Well you could see it as a two-teir society, but a new player doesn't have the problem of his aura-less-formad loki becoming obsolete....and nothing is stopping *him* getting a loki prime....or even buying ARCANE for plat.

The underlying problem should be solved is my argument. You make a solid points.
I think all players who were playing pre-patch should have the unique blueprint that upgrades their loki/rhino/bo/etc into an 'arcane' loki/rhino/etc.
This arcane equipment-upgrade-blueprint would be tradeable.
To apply the upgrade would cost the same as building the prime.The devs would perhaps decide to give interesting but not overpowered stat boosts/the same stat boosts as the prime.
The Arcane helmets DO help the game. It's fair on the beta players AND helps drive the platinum economy.
My solution is a logical extension of that.
It's not a ''risk i knowingly took''. I'm not a victim, i'm being professional. My solution is Win-win-win for everyone.
and also...'knowingly?'. Lol srsly? i'm supposed to psychicly figure out the future a year ago cause i had an Auraless-Excalibur prime? cmon that's nonsense. -

Vargras my argument is not weak because all of those things would be arcane trade-able items. At first they would be everywhere, but as time goes on, they would become more and more rare.
My argument is not laughable, because making money isn't funny. Its business.
The players are not 'happy' that their stuff has become obsolete, they are *putting up with it*. My solution makes everyone happy, and helps the game.
Naftal, well good for you, but that doesn't mean the problem of priming stuff has gone away.Primeing weapons and equipment should be only a positive thing for the game. It should not punish beta-players for playing.

Finally some a good responce!Firstly this only effects directly people who already own the pre-prime-things, just like arcane helmets only people directly effected are those bought them before the patch.
If they want to hold onto both frames that's their choice. giving the abilty to upgrade a loki/bo/whatever to 'arcane' could result in a different stat boost.
An ARCANE loki for example, would be rare. The beta players are happy and proud, but if they want to trade this item they can too.
to actually build the upgrade would cost the same blueprint parts and resources as building a prime. Thus not giving pre-patch players an unfair advantage.
It's fair on the new player because they can still buy them for platinum on the market, and *they* didn't lvl their loki 4 times .....because they just entered a game where the prime already exists. same goes for rhino/boltar/etc. if they want the ARCANE bo/rhino/loki etc, they pay plat for it.
The solution is better for me, its better for the devs. and i'm not a 'spoiled' vet. I'm someone who invested my time and effort from the earliest beta in something that became obsolete.....semi-randomly.

Good news: You don't need to polarize Loki Prime. Got him to 29 and everything fits just nice. So if you get him, you don't need to invest the same amount of work.
(Doens't fix the problem of pre-patch people investing so much time, also assumes that everyone mods the same way.)
I don't really care about +25 energy when his abilities barely cost more than 15 if modded that way.

Make people who are loyal players from pre-prime-patch have the special option to make 'arcane' stuff out of what they already owned. Make it tradeable, boom now its collector's edition and limited, so people will sell them for plat.

I win cause i don't feel DEPRESSED every time i take my loki out, instead i feel PROUD of my beta-heritage.
the DEVS win cause its a healthier economy and more platinum.
All the people who already had a rhino and made a rhino prime and lvled it win, cause now their 'arcane' rhino can be sold for plat. so they win too.
Why not make the 'arcane' loki upgrade (Available to only people who owned something before its patched) different? Speed boost?
see now'd have a reason to farm the loki prime and have two loki's, my arcane and my prime.
EVERYONE wins.
Currently everyone either verbally being absuve, saying ''its not SOOO bad'' or just grinding away and not even being on the forums.....except of course, the ones agreeing with me. Perhaps they will come out if it wasn't for the trolls.

I think DE did say, Warframes after Vauban won't get primes. But him and every Warframe before him will get a primed version.

DE had also said in the past that prime frames would not obsolete vanilla frames, the only differences would be cosmetic and void buffs i.e. our current 250 energy from void balls. Turns out things changed and we have now 2 direct upgrade prime frames.
(I don't mind this, high end content for high end players. All i'm frustrated about is cause i'm earliest beta and invested my time in something now obsolete)

I crunched the numbers and ultimately with maxed flow mods the energy difference between the two is only 53 energy,

This game is still in beta, yes i said beta so expect new things, changes and lots of things to happen but for this idea of yours is not something that should be handed out

NOi didn't *know* prime version will be comming out. Prime for the frames from the tenno lab? don't know Which weapons will and will not be primed? dont know what order they will be primed, don't know if they will have stat bonus's or not, don't know If they will be primed WHEN they will be primed.

What do you ask for in this thread? To make primes useless again with no pluses? To have NO prime warframes? To get a free loki prime with 5 forma just because?

I specifically asked to be able to upgrade my loki to a loki prime *at the same cost* as building a loki prime.
ALSO for this option . Lets call it ARCANE LOKI to only be available to people who had loki's pre-patch. I'm also asking for this ability to be done across the board.
Ember's rhino's bo's boltars etc are covered to.
It's fair and just on players who didn't know that the frame/weapon they are investing their TIME (and that matters more than the resources) would become obsolete.
It should also be a tradeable item, just like the helmets.
This is fair, just, and results in more platinum buying.

I've spent who-knows-how-many-hours lvling up my loki from the earliest beta. It feels wasted. It's not about the forma as much as it is about the TIME spent playing and lvling, only for the thing to become obsolete.
If you *know* there is a boltor and a boltor prime fair enough, its your forma etc you've wasted.
but when its semi-random what is and is not primed each week......how do you know?
It's like being randomly punished for playing the game.Same thing with my volt. When the volt prime comes out great, id have to build and forma that too? sure fine i've got the resources and id buy the blueprint with platinum...

I'm genuinely curious how you managed to spend 5 forma on standard loki, op. My max duration / range, invis / radial disarm build only took 3 forma, and with the added polarities on the prime, I only need 2 forma. That being said, I can understand your rage, but unless DE hands out 'resets' whenever they release an upgraded version of something, I don't think one specific to loki will happen.

I think primes are a good idea. high end content for dedicated players. Something to AIM FOR farming.......as i said before, my solution only applies to people who have already invested stuff pre-patch. Weapons/frames etc.

Make it useless? IT'S ONLY TO PLAYERS WHO ALREADY PLAYED BEFORE THE PRIME WAS RELEASED. That's all this would effect, not a large % of the player base, but still.

And yes, Rhino players who had a rhino before the rhino prime came out should get a stat item that requires the rhino prime blueprint parts/and cost -

I'm Bloody &!$$ed off! I just forma'd my loki 5 damn times. and NOW there is a loki PRIME with 25+ energy.
This is INFURIATING for obvious reasons. I would not of catalysed or formar'd my loki if i knew a Prime was comming i would not of done this.
I'm not asking for a refund, i just want a unique shoulder pad or chest piece that upgrades my energy 25+, but is only available to people who had a loki BEFORE the patch.
Make this unique item cost the same as building a loki prime.

Long reload. Epic damage. unwieldy and slow. that's how it should FEEL.
The fact you slapped some mods on it like any other rifle in the game and made it into a pseudo bolter that costs a forma is irrelevant. -
The crossbow in my video had 3 times the draw strength of the english longbow. It fires half as slow.
Fine, its the future, it should have a clip size of 3-4, but the reload should be SLOOOOW, and the damage should be higher. WAY higher.
The reload should be the slowest in the game, with the bolt damage to increased to compensate.
Hey, lets make it Fun, Lets give it super-high CRIT chance. So that with corrupted max mods, the cit chance is 200% , guaranteed double critical.
Balance it so it isn't better than a paris prime, but still unique and fun.
it's a dojo weapon that costs a forma and its worse than the boltor. Not the boltor prime, the @(*()$ bolter.
AND its got ZERO Character. its just a bad boltor with a cool skin. it doesn't FEEL like a crossbow.

I would love for the option to replay mastery ranks and see if i can get a better score. If the abilty to farm was removed from them, could the devs one day sort that out?
