  1. What a horrible reward for vets. I got two of them this past week and they're absolutely useless. I'd suggest raising their drop rate so they aren't at the same rarity level as catalysts, but then we'd get even more of them. Please, either remove them from reward table, make them harder to get than legendary cores, merge catalyst and reactor ability or give us some other way to use them.

The collision boxes for terrain seem to often be extremely similar to the actual geometry of the 3D models, which is likely leading to getting stuck on ledges. If DE smoothed out the collision meshes some (so tiny outcroppings/etc. didn't have actual collision meshes when doing parkour) it would probably fix this issue with minimal or no loss of visual quality. A foot clipping into a tiny ledge for a fraction of a second some of the time while bullet-jumping isn't a huge issue.

It's not on the bullet jumping, just running around. Seems to happen more in the grineer ships, especially going through the round portals. The instant stop and getting stuck when I expect to keep moving makes me nauseous. Never had this problem w WF before. Can't rightly say when it started, but it seems to get a little worse as time goes on.

  3. It seems, over the years, that movement in this game has slowly degraded. Never mind the rage inducing crouch multi-jump into an obstacle compared to how the frame would rise as it spun and get over the obstacle, to now where the frame looks like a [censored] idiotic salmon trying to get up its natal stream. Let's see, not ninja-esque bunny hops on walls. Having to back up and back up to jump up a vertical face. The interrupting grab and flip up to a ledge when unwanted, which is most of the time (used to be that flip up to a ledge was a real savior, but seems mostly useless since bullet jump inception). The getting stuck on tiny edges is the worst tho and the game is starting to make me motion sick. Movement as whole is getting nauseating in the game. Been biting my tongue for a long time waiting for it to improve, figuring it was baby steps to something better, but it is not. It's moon walking to a worse experience.

    To play Devil's Advocate:

The reason Baro's stock is so much repeats is because of the original demands of the player community. Remember, people? When Baro came around a second time and EVERYONE lost their COLLECTIVE S**T because he wasn't carrying the Mara Detron. There were megathreads about his rotation of stock and when would items in his stock rotate back in.

Back then he had like five items per visit, if I remember correctly. So a decision was made to most people's relief that only one or two items in his stock are new with the rest being repeats from previous times he showed up. This is by necessity to ensure a somewhat equal distribution of important stuff, namely mods and weapons. Just so happens that the newest stuff released has mostly consisted of Cosmetics, but still follows the rule of one or two new items and the rest repeats.

This is also because these items likely siphon a bit too much Dev time and resources. You need to concept out what you want, you need artists to make the skin/model/panorama, test it out and then implement it in Baro's stock.

And now look at it from a newer player's perspective. Baro's stock is not bad. It has some nice mods, a weapon. Boat load of cosmetics. Just because you or even I don't find anything in his stock worth buying, doesn't mean it's garbage by default.

In the context of Baro, spy mission rewards are absolute garbage.

Playing and farming solo is really tough considering you'll have to have a good weapon, a good amp and probably using the madurai focus school.

I use chroma, a 7 forma rubico and a rubico riven to one shot a teralyst and the maximum I was able to do in a group was 4 teralysts captured in one night. If I was to do solo, the maximum I could do is 2 (because teleporting). The amount of time and investment to prepare this set up is... well lets not talk about it.

I understand the situation you're in, teralysts are like one of those dungeon bosses where you need a proper group to battle and get loot efficiently. I'm pretty sure Digital Extremes did not intend the fight to be battled solo but you could do it if you want. You could farm bombalysts if your goal is to just increase quills standings for the meantime. Because the intact sentient cores were already buffed so buffing the exceptional cores another time, well... I'm totally okay with it.

It would just make warframe less grindy and we all want that. Warframe is a free to play game but a business nonetheless. The free to play here means not spending a single dime. But for me, it's a grind to pay game, you still have to give in something, which is your time and that to me is more precious than money. It seems like this update Digital Extremes is causing more people to come online to grind because there are no other way to farm for Quills standings other than to put your time into the mix. You can't buy the amp components and can't buy the cetus wisps other than to put your effort.

Oh and farming for the amps is pointless for now because I don't see a situation that I could use outside of eidolon hunting. Plus getting the arcane rewards is not that beneficial considering the components needed to craft it still require grinding.

All reasonable stuff here. The one thing I don't like is my mastery for amps hidden behind a shard wall at the 44k level, which means 10 times, I have to either deal w "git gud" k'teerholes while learning to fight in a team or take my chances pugging or surviving DE's myriad of technical problems that has plagued PoE since it dropped. All these possibilities plus the grind plus DE's tendency to confuse tedium w difficulty makes the idea of fighting a teralyst and therefore grind through Quill standing unappetizing.

Edit note: Though, this doesn't matter much in low end play, 1st hit will kill most times. In high end though, it can make a huge difference.

That's one of the toughest parts too, testing stuff out, outside of simularum. Good melee builds needs some tough enemies in general. With no real data/facts to back up this statement, High status weapons with 4-6 statuses possible + condition overload, wrecks things. If you know you're going to be running straight melee, or mostly, weeping wounds will build up your status chance too w the combo count.

I actually like the archwing, and I think DE has done a lot for this game. There are a lot of things that I really enjoy when playing it, and the story is very captivating. I also don't mind having to do a few unlikeable/boring/tedious things, in exchange for things that I want. However, this new event of this feels like a chore. Not an enjoyable game, that I can play after work to blow off steam. Instead, when I get off work I feel like I have to do more work.... Now the journal frags dropping as RNG, and the dupes giving you nothing, it definitely makes getting the lore a tedious and aggravating task. It's a huge pain in the f-ing @$$.

Just to humor DE, I tried running the bounties for 8-10 hours, each run lasting 15-20 minutes. I still haven't unlocked a *single* complete entry. If you're gonna make em rng rewards, why not give out the complete codes, instead of just pieces? It honestly doesn't make sense to me. Even though I seriously love the game, and some of the things that DE has done, this really wasn't an enjoyable event for me. I would've gained as much from ignoring the event altogether... well, with the exception of the new fan-blade stance.

The problem is, for players who have been around a long time, the grind just increases and they make changes that negate time and money invested in the game. It gets one's ire up eventually.

It just overall really was a sub optimal way of getting the lore into the game but I have a feeling that it was probably due to time constraints (hopefully) that it was just injected into the game via loot tables and that this is not going to become a regular thing in the future. If however it was always intended to be this way, from the bottom of my heart I hope DE recognizes it as a huge mistake that will not be repeated in the future.

I totally agree, just thought incursions would make it palatable anyway!

That last bit there is exactly why DE needs to be very careful and why I don't think they have changed it over the years, instead opting to keep it in circulation and quasi stable by bringing the event back.

Because it isn't the people who hoarded it that they need to be concerned about making "salty" it's all the people who spent a metric boatload of plat to get it. The last thing you want to do as a F2P game is tick off the people who have demonstrated they are willing to give you money.

    Way too late for that

Spot on. Fortunately, my girl and I received both weapon BP and the Fan Stance our first run. We did two more runs over three days...the last one, without using Rhino Prime...and that's when we determined we would NEVER run a Ghoul bounty again: because its non-stop enemy cheese. Knockdown spam, grappling hooks (that even grab you through Iron Skin) cold and toxic AoE procs (when you kill the enemy, no less; nothing like being PUNISHED FOR SUCCEEDING) etc. Its everything about the most annoyingly tedious zombie rush games you have ever played, combined in one lackluster event.

So make it recurring. And then I will have another recurring reason (beside Bad Star) to NOT visit PoE when an event is active. I mean, lets face it, this event, like Awful Star, existed for ONE reason: To be tedious for anyone not using Archwing to run it, so as to force more fishing and crafting, thereby extending Time Played.

Amen about crap enemies. Death procs...gross. Nox is annoying enough.

With the rate they drop they should be guaranteed on completion AND in the drop table.

Because if they are just guaranteed you are looking at ~6-8.7 hours of grind just on the missions. That establishes a baseline at the very minimum you are OMGWTFBBQ unlucky and never get a drop from RNG you will at least know it will take you a maximum of 6-(lets just say nine) hours, if you run the missions at ~7-10min a pop.

With the addition of the possibility of getting the drops from the RNG it helps to take the "edge" off. Since each RNG drop would be like winning back 7-10 min of your life. I might even say that the Ghouls should have a chance at dropping the lore.

Tho the problem there is that once you have completed the lore or if the player in question has zero interest in the lore the lore is a 100% dead drop. That said I come from a place where I do very much do enjoy the games lore. However at the same time there are places where I draw the line and this for me is one of them.

So far the response I've seen from DE was something to the effect of, don't worry the event will be back and you can get them later.... problem is that because of the horrible drop rates and potential of insane amounts of time wasted ..... I really don't care if the event comes back or not, I am not grinding for hours for the chance at (arguably interesting) in game lore only to come up empty handed because of RNG. Been there done that... no thanks.

    .

As far as putting them into other maps as a cephalon/somachord like spawn that you can scan. I'm cool with that with a few caveats. While I did/do enjoy the Somachord giving me a reason to care about the cehphalon fragment icon again. I do NOT want to see the fragment/somachord spawn watered down any more than it is right now. As it stands its a 50/50 if they added in Ghoul lore you would be looking at 33/33/33 and if they ad something else it drops to 25/25/25/25 etc etc etc. If they are going to do something like that it either needs to be it's own spawn. Or it needs to be an intelligent spawn that pulls only from the pools of items that players have not yet completed. However that second option would make it very difficult to waypoint for others because I might get a Somachrod someone else might get a Cephalon Fragment and the other two might have gotten Ghoul Lore. Tho I suppose at the very least each person would still be getting something they needed regardless of what it was.

I had a thought, that these would have been good as the incursion reward during this event. And after completed, some other reward. I mean, there's zero reason to do incursions as it is.

I totally agree. Was going to start a thread on the matter, but since you did it 1st I'll use yours.

Every time I think "whew, now I'm finally done with bounties", you throw a bounty based event. Listen, DE: bounties are boring as hell. Its half a dozen parts that you have to repeat over and over again. Sorry if you guys thought "all people will love bounties" and now you are trying to understand why people don't do them. It is not (only) because reward table sucks, it is not (only) because the ammount of reputation was too low. It is because they are boring. As in VERY boring. Plain and simple.

If the fragments were a guaranteed drop per the bounty, making them 50+ times would be enough suffering. But hiding them behind another RNG wall? This is ridiculous. Stop trying to force bounties and stop hiding behind RNG walls things that are not supposed to.

Unfortunately, they don't care about forcing (see: archwing) unwanted game types on us. One great thing would be to drop the horrible defense time for the armored one and the secure the location one to a minute or something. The other ones are quick enough. I even like the drone one, but yeah, even from the start these bounties were fatiguing. I've already gotten 8 stubba beeps and three of the stance, but only one segment. Another thing too, when/if you actually complete the entry, what happens if you roll another segment drop? Do you just get nothing?

I doubt it is only veteran players that do this. I have encountered plenty of new players that do the same. Hey, I ran an Ember the other day and got abused by an MR4 player. Because I was stealing all their kills with WoF (FYI, WoF was not even active once).

    Stop blaming Vet players exclusively.

I am a vet player, I am more likely to help you than be rude or toxic. Most vet players I encounter are the same. I have found far more low MR/new players that are rude or toxic.

    This.

I find most vets excellent at helping and being good teammates and knowing their rolls en mission and knowing that less experienced folks will make mistakes as this game requires a lot of knowledge.

Then you get folks complaining that you let them die, when there were many good reasons to let them, too far away, too dangerous, objective, etc...

All I can tell you is spent alot less on this game than that and had alot of fun, even with some of the frustrating loot RNG slot wheel mechanics I have experienced and crazy grind systems(Mesa, Excalibur, Limbo, Chroma, Equinox). I play for fun, to find interesting people to goof off and geek out with, and to look cool. This game delivers that in spades and for no obligation to buy. I find it funny that one guy angrily proclaims he doesn't spend a dime in this game because DE sucks and another says I've spent hundreds but DE sucks.

Meanwhile if I honestly tabulated my total cost of this game, Ive spent mere dollars per month playing in game(thats not including breaks from the game) and with the exception of super rare items I manage to get almost everything I set out to acquire.

I like a lot of the game. I don't much like the company or many of its decisions.

  15. Sometimes when I fade to black while operator, instead of spawning back to where my warframe is, I spawn a long way away. This past mission I was near extraction and spawned all the way back where we started. I've had this happen when dashing over an edge and going into deep water in poe. Past one was a regular earth jungle mission.

  16. So, my dutiful frost is running a bounty PoE style, got the old secure the location, hold out then kill remaining enemies.

Well, the first two went ok, then w three idiots left, I exploded an old snow globe, launching two of said idiots into the lower stratosphere. At some point, they landed. One, I was able to snipe on a far hill. The other went much further away and I could not kill him because of the hills between us and to get to him I was abandoning the mission.

  17. 1 hour ago, Snib said:

And that's not even mentioning the problem that even your proposed name "primary basics" is misleading since neither are those mods universally usable on all primary weapons nor, as I already mentioned, are they all "basic".

Please, continue clinging to an off the cuff example as a concrete example.

Not sure I agree with your reasoning about selling them not being easier. In no way did I say these mods are difficult to obtain, yet folks still ask for them in trade. As to the whole scam aspect, impression of being an 'official' pack, are you kidding? If a player agrees to buy a set of mods and the set and plat exchanged are what were agreed to, how is that a scam?

Let's say you have a [weapon damage] package, with point blank, pressure point, serration, hornet strike, you can get what 5-10 plat for them? So you can get rid of all of them at once for say 25p and use only one trade. Again, this is an example.

Just thought it'd be nice to group up some of these low level mods to unclutter the inventory beyond credits or endo.

  18. 7 hours ago, Snib said:

See, I already disagree that Shred is a "basic" mod. And that's just one of the many reasons why this isn't a good suggestion.

So I throw an example name out there and you blow off the whole idea as not good based on the word basic and is your only reason listed out of "many"?
