Damage Order

Question

lets say i have 100 base damage. 90 ice damage. 90 whatever element damage.

i hit an enemy with 180 shield.

if the ice damage is calculated first, it will eliminate the shields since freeze does double damage to shields.

therefore the 100 base and 90 whatever will damage the enemy's health.

if the other element is calculated first, it will do 90 damage to shield, then the ice would eliminate the shield.

so it will do less damage.

does anyone know what is situation is right?

Warframe currently doesn't have any kind of "shield gating" mechanism, which means that any incoming damage which fully depletes a target's shields will go on to deal the full remainder of its damage to health.

In other words, "leftover" damage is always applied in full when going from shields to health pools.

I'm going to guess, and say that the game engine is comparing elemental strengths and weaknesses against the target, and then applying all those numbers in whatever order suits it. The resulting numbers are always the same, so the order in which they're applied shouldn't matter.
