Fang Prime Setup

I'm trying to level a Fang Prime now, and given my other topic on my difficulty in gaining levels, I'd like to what would be a good setup for a plain ol' 30 Fang Prime. Reason being is due to lack of catalyst alerts and running low on forma, I'd rather keep it at 30, and then once I get another catalyst (if another alert decides to be nice and appear) and more forma, then I'll stat leveling it again.

 

Any suggestions that would make it hold its own for a while (or just any in general) would be appreciated.

Many melee weapons do not even need a catalyst to be amazing. For fang prime, get a high damage mod and fire rate mod, and get the elementals but keep them level 2 or under. Invest in the damage, charge damage, and attack speed mods with the fang.

The basics for a charge weapon: +charge speed, +charge dmg, +dmg, +armor piercing.

Fury - 9 (max)

that's how it should look like and as you can see only 2 forma so you won't need to keep it for a long time

 

just go for a maxxed pressurepoint, sundering strike and fury and 10point ice mode ;)

I wasn't really planning on maining CA with Fang Prime, but I guess I can take that into account. And I'm pretty sure I've seen that same picture posted on the wiki page for Fang Prime, and that's already with a catalyst. I was asking for a decent setup w/o that since 1) I don't have anymore 2) alerts for them refuse to show up

Last 5 are a bane mod, a reach mod, or dropping one point in fury for a cold/elec mod for snare/cc.

Wouldn't SS be kind of redundant since it already does piercing? I read on the wiki page that it still adds additional damage, but I wouldn't know about the mechanics

Basically it adds an additional 90% armor piercing damage, on top of the modified weapon damage.

Well, until another catalyst alert decides to be nice and present itself, gonna be sticking with something for a while, or maybe I'll just go and make another melee weapon

Are you really suggesting a charge build for Fang Prime... ? -_-

That was kinda my reaction on my side. From what I see, DPS is the way to go for Fang Prime. It seems like it could be decent for CA, but...yeah

Don't even think about a charge build on Fang (Prime)... it's like sniping with Supra.

Looks like it'll be a while before I can get more catalysts (accursed RNG and alerts)
