Weekend Events: Serving Latecomers While Keeping The Pressure On

You guys are improving quickly, this event was both more fun and more rewarding than the informer-balloons event. However, events like this really need to be accessible for their full time period. There's a very simple reason for this:

Real life.

While the community coming together to create shared progress on objectives is awesome, we also need to allow people who have commitments to juggle to look at the schedule and be confident that if they can only show up for the last 6 hours of the alert time period, they can still participate, rather than showing up and seeing that there's nothing left for them to do.

Using the just-ended event as an example, I think the "community operation urgency pressure" and "let everyone participate" goals can be meshed like this:

Shortly after the last fomorian ship goes down, Lotus command redtext informs us: "All of the fomorian warships have been destroyed. From data gathered during this operation, we have located the shipyard where the formorians were constructed. There are a number of partially constructed ships and reactor testing installations remaining there. The Grineer know we know, and are scrambling to save their equipment by scattering it to as many locations as possible. Destroy what you can before they can hide it from us."

And then that shipyard attack operation is available until the end of the event time period.

This makes it clear that we've already won the operation, and that the remaining objective bonus as far as community completion goes, which lets you keep the lights on for latecomers while not interfering with the urgency of the rest of the missions in the event.

Agreed... if you are going to base rewards on participation and have a time period that the event is going on then the reward pre-requisite should be available that whole entire time. They don't need to keep pumping the event just to make sure it lasts long enough, but something akin to this would be very good.
