  1. This could have been just a usual day, yesterday I did a quick 20 rounds of this endurance thingy with my friends, so that was something different, nice really, and all those mods...

Today I wasn't really into playing much WF, I should have sticked to that, but my friend just said he let's do this sortie today.

Looked at it, defense and interception as 2nd and 3rd, time consuming, but well, let's do it.

1st was a rescue, vs. Grineer all that, so no challenge at all.

2nd one was super challenging for finding a group, we tried 15 minutes really hard, no luck, was just a def vs Grineer so we 2 jumped into it, promptly getting 2 randoms.

One of them was afk for 7/10 waves, and had no CP ofc (was MR 15 or so), the other was MR 21 and had a shield disrupt aura, that's right, shield disrupt vs Grineer, and they had augmented armor plus it was a yourAnus lvl which really slowed things down, took like forever.

Then again, hard time finding a group for the 3rd, had some people saying "oh I thought 'bring corrosive!' meant bring corrosive dmg!" and stuff.

Best thing was someone joining our group (whispering me for inv) to then tell me to stop spamming the recruit channel, and staying in group so I had to re-invite. (There is no other way, why?! Just one of those little things I "love" about WF...)

3rd was a interception, whereas the saying "an interception is never a challenge" was true again, even though it was a really annoying map for that.

And this again brought to my mind, why I (MR 16.999) play this game only because of my friends, and only with them because then it is only mildly annoying, but beware if I have to resort to random players.

I can't, by any means, understand why WF is successful at all, there also are so many things that are just super annoying in this game, which would take 5 minutes each to fix but just stay for years as no one cares or they are even intended.

But this is not, by far not, the most annoying part about WF.

The far, far most incredible experience that is WF, is the community.

In my 20 years of online gaming experience, I have NEVER ...EVER had such an outright toxic community, whereas far most players you meet are impolite to say the least, and trust me, I am always friendly and helpful ingame, whereas most players are an incredible combination of arrogance and stupidity.

Honestly, I have never seen anything like this before, it is on a whole different level than anything else.

    Why, seriously, why?

  2. This sounds like OP demanding things he dosnt know the cost of or how badly it will slow down all future progress.  If you have a problem, host the games yourself.

Yes. I've been in games where the host would suddenly drop dead, but I always end up being transferred the responsibility of host and suffer no lashback. There a few methods to have servers operate and they've chosen the best method that suits them, it's not their #1 concern to pour money into a server, hire maintenance and add 50 more issues to deal with every update.

I don't know how poor your internet is, but if you are having these issues constantly this sounds more like your end than DE issue.  Again it's been stated everyone would host, you're 1/4 claim is beyond inaccurate, think 4/4.

1.) When forming the random group of players, make sure each of them can connect to all others and not only to the host, if one can't, don't add it to this group, simple enough.

If it bothered you so much, there's an option to set a max host ping that you'd accept so you wont ever connect to anyone with high or unstable connection. But then again, if someone is being selected as host and you're having issues then I'm pretty sure your connection isn't any better.

2.) All players of a group should have a copy of the sessions progress/state, and DEs server should actually get updates of that every once in a while, too, let alone for countering cheats/hacks. This way the host is not "necessary" to continue.

I can think of 6 ways this can be abused to create multiple sessions for a single mission to abuse multiple rewards without popping up as sus and how poorly it will work out for many people should the server come under even the slightly bit of stress the forums would explode.

You waste everyone's time posting a topic about this if you're going to refuse every logical answer people have given you without a reasonable reply or discussion. If it's clear you won't accept anything but "Yes you are right" and just saying what you want, so then this discussion is over.

1.) Your solution here does nothing to fix the problem at hand, but you knew that, right?

Oh wait, you say if I got a problem with the host, then MY INTERNET must be bad, sure thing!

2.) You just proved you have no clue of how this game works, you can NOT join after any objective has completed so this can NOT be abused in any way besides saving someone less than 5 minutes at most.

YOU waste everyones time trolling this thread with bold misinformation, or you just don't know any better, your choice.

  3. Very unlikely, even with the new parent company of DE probably having the resources to do so. Too much money. There are a lot of warframe players online at a time, and its worldwide.

1.) I have not asked for dedicated game servers, but guess what, others can do that, too."Too expensive" is no excuse here, server capacity is actually quite cheap, even for a f2p game.

2.) If they had done a good job at coding for the group finding and (player based) session hosting, we would not have a problem here at all.

  4. I've actually thought about making a thread about this in the past. I too would like a "Host" button. I like to run most missions with random PUGs (set to Public) if my friends are not on, but there are times I wish I was hosting.

The only issue I could see with adding this is too many hosts and not enough clients if everyone chooses to host.

Again, this would at best help 1/4 of the players, it is DEs mistake here, one so big it should not get past any halfway serious QA.

It would be really, really simple if someone would have put a littel thought into it.

1.) When forming the random group of players, make sure each of them can connect to all others and not only to the host, if one can't, don't add it to this group, simple enough.

2.) All players of a group should have a copy of the sessions progress/state, and DEs server should actually get updates of that every once in a while, too, let alone for countering cheats/hacks. This way the host is not "necessary" to continue.

3.) So in case the host is lost, DEs server should determine the new host, chosing the one most suitable, probably by the data the server gathered already by just doing it's job. (session is on hold from now on until end of (4.))

4.) All players should be able to connect to the new host due to (1.), if not, another check of connections is done and a new host is chosen (only oce), in the hopefully rare case one can not connect, that one is placed in a copy of that session to at least have a chance to finish it solo or get something when failing instead of getting nothing at all. (only then the session is resumed / mission continues)

(this only does not work for missions that require a key, but that's a whole different problem)

  5. Because it is peer to peer. Host migration is always a problem if it is unsuccessful, but it is reliant on someone else in the party having a reliable enough ISP to host.

Starting as host would actually solve all of your particular issues in this instance, as then you would never come across a host migration unless your own ISP did not have the throughput to provide for those connected to you. Then, at most, all you would see are people disconnecting from your game.

Sorry I failed to explain properly what I mean.

There actually are game servers that provide updates, and mange to connect players to each other, validate the mission rewards/loot and such...

There sure would be a way to mitigate this problem at least this far as there would be no chance that you are just returned to the menu, losing everything, if your connection and game are stable, it is badly coded at this point, I know I am not allowed to say such a thing on these forums, but that's the truth.

  6. Sounds like starting as 'Host' would solve your issue, and that is a feature I've wanted them to add for a long time.

There is no way they are going to host games on separate servers. Peer to peer means no server costs or infrastructure.

Then why  aren't they even able to do a host migration reliably?

Any serious QA would have marked this as a show stopper.

[edit]: starting as a host would only solve 1/4 of all players problems with this.

  7. I don't know how much DE saves through this "trick", but it can't be much really, effects are, again, like this:

    - Start mission (with the intend to get some reward), no chance to say I want to host, why?

    - Spend 10 minutes in the mission, everything's fine

    - host migration

    - "oh we are soooo sorry, can't connect you anywhere...

    - we will return you now to the menu, no loot, no exp, and especially not that reward you were after, soooo sorry

    - do it solo, again

  8. 1.) When getting downed and revived by another player, the game switches back to the main weapon.

2.) When getting killed and revived by one of the 4 revives, the game keeps the previously selected weapon active.

I hope that (1) is a bug and (2) is not, and I hope this gets fixed soon, as it is quite annoying.

  9. I won't "let it pass" like that, DE made a mistake, I based my decision on it (Whereas I had to take the info from a wiki, as the game provides you NOTHING ingame prior to the choice!).

That is bad game design, even after you choose one, you can't even see anything about the other "paths" ingame, only a valid game design decision if you intentionally want to annoy players.

  10. I, too, find it extremely silly to:

1.) Nerf it this severe, it basically kills half of the usefulness of this whole spec.

2.) Nerfing it this early, where the vast majority of people have not even remotely tried it.

I for myself, am going to issue a support ticket to get me another lense for a different spec, like Vazariin, first because it causes them work, which costs money, which, eventuallly, might convince them that bad decisions of such a scale (read: not that important, but that bad in doing it) are not good for the game, and second because I feel trolled and I want to get this straight.

And mods, if you are going to delete this post, like you did so often with my post for no reason, and ban me for being "negative", you have not understood what feedback actually is, and that many of your (beloved?!) customers think like this, just someone needs to say it.

  11. Funny how some people insist to say they are not bragging, just telling everyone how "good" they are (which they are not, what surprise), and telling me to get geared up like I am missing something, sorry to dissapoint you, but I am no MR4 newbie and I could have built 100 sniper rifles if I'd want to, which I did not, because they were comepletely useless, and (in this, game) not my taste really.

I acknowledge now you have a single reason to build and keep 1 sniper rifle, which is dumb, but I also understand that probably due to the way it was implemented and coded, DE is just not capable at this point to do it any better, that can easily happen if you do not anticipate everything when coding, which is not an easy task.

I still have hope that there will be some really challenging things in WF some day, and that these things will not be catered towards people who spend 200$+ running around with cash/exp boosters all day leveling simply everything to 30 even though there is no reason to touch most of that stuff besides your personal need to bragg with your MR.

  12. What's the point of going useless with no weapons? We all know you need at least one weapon equipped to leave our arsenal, sorties forces us out from our comfort zone by making us equip only certain type of weapon. I'd agree on you if the sortie said "Rubico only" instead of snipers. But thisis not the case, so You're complaining about a personal option.

I use snipers since vectis was just released, I hate skills spamming, and still being deadlier than many boltor prime users. If you don't want to give a try to certain weapons, its your choice, if you don't know how to mod it, or can't realize how to make it into a powerful weapon, yiur problem. But do not blame DE for not being able to fit under certain rules.

And get ready, more "snipers only" or even "daggers only" might come anytime and there will be no reason to cry if you're not geared when it happens.

I see you take this place to try and bragg how good you are, but sorry, that means nothing.

Going "unarmed" is not possible, yea, I said that, and that is the problem.

Also I see you chanting and repeating that "out of the comfort zone" mantra which just shows how you not understand, sorties are super easy, if you dont got with 3 randoms and instead people who are not completely dumb, and in very much most cases, spamming abilities gets the stuff done, which might not be pretty, but highly preferrable to being excluded to run a halfway challenging mission with your friends because you did not build something that is otherwise completely useless.

  13. Sorties were advertised as missions for players with pretty versatile arsenal, and thus we should all expect our most hated weapon only as a rule and get gearedfor it.

Don't have a sniper? Buy/build one and go to the mission. If you don't want to do it, just wait for the next round of sorties assuming asyour fault not being geared for it

I was expecting this kind of post on furst day with the shotgun only sortie (i hate shotguns). Funny nobody complained until snipers were the rule

You, too, dont get it, huh?!

The problem simply is, that you can't go without weapons, and having completely useless "weapons" in your arsenal is not something that makes it "versatile"!

Also, shotguns at least do one thing, that is, damage, so they have a reason to be, unlike snipers.

Yea, simply build one, and spend real cash for it to get it still in time, thanks for that great tip!

Or simply skip one and pass on the loot, another great idea really!

  14. This is not feedback. It's you complaining that you don't like that they're finally rewarding players for having a varied arsenal.

No, it is me complaining that you can't go without weapons instead but need to have built something completely obsolete.

  15. Hey, my friends say, lets do that sortie here!

Nice, I thought, might be interesting for once as the difficulty usually isn't very challenging of "normal" content.

Now, there's 17h left on the clock, and the 2nd mission says "sniper only", which does mean you must have a sniper equipped, as it is impossible to go without weapons, which is ...well, stupid.

Now, as all snipers are ...nothing that one could call useful, I never found it necessary to craft one, and as theres only 17h left on the one hand, and my friends gotta do that now or without me, I only have the option to say screw it, or waste real cash to rush one of the worse of that anyway useless weapon category.

    GG, DE

  16. DE has simply not realized yet, that such "random" loot and extreme grind are outdated 10 years and only make games boring, really boring.

Also crashing every other time I try to take out/start building a disruptor while someone starts the next round already.

Also: Have to start a run 3 times on average as it goes to "finding players" and then fails, getting me back to the starmap.

[edit:] 50 runs, 4 BPs, 3 barrels, 1 receiver at last

Please, somone, tell DE what happened in game design in the last 10 years, they seem to have missed a lot.

  17. 30 runs, 40 counting those from last time, 3 BPs, 2 barrels, an event that requires grind to then grind and more grind because of outright stupid drop rates, also that event only comes once every other blue moon at a time that is not fortunate

also, this event is NOT shown on deathsnacks -.-

  18. Would you like a hand?

I tried quite some time getting even a random group for that one, needless to say I'd appreciate any help I could get.

Everything is pointless to level if you don't enjoy playing it.  Like pistols. I don't really ever use them, ever.  *shrug*

They have their tactical uses, and some are no different to some main weapons.

    Archwing though, is just... unfinished.

  19. So far of all the runs I've done, these are the drop percentages I'm seeing.  50 runs to get all three parts would be... Highly unlikely.  Usually 10 runs is the max I've ever had to take a group to get everything.

    Helmet 35%

    Systems 29%

    Chassis 36%

Then how did i get no part at all? that is 100% you noticed?
