Low FPS in game

PC Specs:

Operating System: Windows 10

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050

RAM: 8GB

 

Have been getting low fps in game, notably since Update 23.2.0 came out. I've been playing for weeks and the game has been running smoothly on high graphic setting before I encountered such bad fps drop.

I'm getting 50 - 57fps while idling in the orbiter; frame rate drops to 41 - 44 fps in the star chart. Solo modes even in PoE doesn't seem to be that badly affected.

While connected to a random squad doing T1 fissure excavation, frame rate was hovering around 21fps and increased to 27fps when choosing a relic. This was run on low graphic setting. 

Tried changing the Direct X setting and verifying & optimizing the download cache but both still doesn't help. Have been noticing that the game is using 20 - 40% of the GPU and it doesn't exceed 50% usage on the task manager.

Has anyone been getting this too?

Solo usually spawns less enemies... Depending on how new you are to the game, the later content is usually also more cpu and gpu heavy than the first few hours of the game.

So I wonder, where is your CPU sitting at in the task manager?
