This might be the best solution. With the current system you cannot, for example, use a heavy slam attack after aimgliding - except by attacking first (very unpleasant with a slow weapon) or staying in dedicated melee mode (also unpleasant after getting used to the new flexibility). Just as you cannot use altfire without aiming first, which admittedly isn't really a problem - having to aim to use melee combos is annoying though.

In other words: The melee button would be "switch to melee" while holding a gun, while the shoot button would be "switch to gun" while holding a melee weapon. Sounds almost frighteningly sensible.

    Traumtuple gets it!

With the current system you cannot switch to gun via shooting either - same way how block was not available for for melee prior. You sacrifice GUN instead of block.

    They switched tit for tat.

My suggestion offers a solution that allows both to co-exist within their own state whilst also allowing the flow of before.

  2. Hello.

So the new melee stuff is fine. Combos feel fine, channeling replaced with super duper heavy is fine. Happy to have block back and all of that, and I'm sure others are too.

What limits this new melee update, and it's something I've shouted about in the past (which of course, got ignored) is:

You don't. Need. Hold to switch. The quickswitch in Melee 2.9 was incredible, it brought about amazing flow to the game's combat. Truly wonderful. The problem with that was that blocking wasn't around, right? Understandable, but the solution is simpler. Let me break it down.

Old system: Press [Melee] to switch into full set of melee actions. > Press [Aim] or [Shoot] to switch into GUN and all it's features.

The more perceptive of you already see the problem with this. There's no reason for GUN to have 2 buttons which trigger it.

My solution: Press [Melee] to switch into full set of melee actions. Press [Aim] to block. > Press [Shoot] to switch to GUN. Press [Aim] to aim GUN.

This makes hold-switch obsolete, as both weapons gain their full set of actions, without any drawbacks.

    Conclusion:

Press [Melee] to attack with your currently equipped Melee Weapon and aquire it's full set. [Aim] becomes block.

Press [Shoot] to shoot with your currently equipped GUN and aquire it's full set. [Aim] becomes aim.

I would love to hear the explanation as to why this hasn't been added in the first place. But that won't happen.

So instead I hope to see this simple implementation in a reasonably close update.

    Thank you.

  3. Examples of problems: Argonak, Cernos Prime, Larkspur, Stradavar(Prime)  - basically any weapons that toggle between TWO fire modes. There's 2 buttons. 2 fire modes. Simple logic.

Examples of solutions: Ferrox, Scourge, Tenora, Hind, Quanta, Phantasma - most of the weapons actually have this problem solved already. Imagine if Ferrox toggled between shoot and throw. Yuck!

Examples of exceptions where the system works: Tiberon Prime - it has 3 fire types. Alternate Toggle works in this case.

At this point it feels like an oversight, and it's incosistent. Let's have it fixed shall we? Pretty please!

  4. I've just started using Frost, he is a buff popsickle (Kama joke) boye and super fun to use! And I already came up with a few ideas to make him even more fun.

    Freeze

Holding the button creates a mist like Chroma's Spectral Scream. Alternatively holding it charges a mist type frost blast with limited reach but wide range.

The patch of ice can either slow down enemies or make them "slip and fall" aka get knocked down. Maybe that can be a peculiar mod where they fall with a goofy sound effect instead of slow!

    Ice Wave

Deployed from mid-air, it creates one of these 3 effects instead. (up to DE's discretion, DEscretion if you will)

    \ | /

3-fold forward trail (in front of Frost)

    +

    4-way trail (around Frost)

    O

    Circle AoE (around Frost)

    Snow Globe

Holding the button allows Frost to "call back" the globes.

This is useful in situations where your placement hinders more than helps and sitting waiting for it to disappear is not fun.

Can explode it by hitting it with Freeze but calling them back can give back 10 - 25% of the energy used casting them, depending on the number of globes cast, thus making it potentially worth it.

If synergy between warframes ever becomes a thing, Zephyr can let's say, use tornado inside the bubble making it build up pressure and causing a huge cold-blast when hit with Freeze.

    Avalanche

Could use a better effect, maybe even more snow, take advantage of the new L U D I C R O U S FX system!

    LEAPCHARGE

His charge can also be a leap forward if aimed above ground.

Kinda like The Hulk, but not as insane in verticality (it's still meant to be forward after all). He is the heaviest frame, but also strong enough to carry all that weight! Would serve as adding a bit more mobility as well as looking cool.

    D I V E S T O M P

Stomp available from mid-air for a massive version.

I cannot stress how cool that would be! Like Zephyr's Airstrike, Rhino can launch/let himself fall feet first like a spear dealing massive aerial stomp damage. And his passive would tie into it as well.

YOU TELL ME THAT WOULDN'T BE THE COOLEST.

(could not for the life of me find a picture properly portraying it, imagine a dropkick but vertical kek)

If you guys are looking to make Primes stand out more as well, then these changes can definitely be applied to the Prime counter-part only.

  6.    Hello!

Some quick things that bothered me while I was playing and would like to see fixed/improved.

-Both Mods and Arsenal should have all the sorting categories. The Arsenal one is lacking compared to Mods.
-Ability to sort mods by weapons, rifle, shotgun, bow, etc, etc. Not new tabs, primary should be primary and all that, but I bet there's people out there like me that don't have a type of weapon and want to easily skip over that weapon's mods instead of them popping out here and there.

As I said,I would very much like to see that, just to neat things out  when managing your mods.

If anyone has any more ideas regarding this, feel free to complete below!
    Cheers!
