1. As was the case last year with the open world missions, yet another session at launch where I invest upwards of an hour into a bounty only for one persistent mission type to bug out consistently and waste the afternoon.

I guess I'll do like last year and wait until January to play it :\. I really don't feel like progressing at one or two bounties at a time before RNG decides I've played long enough.

I like onslaught. I think its one of the most fun game modes thus far.

so its a little buggy. you haven't noticed in your 5~ years of playing WF that everything is buggy on release?

    Point taken.

But I have noticed in my ~4 years of playing Warframe when something seems to be designed to intentionally ramp up in "difficulty" close to parts or blueprints dropping that people are playing the mode to get. And, in fact, they are playing it to such an extent to get those drops that the moment they do get the drops they can't look at the game mode without feeling nauseous at the thought of even seeing the words on the UI.

Onslaught isn't difficult. It isn't all that challenging. It's just rubberband depletion intended to artficially draw out playtime by frustrating the player into grinding out more time in a system they actually don't have any control over. Thus resorting to cheeeeeeeeeeze in order to mitigate.

Congratz. We have an "endgame" system that rewards the worst tendencies of players who trivialize content in order to jump straight to the carrots that the devs dangle on sticks.

It's 2018 and we are STILL in the midst of this awful arm's race players and devs are waging to see who can invalidate the others efforts more.

This is ruining the game. Stop. It.

I personally dont care for how this mode was designed, it forces you to bring the cheesiest most broken things in your arsenal, and even then it is not enough when you are soloing elite. I brought my most powerful saryn build I had and still could not solo elite onslaught 😞

This so much. My partner is excited for this mode and refers to it as "endgame" but personally I feel like it just encourages the most low-effort style of play imaginable just to make some imaginary doot-point meter go up. It never feels as though I have any control over the efficiency of the imaginary doot-point score, the points fluctuate as they wish even if I'm murdering every single thing on screen with melee or 4 spamming. Simaris is both chastizing and commending our noteworthy performance, and we keep "Failing" with S ranks all the while.

This is the most manic-depressive game mode I've ever seen from any publisher.

It's like getting a thumbs up but the thumb is knuckle deep inside my skull cavity and the game is telling me to shut my mouth when I speak up but also to take initiative while I wait patiently for my turn to talk in this couterlateral linear conversation of silence. Am I meant to try harder or uninstall the game? I just don't know.

  4. So I've been running Plague Star like crazy and decided to jump back into Onslaught since playing it a few times last week with friends after we tried it for the first time last week.

Our general impression the first time prior to release was the community in a uproar because it was coming yet none of us really knew what the hell Onslaught was supposed to be exactly. You'd thought it was like Endless Kuva or Plague Star itself. So we ran a few matches, got to round 11 on normals, switched to elite and got to 8 or so then. "Failed"/Ended with a A+ or S usually and went back to Plague Star after getting some loot. Overall "okay" mission type and a fun way to blow off steam by killing things.

Tried it again a week later, alone, and went with elite. HOLY CRAP what a difference a week makes.

This time I wasn't with friends and instead partnered with Randos and I don't know if it was just the "luck" of my draw but jesus this mission type is bringing out the worst of every possible tendency I've ever heard crosstalk about on this game.

We got backseat chatters cussing out people for picking up the glowing tokens too early or too late, passive aggressive name calling left and right after matches when we "fail" with an average of an A+ ranking, people spamming 4 to rack up kills to get a higher score, annoyances because one persons' four is killing another persons' four target and wasting their energy.

    Holy. Ballz.

I haven't seen conduct like this since I used to play League of Legends with co-workers a few years back.

So, conduct side of things. I've never really known Warframe to be a game with "toxic" behavior in chat at least. Let alone people who would go out of their way to call each other trashbags or idiots on CONSOLE. Admittedly I have no idea what increasing points will net you specifically. I like the idea that I have builds that can chew through enemies, but I'm not salty if we "lose" with a A+ ranking since, you know, I have no clue whatsoever what would possibly benefit me to end with a S++ ranking instead?

Maybe it's because I've been running plague star where I've been getting all kinds of stuff for 5-15 minutes of work and coming away feeling satisfied from that grind? And those randos seem immeasureably gratified for you carrying or cooperating with them as per usual Warframe conduct. It's just weird. What's got people so salty about Onslaught in particular? Am I missing something? Does a fraction of these points get converted into Simaris standing? Do we get finished Potatoes or Plat Discount Vouchers? Cosmetics? What's turning people into D1 Forum Lurkers?

Next up, I'm perfectly fine with people spamming 4 to get higher numbers. I've been solo for years until recently so I get that struggle, I'm not asking for a nerf. But isn't this basically just a way for Devs to see "Oh Loki's 4 can actually NUKE A ROOM FULL OF A LEVEL 75 CORPUS, we should do something about this becuase no one has ever considered this before and now everyone's doing it to get high points for all that free Plat we are apparently giving away for Onslaught S+++ rank players" (sarcasm) and nerf those frames? I don't want to get my tinfoil hat on or anything but it seems like nothing good can come from this trend o_o.

Any thoughts on this or am I crazy?

  5. Hi, just as the title implies, I cannot invite or join individual people via chat or the friends list without one of those errors occurring. I though it was my connection at first and didn't know how to fix on my side.

However, bless them, the person I was chatting with figured out an hour later we could still conduct business in Maroo's Bazaar and to my surprise he also mentioned he's experiencing the same error(s).

Is this server wide on PS4 or just a coincidence that both of us are having the same matchmaking issue? I don't see any talk about it anywhere but the again it is Saturday.

  6. Not sure why, but I tried the highest ranked bounty for the first time today and went smoothly until phase 3.

In phase 3 I had to sabotage a few items but it made me kill a bunch of enemies first. No biggie. Afterward the marker told me to run across the open world but when I left the zone it told me I was "abandoning the objective". After stalling for a minute and seeing another timer ticking away if I stayed idle too long in the zone, I decided to head to the marker since that was my only indication of what to do and the objective was still at "0/3".

I left the zone, failed, was prompted to start over again :\. Wasn't really very fun so I backed out.

This is obviously a bug, but doesn't bode well for multi-stage, time intensive missions that can just slip out from your grasp without warning. I'll wait until next update to try again, I hear some economy changes are coming too and I'd rather try PoE after the QoL stuff lands.

Great stuff so far though, I just don't want to sink time and not get a return.

People which are higher level might have better Captura scenes, which is a disadvantage for low-level players.

Don't get discouraged! The saying "Art Through Adversity" is a thing because if you don't have as many resources as more prolific competitors, that means that the content you generate by process of elimination will be uniquely yours and thus, stand out against the others. Just follow the rules of the contest as closely as possible and do the best with what you have.

Instead of trying to win the contest pick another goal. Mine was to convince my friends to give the game another try.

Also, just saying, when I was making my video I found captura to be very time consuming per the 25 second restriction. This is a game where the controls and mobility are front and center. So give em hek :P.

  8. I don't have many resources but I figured I'd make the most of what I had and make the best version of whatever is at my disposal. Hopefully the end result is worth a second glance.

    So many takes.

    So many takes...

Great tips for new players, I think i could use them myself when i start off on PC

Sweet, I'm glad to hear that :D. I use PS4 obviously so I would imagine the PC controls are more intuitive than they are with a controller.

  10. Hello everyone,

Admittedly I've been sort of an &#! on these forums as burnout took it's toll on my enthusiasm for the game a few months back. I was the last of my group to cling to the game and it was a slow burn before needing a break. Sincere apologies. But with The Plains of Eidolon announcement, my girlfriend has gone all in with this series for the first time since a couple years back when it first came out. I wanted to make a great impression but not bog her down with modding/trading meta so I made this video guide as a way to outline game mechanics and not game systems.

I don't want to come off as audacious but I think what I made might be useful for convincing people to try Warframe who may like the hack and slash mechanics of the game but not exactly be too keen with all of the plat farming and build guides on youtube. Anyway, please let me know what you think. It's the first time I'm using a lot of the programs and equipment I've gathered for this project so please bear that in mind.

  11. Another Warframe event, another trip to the forums to figure out what the hell is actually happening. Yaaaaaay.

So my group and I did two missions, on the first one we got a high score, on the second we got a smaller score, combined together it was about 531,000. That score is represented on the event log, but when we try and score more the additional totals are not added. That was a couple of hours ago and now it's late and we have work in the morning. Fun event, I feel as though tonight was well spent.

But saltiness aside, what the hell is this score and how do we achieve the 1000000 score? Is it accumulated or do we hit a benchmark? Is the objective of destroying the Death Star a priority or in DE fashion is that just some rigamarole to distract you from what they REALLY intend for you to do?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, stop going guns ablazing and stop setting off alarms.

    >_>......... So just invalidate 90% of the frames and guns to avoid this meaningless chore of a game feature. This is why when I come back to Warframe it's like this feature contradicts everything the game sells itself for (both in advertising terms as well as feature-wise to make it stand out from other titles). Ultimately it makes me feel like "Oh, yeah. That S#&$. *Siiiiigh* This is boring."

Ahhh, so it is the "won't accept any answer that doesn't fit into your world view of things." Thank you for letting me know that I shouldn't acknowledge you anymore.

And likewise, you are the "the devs told me I wasn't using my arms enough so they broke my kneecaps- thank you so much devs xxxoxoxox". Thank you for letting me know that your opinion is invalidated because your'e clearly a fanboy and the game can do no wrong.

  14. NOTE: It appears some fanboys are outright ignoring this detail that's literally in all caps hyperbolically a few lines down but I'm not referring to general alarms or friendship doors (those are fine at racheting up tension) I'm referring to the aspect of the game where the challenge/content/fun comes to a full stop and makes you play a mini game so you can get back to the game you want.

Additionally here are some great bits of advice from fellow Tenno:

-It's realistic, so it's okay if it isn't fun.

-Just don't use 90% of the frames or weapons in this game that you probably started playing in order to try for yourself.

    -Git Gud!!!

Anyone else got any helpful contributions? Let us know below!

    ----------

So I took a 8 month break with Warframe, Eidolon and the annual summer gaming drought brought me back into it. I'm having a good time overall, mostly spending it by buying a prime access and power leveling items. So then I go into a mission and-

"THE DOORS HAVE BEEN LOCKED DOWN, TIME TO HACK" The Lotus says...

...and immediately I let out a long, dull, spiteful groan until the air in my lungs is spent and I am greeted by the reminder that I have to play an annoying mini-game to get back to the game I actually wanted to play... and I'm gonna have to do it at least 3 times per mission if I want to go guns ablazing.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy stealth, I like bows, Banshee is a beast in sortie stealth missions without completely breaking the game.

But lockdown is by far the worst mechanic I've ever encountered in this game.

NOTE: Let's assume I don't want to waste resources as a bugfix, nor do I want to go out of my way to find a console to hack- but I'll still at least have to do that >_<.

In fact, I'd rank them in the same category as Nullifiers, since Nullifiers basically take a game that hooks you on the promise of power and then immediately takes power away from you to invent artificial difficulty. If you don't use a caster frame and play this game in the way that Nullfiers and "git-gude" players say you should (like any other shooter on the market devoid of creativity) then you can shoot your way around them or knife them, because COD. However if you do use a Caster Frame, LUL, your stacking of buffs is gonna have to be eaten because the game decided you were enjoying it too much. The game pretty much slaps your hand and says "NO- BAD!!! F*** YOU FOR USING ALL OF THESE POWERS WE GAVE YOU!"

Lockdown, on the other hand, affects every Warframe that makes noise- which is going to be the vast majority of new players who don't quite have a handle on the stealth mechanics of this game. Hell, I've played this game for almost 3 years and it wasn't until early last year that I realized how to completely ghost a mission and how much fun that could be. There's no tutorial for that, it's just sort of there waiting for you to figure out the various phases of enemy attentiveness. (1. Unalert, 2. What's that? 0.5 chance they hit the alarm. 3. Searching- okay hit the alarm because it's realistic and that makes for a fun minigame. 4. Okay guess it was nothing- F*** it let's hit the alarm because we love the sound it makes XD)

Sure, it's petty and trivial to nitpick this one small and AMAZINGLY forgettable detail about the game. But it's when I'm playing other games and wishing that they had to the knee-jerk twitch controls and the mobile reaction that Warframe has that I forget just how game-breaking and infuriating "lockdown" really is.

It effectively instructs players in a bipolar fashion "Come play Warframe! We're running on walls and shooting things in the head! Look at these stances and how fast you can sword-fight these enemies- holy crap look at that bastard with the fire-sword! How about that chick who literally just shrank and is flying around like a jet- WHOA WHOA WHOA WHY THE HELL ARE YOU GOING SO FAST?! NO! NOOOOOO!!!! STAHP IT NOW. PLAY THIS MINIGAME AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID! That'll teach you."

Also, has lockdown ever worked for any enemy faction? Does that enhance the fun of the game for anyone who doesn't start their posts with "Actually I am all over any decision the Dev's make because I know them personally and also Trinity should get a nerf as a healing frame she's too good at healing! It's why I broke my own kneecaps because I wasn't using my arms enough!" I mean, why? Is it because people were speedrunning back in 2013 and there was no other way to make them slow down through the few earnest tile-sets Digital Extremes was churning out with the budget they had at the time? Wasn't that a byproduct of there not having a wide enough array of mission types or activities to do so people felt inclined to just speed through content while waiting for more content? People complain that in 2017 Warframe doesn't have anything to do but compared to 2013 this is like a game that's 5 times as big at least.

So there's that. That's annoying. It's antiquated. And not fun.

Also, this is just a side note but I'm formaing a Frame and took it through a mission only to die at the end of it and actually lose a level I just gained O_o.

Because that is going to incentivize me to go back to that mission and play it more??????? I'd hate to invoke the name "Draco" but it's shenanigans like that which make people turn to power leveling more than actually leveling in the solar system. They stand to not only level at a pitifully slower pace, but you're actively taking XP away from them while they're following the advice of the threads to "git gude".

I mean, it's no problem for me. I can go power level! But I'm just saying... When I tried to go to a mission to play 'correctly' I actually was punished and my impression is to never do that again. Ever. Power level on the side, THEN go play normal missions.

If it really bothers you, make 3 friends and play with them exclusively. People shouldn't have to cater to what you think the squad should be comprised of.

No, no. This is a PvE Co-op community. You clearly miss the point entirely.

We are SUPPOSED to micromanage and shun each other. It's harmless fun to shame a player for using a Warframe or weapon we don't like, it's not like Dev's take it to heart and nerf Warframes and Weapons if players don't care about being shamed by their critics teammates.

    Oh wait,...Dev's totally do that

Bemoaning the fact that the devs are partying rather than working and answering questions I guess?

    Yeah, I guess. Pfft.

For the scrubs who don't know, this isn't an issue it's a bug fix that you are misinterpretting. You see, players have been exploiting a number of pre-existing bugs revolving around ruining the game balance and so to combat this and allow players, to play the game as it was always intended, DE has scaled back your ability to log in. Some scrubs who play games to have fun rather than earn respect form strangers may cry "Nerf" but that's not what this is at all. That's a very ignorant way of putting it. It's merely a rework that you are upset about so you are complaining for pity and it just isn't going to work. Not today. Not on OUR WATCH.

Now, just be patient and at some point in a conterlateral period of space you will be able to log in again. At that point it will take a mixture of nitain, cryotic, and sortie completion tokens to earn the right to log in again.

Trading needs to be a little more than just a little more than just a prime and mod market. If it only lived up to the word trading.

Trade CHAT has always been there to service veteran players who have the patience to sit there all @(*()$ afternoon unblinkingly and narrow down/hunt for the one person looking to buy or sell the thing they want at the price they accept.

It is NOT inviting to new players.

It is NOT accessible to even the most experience casual players.

Trade chat is just horrible. I'd rather be playing the game then watching a big wall of text fly by and waiting to wait as my turn comes up to type something into the waterfall of solicitations or "funny" posts people post in to flood/pollute the stream.

Get over yourselves and stop congesting the community with your "work doesn't end at 5 o'clock" rhetoric. That's why this game is too hard until you play meta then laughably easy afterward save for some cheese the devs bestowed enemy mobs in the arms race you tryhards are having to cheese their content in the first place to GET ALL THE THINGS AND LURN.

Christ..This is the most uncooperative co-op game I've ever been a part of. I've never seen a PvE game that is so volatile to it's teammates since Destiny Year One.

  18. WAIT A SECOND... Are you telling me that there's a difference between TRIVIALIZING player progression and CHALLENGING player investment!??!!?

So there are games that don't rely on DPS/DoT/Pre-fire/Stunlock/Damage Resistence/Damage Immunity/Power Nullification to engage and challenge players without making them regret spending real life money on formaing gear which has been nerfed or powercreeped into irrelevance reworked for balance optimization???

Right OP, whatever. Next you're gonna tell me that there are boss fights where you can actually fight the boss without waiting for them to do the thing so you can do the thing and then they'll do the thing that let's you take off a 10th of their health but only for a 4 seconds window of time until it's time for you to do the other thing but only when you wear the chicken suit first (otherwise you have to start over at the beginning of the level for a nominal fee of 10% XP gain).

I´ve found them mostly in alert missions, the leech bloody worm player just leaves the keyboard (or alt+tab) and return half hour after to accept the mission complete screen (with affinity and mission rewards). I´m really tired of this kind of rat kids, It should be an auto-kick before x seconds of inactivity.

So... People complain when players use Draco to skimp past the terrible leveling pace this game is plagued with... Youtubers even giggled obnoxiously that there would be rage on the forums because people would have to actually "play the game" so they could play the game.

And now you're complaining because people are relying on you to carry them so they can progress in the game since everyone else got Draco nerfed and they have nowhere to go to literally "git on ur level"...

...Yup, you made your bed. Goodnight ;).

  20. Remember when you used to beat a game and the title was simply "You Win"?

Naw... Now we have to ramp up difficulty for everyone so that if you aren't the No-lifer Try-hard that can beat the game by sleepwalking through it then "You Lose"- or as the cool kids say "Git Gude"- then the cool kids will still complain it's too easy and F*** it up for everyone else.

*sigh* DE Steve already promised more "challenging" content. So rest assured, there will be more ramparts in narrow corridors, stunlock missiles that will track you to hell itself, power nullification, damage mitigation, damage immunity, and staggar mechanics to invalidate even the most meticulously crafted builds. Work won't end when we leave the office in the afternoon and we'll all have to clock in at our lisets and grind so we can grind some more...

I don't get this community anymore.

Its just something that has bugged me but why do people whine about something being overpowered in a game that is primarily PVE? Is it just a pride thing when a low level player steals your kills.

I get that it means that players will just use it to get to the end faster but that is their choice.

You think it's mystifying now? Wait until you begin formaing a weapon or frame that everyone shames just to get an edge on broken enemy scaling, only for Devs to stealth-nerf it down the line and youtubers/forum warriors to celebrate it later on. Meanwhile, enemy scaling still isn't fixed and the levels of enemy cheese tactics involving flat damage immunity, power trivialization, and stunlocking are still being employed as a means of making the game "more challenging". (At this point I blame the community more than the Dev's for the enemy cheese we have to deal with- all of the epeen no-lifers who cry that the game is "too easy" wind up getting all of us punished with awful game mechanics).

This is why I stopped buying platinum. Why purchase or invest in something that will be completely reworked because someone you never met takes umbrage with you playing the game the way they deem is "wrong" or in some cases "a cancer to gaming culture"???

This community is verging on a path of petty self-destructiveness which hasn't been seen since the days of Destiny Year One.

Why is (to my knowledge) Jupiter the only planet that drops neural sensors?

What is the most efficient way of farming them in their current state(aside from tossing salad V)?

and have any of you had constant issues with maintaining a decent supply of sensors?

Well DESteve said that once the new starchart comes out resources will be better distributed AND you'll have more reasons to visit Jupiter itself outside of farming at a reduced level.

Also there's the Smeeta cat which halves your total amount of grind in the game so you can spend more time playing the game as you wish rather than getting ready to play the game as you wish...
