Clans - What They Could Be

BE PREPARED: before reading this, go pee, grab a snack/food, alt tab out of the game but keep fx-volume on for alerts or have your fellow nerd on standby.

The way I see clans might be completly different from how you see them and I'm not saying you're wrong, this is just how I imagine it could be.

A clan has A SET MAXIMUN NUMBER OF PLAYERS (lets say 50 for now), Tenno are being brought back from cryosleep, they are elite fighters but apply a sort of guerilla tactic. Clans are therefore made up of a smaller number of Tenno. This is also to keep the Clan together functioning more as a team than a rag-tag group of people just happening to play the same game.

Although some Tenno are fighting in one clan, all Tenno are allies. Thus there is no penalty for joining games with Players outside of your clan. However there is a bonus for playing with your clan. Experience is shared on the entire map (less if you are far away, but still a percentage) and a finished mission reward is added. (clan XP?)

Further I would like to tie things together more, there should be a reason for being in a clan, and a purpose for each member. Each player should be able to contribute in some way, and even if being away (offline), there is a value in your participance. This will let players that don't play non stop stil be able to contribute to their clan and not be drags and spotholders.

My vision, after looking at the forum, is somewhat as follows:

Clans recide in "Dojo"-spaceships that functions as their base of operations (home). The Dojo is "planet based" in the way that it orbits a planet and by doing so gains access to it's special features. When a clans main vessel orbits a planet, the planets mineable resources becomes available as a passive income for the clan. As there are differnt resources on different planets and a clans demand can change the Dojo-ship can travel via the solar rails. The traveling takes (real) time, longer or shorter depending on distance from A to B. The Dojo also requires an amount of "fuel" harvested from the planet via offline "mining duty".

YES! Remeber that I said I wanted players to be able to help out even if they didn't play 24/7. "Offline time" is a way to make something of your offline time. By a number of choices you can dedicate your tenno to provide passive bonuses to your clan. Here is a number of possibilitys.

Offline time:

Mining duty: Players allocate their offtime for working at the clans secret mining camp - Provides additional clan resource income. (Mining also provides fuel for traveling to other planets/systems)

Research: Players chooses labduty - Shortens clan foundry time.

Exploration: Players go on hunts for lost Orokin technology, lore and Clan (daily) artifacts (see "Clan Market")

Maintenance: Players choose to tend to their Dojo recieving a percentage of credit from the Clan Market. (Maintenance can be for repairs or preperation to travel aso.)

Archive Studdies: Orokin artefacts found on missions or explorations are studdied to recover tech or to provide coordinates for special "treasure hunt"-missions. (preferably with some special old orokin-ruin terrain).

*Hunt: Hunt differs from the rest of the offline clan duties. A player can choose to go hunting to get various rewards simillar to those available in online missions. An amount of XP is gained, aswell as a chance to get artifacts and fusion cores. However, when a player goes hunting he or she face the risk dying on a mission spending the daily respawns. Unless a player has a minumum of 2 respawns a hunt cannot be preformed. A player cannot spend more than 3 respawns per day and a hunting mission takes a minimum of 1 hour to complete.

*Note that if a player goes hunting and does not die the hunt goes on for as many respawns/missions as the player has choosen to spend Hunting.

*Player starts hunt by selcting amount of respawns/mission he/she is willing to "gamble".

*Passive provides nothing for the clan.

CLAN ROOMS:

Clan Market:

The Clan Market, although a helping hand, (will be) more known for the terrible rates and the greedy "Tenno Protectorate" that runs it. (*A group of Tenno hired guns with a monopoly on the trade. Sometimes providing additional Alert missions "Help defend the Tenno Protectorate trade shuttle" or something like that - with a possibility of them being all dead and lots of resources WUHU)

Here players can find the rewards from their mining, exploration missions and studdies. There is also a possibility to sell off excess resources for credits, and buy new ones. (at rather terrible rates as game would be widly unbalanced otherwise)

*See this more as a possibility to atleast give you the option to change resources and credits for something else without farming. For those who've invested alot of time but lack a small amount of resources there is a way to trade those final needed rubedo or alloy plates (if the clan has them available - via mining or previous trades).

*An amount of the resources traded are taken as an admission fee. (They won't be available at the market for other clan members)

*A portion of the credits traded for resources is taken by the Tenno Protectorate (as pay for their work) the rest is disperced to the Tenno providing maintenance. (This provides a chance to get credits but it's not stale and boring, if more Tenno in the clan use the Market, more money will be returned to it.

Clan Library:

Lore found by the members of the clan can be found here. (I know this is alot of work for devs, but it would be awesome if you could find lore-fragments on missions, go to the library and read them (or if you have more time/money, have them be read to you - voice acting)).

This is also where the studdies of some the more "mission based" lore takes place (Orokin artefacts) during offline time. A player can select a piece of lore/artifact and choose to studdy it. When the studdy is complete the lore/artifact may provide a part of map to a special treasure-hunt mission.

Clan Dojo:

The Dojo is a training ground for the clan where players can try out their new weapons and practice on moves and skills.

A map with varying obstacles and dummies for target practice.

Here you can practice wall running, jumping, sliding, stealth kills aso. Different dummies provides a way to test weapon damage on different armorclasses and shielded enemies.

*Meeting place: (personally I don't find this that important)

A place where multiple Tenno can meet in game. Almost chat.

CLAN AWARDS:

I've always found achievments to be encuraging while playing games that are a bit "longer". Which clan has the highest mastry rank, most kills, planet coverage, most lore...

Although this may call for solo achievments aswell here are some ideas.

Current Warframes (combined player total):

@100 (2) - Stone, @200 (4) - Bronze,

@300 (6) - Silver, @400 (8) - Gold,

@500 (10) - Platinum, @600 (12) - Diamond,

@>600 (12.X) - Lotus

(12 is the current number of warframes not counting Prime, if this is changed so shall the numbers)

Warframe lvl: (the clans average warframe lvl *all the lvls of the warframes put togheter divided by amount of warframes, divided by number of (50/max?) clanmembers):

5 - stone, 7 - Bronze, 12 - Silver, 17 - Gold, 25 - platinum, 29 - Diamond, 30 - Lotus.

*Subdivisions for each Warframe.

Which clan has the highest rank Embers or Frosts? Which clan has 50 Trinitys?

Weapon Mastry:

*Subdivision for each weapon.

Clan missions and special alerts.

Clan:

A clans duty is to maintain some sort of foothold in the sector. When a Dojo-ship is orbiting a planet missions called Dominance-missions are the main missions. Keeping dominance at 50% or above is vital (play all maps) for optimal bonuses. One playthrough gives 1 day of 100% dominance, after that every hour decreases dominance by 10%.

Mining: an alert class mission that sends down a scouting/sweep team to secure a mining spot. (Required to start mining at the arrival to a planet.)

Infestation alert! (While traveling through space a ship crashes into the Dojo and a small number of infested manage to board the ship. Hull breach - find a way to seal the hole - find the infested -

mission has a doubble count down timer) If not completed foundry time is increased 1 hour.

Tenno Protectorate:

Defend the mining camp: Alert that if not completed gives a minus to mined resources.

Interstellar Train Robbery: Swarms of Grineer have the Tenno surrounded, MAYDAY! MAYDAY! Lotus, save us...

Major credit/resource mission. VERY HARD.

SOS/Missing - Protectorate shuttle: Find the protectorate shuttle - save crew/ locate crashed ship/ assassinate traitors.

Special:

Treasure hunt - after studdying Orokin artefacts to get map-fragments and possibly obtaining lore a special mission becomes available for the clan (only clanmembers!). These special missions has the possibility to spawn unique bosses

or monsters with a chance for top level mods, artifacts and special clan (daily and permanent) artifacts.

WAR:

Endgame play, lvl 30 only - join the war and fight high lvl enemies. Grineer walkers FTW :D:D:D!

Clan artifacts:

Each clan has a number of slots for "clan artifacts", these are essentially mods for your entire clan, although not as individually powerfull. A cland could have f.e. 3 permanent slots and one daily. The permanent slots each have polarity and the clans lvl (here is where clan xp comes in) determin the artifacts it can sustain.

Artifacts could be,

No shadow strikes - 15% increased critical hit chance on unaware enemies.

Lotus's embrace - health orbs provide 10 additional HP.

Not dead yet - 5 more seconds for revive.

aso.

And finally - warframe origins:

When looking at the warframes and the planets they are found on I saw no connection between some of them. Perhaps there could be some additional missions to explore their origins. This in it's turn could be connected to the clan - The founder of clan "what ever" was "some dude", his main warframe was Ash. Clan gets a small speed increase.

Ash - the champion who created this warframe resided on the far side of saturns 2:nd moon. Ash was a master pilot and used to practice flying in the icy rings of Saturn. In time he developed superb reflexes and great physique, his legacy is speed... or something like that.

Thx for reading.
