Would it ever be possible to link open maps?

Good to the developers and to players of Warframe.

Moving forward to the update Plains of Eidolon, it looks like DE has unearthed something amazing and completely game-changing, that it's garnered so much more new players. I'm just wondering if this could ever be possible in the future. Could we eventually have tiles that are close to the size of the plains of eidolons, but linked and procedurally-generated like our regular small maps in the near future? Mixing new tech with old one would certainly shake things up, and it would create and ever-changing world in-game that players will take even way longer to get used to. I thought it would be an interesting idea, though the scope seems massive.
