Flackenstien Posted August 10, 2013 Share Posted August 10, 2013 (edited) You'd play as the squad that grabs the pod/artifact after a defense mission, it's your job to get to the pod before the enemies intercept it. You would have a very limited amount of time to race to the pod, but there would be some mods and materials sprinkled throughout the map tiles. Picking them up would vastly decrease the time left in the mission. Picking up multiple mods/materials in quick succession could exponentially decrease the time more with each snatch. For example, grabbing 1 mod reduces your time by 4 seconds, but if you grab another mod within a few moments of the last, it'll decrease your time by 8 seconds, 12 seconds, and so on. (Especially to counter Volt's SPEED.) You can either go out of the way of the mission to get loot "left behind" by the previous Tenno, risking success, or you can stay on the main path with less loot, but you're more likely to make it to the pod before the enemies do. For the further sake of balance, it could be an uncommon Alert-only mission type with tougher than usual enemies along the way (probably less enemies though, since lore-wise, it's after the place already got ransacked). Defense missions already give ridiculous amounts of mods and materials without a time limit, and with tons of exp. Plus the loot is all in one spot in Defense.
