[Suggestion] Warframe Ability Combos

Abilities are kind of drab at the moment, being generally simplistic (single target damage or AoE spam). So I have a suggestion to add some complexity to the way skills are used and to combat in general; chaining skills of a Warframe together for additional effects. This would do well to differentiate frames from each other as well, given them different mechanics beyond 4 to AoE etc.

 

Here are some examples of how it would on certain frames.

 

ASH

#Shuriken - Enemies not killed by a shuriken are marked for assassination for 10 seconds.

#Smoke Screen - As is.

#Teleport - Teleporting to a marked enemy performs an assassination (one of the attacks from Bladestorm, only single target and less damage).

#Bladestorm - Marked enemies in the vicinity of bladestorm are executed by one of Ash's after-images, rather than Ash directly.

 

Notes: One of the main criticisms against Ash is despite his decent damage, alot of his skills are subpar; teleport is generally worthless, shuriken is overshadowed by guns and bladestorm doesn't hold against proper AoE skills from other frames. With these skill combos, Ash gains utility in his shuriken skill, allowing him to use teleport as an offensive ability if needed and Bladestorm has a faster execution time when used against marked enemies.

 

EMBER

#Fireball - When used in Overheat, Fireballs explode causing AoE damage, but leave no fire trail.

#Overheat - As is.

#Fire Blast - Consumes fire in the nearby environment (e.g. fire trails from fireball, fire on ember from overheat, fire created from world on fire) for additional damage.

#World on Fire - As is.

 

RHINO

#Rhino Charge - Charging whilst in Iron Skin has a shorter range but does additional damage, pulverizing weaker enemies into misty blood.

#Iron Skin - As is.

#Roar - As is.

#Rhino Stomp - If used with Iron Skin, Rhino shatters his Iron Skin, causing metal shards to fly out and shred enemies affected by the stomp.

 

VOLT

#Shock - When shot through Electric Shield, Shock transforms into a high damage, quick and linear travelling thunderbolt akin to a railgun, losing it's AoE properties but able to pass through multiple enemies.

#Speed - Running through Electric Shield launches Volt (and allies affected by speed) forward with a significant boost.

#Electric Shield - As is.

#Overload - Using Overload in Speed does not disrupt movement but limits the range of the effect to a small area around Volt. Electricity that arcs off Volt during this does higher damage.

I think having a combo ability on number 5 would be better. If two players press 5 at the same time their abilities would synergise to create a whole new uber ability.

Eg, if Volt and Excalibur both pressed 5, Excalibur would perform a slash dash and chain lightning would leap to any enemies which recieve a near miss from the dash.

Each pairing of warframes would have their own unique uber combo ability. This would provide some depth when choosing a warframe and teaming with others and would also hugely encourage more teamwork.

I think that this isn't plausible for where warframe is in development. A system like this would slow the development of new frames drastically with any new frame needing 13 new animations and needing to add animations to all existing frames. So personally Tangerine has the right idea with improving synergy with in a frame.
