increase.
