  1. I have had this problem for years, managed to temporarily solve it about 3 months ago, but the problem has resurfaced, despite keeping my drivers up to date, currently @ nvidia 430.86 on Windows 7. Card is GIGABYTE GTX 650 Ti, CPU is i5-3450

This is apparently a TDR crash as per this post: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/792089-game-screen-freezes-but-keeps-going/?do=findComment&comment=8643223

The "crash" I had about 30 minutes ago  is again displayed as an ID 4101 in the system event viewer, despite the fact that I have changed the regedit key as per instruction by @Zenviscerator to his suggested value of 8. I have even tried Nuke & Paving the entire system about 3 weeks ago, fresh Win 7 install, updates AND new drivers. No dice.

Whatever it is that DE change, sometimes it is temporarily fixed for a couple of hotfixes but it ALWAYS rears its ugly head back eventualy. Maybe it is hardware/manufacturer firmware dependent, or its age? Other software/frameworks installed by other programs interfering with something? I am thinking about upgrading the system after next christmas when even newer stuff will go on sale, but given the variety of your systems, it could very well still exist even after that.

I suppose I will try to just tank the graphics settings and hope for the best for the meantime.

If someone at DE has a hunch about what we could try, I am very willing to participate in some monitored experiments or try wild suggestions at this point. Interrupted gameplay, LOADSAMONEY worth of rewards lost over the years of this... am not mad at this point, just exhausted, guys.

    Know my pain.

  2. Sorry for replying so late, didn't have much time to play the game.

As for your question @sam686, this has been going on for the entirety of my warframe experience since 2013 (older accounts that I hope to either merge with this one or migrate to different platform), so I doubt the card has been dying for 5 years, at least, apart from normal wear. Not familiar with clocking and with this system being close to 6 years old, probably not going to faff around with until I can get a new one since I NEED it for work/uni.

@Horrida..Messor As stated in the post I am running Windows 7 and hope to hell that DE will either still support it past EOL, from a virtualized system with GPU passthrough or make the game run on WINE. Or support linux natively, though I am not holding my breath there. What I find odd is that this problem is SPECIFIC to Warframe. Literaly no other game or program (bloody FEA solvers with some CUDA shenanigans even) has created this type of CTD for me, ever.

As a side note, this forum system has quite a flaw. When I tried to open with the @username in the document and nothing else, I could not escape the element and continue entering text. Saved it and only through deleting and reentering this message and adding user references afterwards is this working.

  3. Fortuna and its immediate vicinity in Orb Vallis are very crash prone -as in, every 5-10 minutes. It ranges from simple visuals crash (something I have been experiencing randomly on-off for all the years of playing the game and have not been able to enjoy long solo runs or group runs because of, ever) - e.g. the game keeps running but I can only see the desktop while, on occasion, Win 7 reports driver crash and its successful restart - to full on complete computer freezes requiring hard reboot. I think I will be waiting till next week to play seriously, if I have the time. Shame, since I specifically alloted this weekend to Warframe, but no dice it seems. Man do I hope you guys switch to Vulkan and get the game on Linux+macOS so I can be rid of this nonsense and actualy be able to find the problem myself.

Here's my dxdiag scrubbed of useless sound and external devices info, good luck boys and girls, hope it helps:

  4. Well, the older things in this game should realy get a lookover, though I would personaly like to see more bundles AND much better explanation of what you are actualy getting. Especially with the fact that you get slots and potatoes (seriously UI guys, come on, you are shooting yourselves in the foot here). In the case of Ash and some others with nice alternate skins, it would be interesting to see better marketing of those skins, so while the frame could be cheaper, now you are invested in it, so you would be more likely to get the cosmetics.

My play time is also getting shorter, so I understand why there is a need for these pay2skip routes (I have probably sunk well over $150 on cosmetics and slots at this point), though in terms of grind I would rather go on an adventure (or wild goose chase since you want to encourage the cash shop still) for these things rather mash my face against brick wall that is some frame/weapon grinds. Single mission type grinds eat away at my soul, seriously guys.

There is SO MUCH STUFF in warframe now that I agree we should be rather encouraged to "Catch 'em all!" and "Look absolutely fabulous!" in order to get the well-deserved cash. For example, if we had a Replay feature for missions with Captura capabilities... oh sweet mother, the cosmetics sales for those slick vanity shots and content creator marketing of the game would probably skyrocket. Any of you remember CnC3:KW casting? Now imagine entire mission replay with captura capabilities. Overwatch, eat your heart out! Hnnnnnnng!

Also, guys, Slot bundle. Seriously. That would probalby make people actualy notice Sentinels, Archwing and Pets. You've got a huge game, yet it only tells stuff or downright doesn't explain instead of shows in a lot of places. This will probably hurt your UI designers' ego, but this game is often as navigable as Dwarf Fortress. I love Dwarf Fortress, but getting my friends into it is virtualy impossible. Similarly for Warframe.

  5. Hello there, I have a suggestion for you guys that I think would make you (especialy the beancounters of our chinese overlords) and the playerbase happy. I don't much care for the Targis armor as it is too flashy for my tastes, but the pricing and bundling is way too sketchy from a consumer's standpoint. Without further delay, here's my proposal:

Expand on Arcanes and allow an account to have multiples of the same cosmetic items.

We already have the opportunity to have multiple helmets and syandanas, so why not let entire armor sets have arcane enhancements (though that system requires quite a bit of work). Perhaps I like a set of armor, syandana and a helmet and want to use different builds on a frame? Right now, arcane distiller and painful arcane installation is the only way, but I am sure quite a lot of people would rather dish out plat or money for multiple sets so that they can have convenience of looking the way they like while being able to test out or run multiple builds. Free players don't get screwed either since now we have not only Baro, but those only-through-play lower Lunaro armor sets at the cost of standing, so they wouldn't lose out on mechanics.

This way you wouldn't have to make ridiculous bundles at questionable prices, as lovers of the Targis or pretty much any other accessory could have multiples, which would rack up the cost, ergo make you money. You can then sell them at around 15-20$ range and voila, you get repeat spenders as well. Since prime accessories are a bit of a premium, you can still offer them for limited time during certain periods as you do the Unvaultings. I know it's bit foolish to ask this here on the forums of all places as I understand that my fellow players feel a bit bent over and violated, but let's be reasonable, shall we?

  6. 3 minutes ago, .Chrome. said:

Heres a pro tip: Farm the ducats BEFORE the trader appears, then you can just buy everything you need the day he comes. works fine for me.

Some work and/or study the whole week and truly only have time to grind ducats during weekends, so your point is moot. I give up getting all the mods, but the primed Impact and buzzkill I was sure I COULD farm for. Now, not so much.

I am not usualy for malice, but having the machines doing the attack overvolt and release the magic smoke from the likes of Chernobyl virus of old would be oh so satisfying.

  7. @DE_Steve

Sounds awesome Steve, cannot wait to see what you guys cooked up with it. I am just wondering if you are planning to use P2P to cut down on that insane level of bandwidth, considering the size and so many consecutive downloads. Here in EU it should be no problem to use the torrent protocol from within the client if you dabbled with the implementation and would likely speed up the process as well, although I hear the US ISP companies are being stupid with that, so distribution there might be funky.

  8. Be wary, if you try to move things along, the game will never register that you had it in your inventory, ergo gets the quest stuck. I will try getting another chassis later (ugh... the power carrier spawn rate on that mission is janky to say it politely, easily 2 minutes going around the entire map without a single one spawning on solo) to see whether that gets it unstuck. Probably should do some additional check/hook to ensure the game knows what happened even if you use nexus app to do it.

  9. I have to say, I am conflicted, after playtesting the changes I can give much better feedback, but... well... it's going to take a while given the nature of the Focus system and sorta screwing any non-damage-dealing frames with the focus point gain. I can however comment on the quest.

While the story in itself is thrilling, like many others who did and will probably put it less eloquently, literaly being the Zariman children with no physical alterations, detached from the frames in control pods - á-la few anime robot-control works - seems a bit less interesting than being the frames themselves. However, this is still salvageable. For now, I will just say synthesis, but very soon I can put something together that can work and still enable us to not be so cliché. While I appreciate the VO work (sans the.. even more "captain obvious" lines during missions), having the voices AND faces no less breaks immersion for a lot of folks, including myself.

Honestly the character customization is something a bit alien in the game and feels like tacking on a korean-style loli warriors to appease the chinese market. No shred of mystery left in this regard, you full on dumped everything out at once. Thankfully you spared the Stalker, which is why I think this is salvageable.

Well, I hope this has not alienated a significan portion of your playerbase, but I have to say now I have to take a break from taking this game as my most beloved piece of software and art on this machine, since my brain dropped the interest as I saw the customization screen. Since I was near tears before, this ruined the ending for me. Interesting how the mind works. It is good, but you have hinted at so many things, let the people's head cannons set in and then you did this. I know you cannot please everyone, but I have to say you left many of us with disinterest rather than disapointment due to such choices.

  10. Oh, that is interesting indeed. Yeah, the knockback feature is virtualy non-existent now, especialy considering Parkour 2.0 and trying to aim the thing. I use throwns like shotguns now, in closed spaces where the enemy has no way to escape. Except using Kestrel feels like some sort of nightmarish mode with enemy regenning that meager damage before I manage to land another hit on them. I suppose at least I make MR0s feel good about mashing the melee button long enough around to whittle me down while they skillfuly dodge my throws, so I've got that going for me.

So not only did they axe Kestrels' jobs, but they refused to retrain them and now they collect dismal social security in arsenals, weeping about their existence. Meanwhile Jat Kittags make everything around sit on its behind in attendance. Nice.

  11. So, Kestrel does total of 7.5 damage, in line with the Karyst. The thing is, Karyst has all that damage going to Toxin, ergo bypassing the shields, while Kestrel has 5.3 Impact, 1.1 Slash & Puncture, so no shield bypass. Compare that to the Glaive, an equivalent throwing weapon, that has whopping 31.1 Slash, 6.7 Impact & Puncture. So the secondary damage on the Glaive is greater than the main damage of the Kestrel O.o

    ALL OF MY WHAT

Upon looking at the changelogs, this has been there quite forever, so is this intended? Am I missing some sort of playstyle that is possible with the Kestrel but not the Glaive that hammers the target so fast that the damage output is equivalent? Or did someone forget to add a number there...

  12. PC Tenno,

We're working on securing a build candidate for you -- fine tuning some features and ironing out last minute things for a smooth release.  Our goal is still to launch today (Thursday, March 19) and we’ll continue updating this thread as we get a better idea on when Warframe: Sanctuary will go live!

    Thanks for your patience, Tenno.

    -DE_Adam

Well ladies and lads, appreciate the overtime. Wish you seamless build and lower ammount of complaining tomorrow. May your compilers not be A******s today, version control be swift and servers spun up for the drop. Let it be known at least some of us appreciate what you do and the breakneck crunch times you have. Cheers and g'night for now.

  13. Steel Meridian, Arbiters, and Suda are the path to grand victory.

Perrin Sequence have a huge stick up their ! about Meridian, so I just ignore them.

Veil are psychopaths, so... I would wipe them out if I could, but that's not an option, so...

New Loka are... semi-Nazi, Hippies Space Cultists with more than a few creepy factors.  Their leader is really fanatical and honestly a sorta eerie lady.

Steel Meridian is the generic good-guy type of syndicate everyone can relate to.

Arbiters... I don't know how I should feel about them. I am very wary of them for some reason, because I have the feeling they had their fingers in the fall of the Orokin empire, big time. Out of all the syndicates, they strike me as the most sinister ones.

Suda. I like her, but I'd like her more if she wished to share the knowledge or use it instead of just collecting it. It's like a sentient archive hellbent on acquiring information simply for storage.

Perrin Sequence are probably going to end up as my main ones. Not a profit guy, but they strike me as opportunists and innovators who realy look for peaceful solution to this whole thingamabob.

Red Veil is quite conflicting. What is this great cleanse they are after? I also remember something from the red veil event with the rescue missions that seems to contradict the whole terrorist vibe.

New Loka are are what I'd call backwards thinking idealists. Rather than hippies, I'd say they are the Amish of Warframe. Dat Sancti Castanas tho...

  14. Note for reinstalling.

I do quite a lot of Nuke'n'Pave on my machine, such as  trying various bootloader configs, Win 10 tech preview tryout etc., and my download speed is 300-ish KB/s (trash). So, in order to not have to download ALL the things, you can copy the following folder - install dir...\Downloaded\Public\Cache.Windows - someplace you backup, delete the installation, run CCleaner for registry entries, then launch the installer again. Pause (by unchecking BULK DOWNLOAD in launcher settings), copy the contents back, resume the download and reenable bulk option. This will do a file check and you don't have to DL all those 8 gigs of data ever again.

  15. Let me preface that this report might have some venting, as alas, I am incredibly &!$$ed off at the issue.

So, missions appear to screw up their sanity checks as to whether the mission should be failed or not on SOLO. Most notably, the Orokin Sabotage, specificaly the Archwing quest node. For example, I have been failed after crossing the portal back after defeating the minibosses for the key. Proceeded as normal but still got a MISSION FAIL when the timer ran out. TWICE. Extremely infuriating when this happens to you in the extraction room as you might have guessed.

Now, on my main account this is not such a big deal, since I have accumulated mission failures simply by testing out various weapon loadouts/stances and quitting.

But, I have recently created a new alt SPECIFICALY to go and complete missions on solo with 100% success rate. A little challenge I set up for myself. Can you imagine, after sinking plat in it and busting my balls early game to get a good, safe weapon combo going in order to ensure that challenge was possible, just how F!#&€ &!$$ED OFF I AM WHEN I SEE THIS?:wcEGZOA.jpg

Dont even ask me how those cipher fails happened, zero clue about that.

    So, to summarize:

Mission completion logic borked on SOLO, fix PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY TO YOU, PLEASE.

I don't mean to sound like a bundle of sticks, but I think you get the frustration, especialy since I already dropped 1k plat into this alt. If I genuinely failed, OK, I effed up. Challenge failed. But this... this...
