"Wait. Before we start playing tag with the local abominations, who aside from me is manning the frontlines? I have...Something new. I believe it might help quite a bit here."

"Hey now, take a breather. Nobody's getting hurt on my watch." Dino said to the shaken up Agnes. Even she wasn't running that hard. Maybe she's not the only one who feels sluggish with this sickness in her veins... well, everyone's fine at least.

"Frontlines sound like the ideal place for me, not much I can do in the back the way I am now."

"And I'm eleven. I'm not a baby who needs their hand held."

She stomped off, grumbling under her breath.

Well, look at the attitude of that one. A child through and through, she thought. Instead of scolding her further, Dino simply laughed and let her be. Children as so relatable sometimes... and adorable... way, way too adorable...

"Hey." she said, looking at the other woman "You seem to know what you're doing. Maybe you should do the scouting? Or maybe that Cyriann kid might be up for it."

"So.... what are we gonna do now?" She asked, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet. Then she got an idea. "Ooh, I know, I'll go scout ahead!"

Quick as a flash, she darted forward up one of the streets, eyes and ears peeled for trouble.

    "Oh no you don't-!"

Dino thought she was keeping a good eye on the little kid until now, staying aware of anything that may be a threat, generally sticking by the responsibility they all chose to uphold. But when she darted off, she barely had a moment to react. She tried to catch her by the shoulder, extending her arm to reach for her. And it extended and extended... it was almost on instinct that the metal arm disconnected from her shoulder a kept going a good distance. It was then that she did something she didn't even know to do, her disconnected hand moving it's palm and fingers as if to snatch the running kid by the shoulder. Alas, the kid was just a bit too quick, and all she ended up snatching was empty air. The arm returned, but Dino didn't have time to ponder this new ability before seeing the other woman run off after the kid, tagging along as well.

    "Oh you little...!"

Running after the kid, she found herself to be lagging behind quite a bit. Her feet felt heavy, not exactly exhausted, just sluggish.

"Please don't run off on your own. It's how they get you and eat you." said Tara, looking down at Gabby while holding her hand as she walked them back to the main group. "Or eat the rest of us really. Let's try not to go off on our own without a real plan again, alright? I have some ground rules that I will need to share with you but the others will need to hear it too since they need to know the rules as well."

When she finally caught up, the other woman had already caught the kid, now on her way back to the group. Dino took a moment to catch her breath, in disbelief at how slow she has become. This sickness just keep taking and taking...

"Fu-... Heck girl, what was our one condition? Not one step without us." Dino spoke, giving her a stern look. Though, then she laughed lightly and pat her on the back "It ain't worth being awesome by yourself if nobody's there to see it, y'know?"

Gabby bounced slightly in place when Dino said she could help, ears perking up once more. "Thank you!" she said with a wide smile, "thank you thank you thank you thank you." She wrapped her arms around Dino's waist and gave her a tight hug, before releasing and looking in at the map.

Part of her mind was dealing with the seriousness of the situation, giving it the proper respect that it was worth. A small section, however, was busy giving the 'superhero' version, flashy and colourful, with faintly ridiculous things occurring.

Give a kid a break, alright?

Suddenly, even if for a moment, Dino's legs felt like they were holding up a much heavier weight, overtaken by a slight weakness. That weakness being the cat-like girl currently hugging her waist. The others could probably noticed the wide eyed look breaking through her mask. Well, who wouldn't be surprised in her place? Someone else might be struck with the guilt of allowing such a bundle of joy and innocence tag along for such a dangerous task, but her mind's a bit of a mush right now.

She was about the pat Gabby's head when she broke off from the hug, turning her attention to the map. Dino stayed her hand, still unsure if she's capable of holding back the necessary force. Her expression turned back to normal, though she was smiling idly with a fading blush, looking over the kid at the map. It's probably good to clear her head with some practical thinking.

"So, we going with the radio strategy?"

  5. 7 minutes ago, Cyriann said:

"As for the rest..." I get back up looking to the others. "If I may?" I try and get everyone's attention. "Maybe we should discuss of what we can do before deciding what to do? I mean I proposed myself for a reason that I now realize I didn't showed you guys."

"Your logic is sound, kid." replied Dino with a smirk "Though maybe you'd work better as the guy who places the bait. If it fails, you'll just take its place. I can tell you're not dumb enough to bite off more than you can chew. And if you do, I'm gonna kick your ass, got it?" her smirk turned somewhat wicked, almost menacing. But surely she just meant it in a friendly way... right?

    5 minutes ago, Spikey844 said:

"I dunno why I got these, but if I can help, I'm gonna help, and you can't stop me."

Gabby's ears had pressed flat to her head in her defiance, and they remained low even as she looked back up at the group. "Maybe I'm just a child, but I'm also able to help. So I will."

Dino looked down at the child. Stubborn, of course, all kids went through such a phase. She did too... all the fights she got into, for herself and the sake of others... how often the intervention of adults and third parties only made the anger worse... Dino smirked. This kid's more than just cute.

"... alright. But you're not taking a step without us, got it? You'll need someone to show you the ropes." she declared, lightly patting the child on the back. Though, lightly might not be the best way to describe a pat with her arms "Buckled up, we'll turn you into a tiger yet."

Dino found it difficult lately not to glare at every little thing the formerly rich man said. He didn't particularly always say something bad, but her personal disposition has only been going downhill since the day they met. This time she found the glare justified. Although she didn't say anything, she severely hoped he was volunteering, else he of all people had no business suggesting something like that. Though, she guessed it only made sense that the man who has been exploiting the masses his whole life would suggest someone to risk their life for his sake. She scoffed at his followup supporting the doctor's idea, only seeing someone trying to keep his public image intact like he practiced on TV.  Why the hell is he even here...

Funnily enough, he's exactly the reason why she joined the operators. It was also the sight of all the others wanting to join, but seeing this good-for-nothing trying to be a goody-two-shoes and heading for the front lines? She wouldn't have it. So she'll be there, to keep a good eye on the coot and keep the others safe. If this guy really seeks redemption, she'll sure as hell not make it easy.

    Concerning the plan though...

"Bait or not, I don't think we can avoid fighting our way through some of them. I can take care of any stragglers. Not like they can bite these arms."

"I probably should try and get you not to come, but I sort of gave up on that 'cause you're clearly not going to budge on that. It already makes me feel terrible, but I'll do everything I can so you won't get hurt. Please don't make it harder than it already is, alright?"

So that is why Gabby was there. Dino thought she was just following the adults, not actually planning to join them on the field. She was hoping the traumatic experience of yesterday would dissuade her of facing it again. The child is either brave or blind, common things to see on a kid...

"This isn't really the same as beating up your bully, you know? These things... they're tough." spoke Dino "If you really wanna face them, you need to be tough too. I can tell you're smart, but you need to be strong, too." she gestured with her metal arms, which could easily crush a rock without sustaining any damage "I can help you get stronger, but until then, why don't you just sit back and watch for now?"

There she was again, that woman Gabby approached in the morning. Dino was surprised and glad to see her too joining the operators, the more the merrier... usually. However, even after breakfast, the briefing and now planning, she spoke not a word. Is she like that woman they met in the sewers? What'd Gabby call her, Batwoman? The mutation doesn't seem to suggest that...

"Hey, I saw you this morning, didn't I?" she said, trying to spark a conversation "You can call me Dino. Mind telling me what you can... y'know, do? Anything that could contribute to the plan?"

"She's like us," she whispered to herself, then louder, "she's like us!" She darted across to the strange woman, before almost skidding to stop before the brunette, staring up at her, ears perked upright.

"Hiya! I'm Gabby! I'm like you!" She added to her introduction by waving her paw like hands around.

    "Gabby wait!"

Oh dear, there she goes. Dino was swiftly reminded why some people don't like kids. So energetic and lively are those little things, it's difficult keeping them in check. And unlike adults, you can't use brute force or you'll have a crying kitty.

Just another thing those hands aren't good for...

The Greek woman ran after her, stopping before the stranger "Sorry, she gets a little excited at times." adorably so, she added in her head. Apologizing the the woman, Dino then noticed the distinctive marks on her hands, the undeniable signs of infection "... you are like us, huh..." she spoke, likely not having to make her own infected limbs any more obvious for her to notice. But that would have to suffice, as this is no time of introductions. Dino put her hands on Gabby's back and gently pushed her into the direction of the cafeteria.

"Sorry again for the bother. See ya."

Once out of view, Dino wouldn't scold Gabby unless dhe acted out. Most kids realize they did something bad without requiring an adult to yell at them. Let's hope this is one of those sharp kids.

“I dunno, I just woke up with them,” Gabby said with a shrug. They twitched on her head, perking forward slightly. “Anyway, its breakfast time... I think. It feels like breakfast time.”

Dino, now all dressed and ready, waited for Gabby to be done putting on her footwear and also for Agnes to get her stuff together. Visibly, she too has been s h o o k by the new fluffy visual. Time to look like the more responsible adult again.

"Alright you two, I've got a belly that needs filling and I bet you girls have too. Food sounds good, yeah?"

She ushered them out, her hunger prompting her to hurry it up. She could just go to the cafeteria by herself, but no way she's letting the little one alone now. Those cat ears need to be protected with an iron fist... though, it could probably do with someone less prone to gushing over their slight life-like movements. With her mind on that and food, it is no surprise she did not notice anyone who could've been new to her on their way to the cafeteria.

"...You have cat ears. Why do you have cat ears. I mean, they're very much adorable, and if anyone tells you otherwise I will do unpleasant things to them, but why do you have cat ears."

"My thoughts exactly, shield girl." commented Dino, putting her boots on. Clearly there's no shame in these feelings if the other clearly grown woman is also as easily taken aback by this peculiar development. But the swift departure of the other woman did surprise her. Not even a good morning, just off she went. What was her name again? Gosh Dino, why are you so bad with names...

  10. 2 minutes ago, Spikey844 said:

"Um... yeah. I am." She looked back up. "You know how to get back to the dining room? I don't remember getting into bed last night." She shifted from bare foot to bare foot, patting down her skirt and trying to smooth it out a bit.

Dino looked back just in time to see the ears perk up and flatten again. They're so much like a real cat's! She had to fake cough to hide her face again, because the adorableness made her blush.

"Y-yeah, poor thing... let's get you something to eat." she pushed her blanket off and stood up, already dressed as she slept with her clothes on due to the cold. It's an... interesting morning to say the least. But the other girls in the room still aren't awake yet. Maybe they should wait for them...

  11. 12 minutes ago, Spikey844 said:

Then her nose (still very much human) twitched, and she glanced towards the entrance of their dorm. "Is that food?" She asked, before looking back at Dino.

The eyes. The eyes! Dino could not handle it anymore, breaking her gaze before she'd get a nosebleed. She was always a cat person, and she liked children. Now Gabby is both, and although it's melting the grown woman's heart, the little girl is rather distressed about the whole thing. Dino has to get a grip and help the little one get accustomed to her new self. And that means telling her about the eyes after she's made peace with the ears... those furry, fluffy ears...

Resist the fluff, resist the fluff!

    "U-um, probably. You hungry?"

Sudden awakening. Very, very sudden. She had bolted upwards like a rocket. What was it that woke her up? It wasn't a noise, it wasn't a touch, no dream either... her hands feel so numb though, maybe she slept on them all night and...

    "Oh... right..."

There was no blood to stop from flowing into her arms, they were as cold and crude as metal, the only thing having warmed them being her cheek as she slept. Barely any sort of sense of touch, even worse than before. At this rate, the only thing she'll feel will be the vibrations as she bumps into things. She keeps observing her arm, a stare almost as lifeless as the limb itself. Perhaps a little sad. Her gaze keeps trailing along the lines in its surface, like twisted metal, until she reached her shoulder. It was then that she noticed that the affliction has spread. Before it was just a where the arm reconnected that the corruption was present. Now it has spread around her shoulder more. Not only that, but at the edges she could see cracks forming in her skin. It wasn't only present there, but without any touch in her fingertips she can't tell how badly affected her back is.

She sighed. A long, deep sigh. The bell was just background noise at this moment. She'll just have to push through this...

    "I have cat ears?!"

If Dino's head turned any faster, she'd risk snapping her neck. Her eyes wide as marbles, mouth agape, she paid witness to the child and her new development. Something every bioengineer across the globe would pay a fortune to be able to replicate. A sight that would soften the hardest of stone walls.

That is, the sight of a cat eared girl.

    "Y... you've got cat ears..."

    She mutters.

"Cat ears... she's got cat ears... you've got cat ears."

For a moment, Dino's gaze looks almost scary, though it's hard to tell with all the disbelief in her eyes. A metallic hand covers her mouth and nose. This is a test of willpower...

As we arrive to the floor where all the rooms are I peak in the different rooms, seeing no one is there.

"Good, we can settle her in without an issue." I say leaving Dino to guide me to where Gabby would sleep so we could tuck her in. "Thanks for the help Dino, I don't know how I would had handled it all on my own." I thank her as I'm waiting for her to show me where to drop the girl.

"You're welcome kid." Dino replied naturally "Stuff gets done faster and better if people work together. Doubt we would've gotten away from those dog things otherwise."

She was not impressed with the room, makeshift beds and sheets, but there's only so much you can do with establishments never meant for this kinda stuff. Before Cyriann would get to lay her down, she picked a bed and took some more blankets from other beds, giving her an extra layer of warmth, fluff and softness. Now she nodded to him, giving him to greenlight to place her down and tuck her in.

"Don't worry. I'll pummel anyone who gets close to her. If you find the others, let em know this room's free for a few more people. Except the rich guy, screw him."

  14. 1 minute ago, Cyriann said:

I catch her as she falls. "And done, she is off." I then scoop her up and carry her as I sigh.
"You won't mind taking care of her if the rooms are separated ? She's clinging on me right now." I look at the slumbering girl with a smile. "I hope we'll be able to preserve her a bit." I speak lowly to not wake her up, despite Gabby probably being so tired that even if we spoke normally she wouldn't wake up.

Once again, there it was. That feeling of imminent dread as Cyriann picked the sleeping kid up in his arms. Where's that coming from? But looking around he'd only find Dino following closely behind, not particularly vengeful looking. Actually, she smiled at his suggestion.

"She would definitely be best off with the rest of us girls. Y'know, familiar environment and all. I'll keep an eye on her, don't you worry."

Those are the words that left her mouth. But inside, her brain was going YES YES YES. She's not usually this two-faced, part of her is telling her to drop the mask, but a freak out now would not help Gabby catch her Zs.

  15. 1 hour ago, Cyriann said:

I can't resist and give her a rapid headpat.

    21 minutes ago, Spikey844 said:

Gabby flailed her arms at Cyriann's headpat, an ineffectual attempt to stop him from doing so.

For one moment, a moment where none had their vision turned to the metal armed architect, her expression was a glare of such magnitude, such envy, it might as well attract a moon to orbit around it. Cyriann might even feel this odd sense of dread, but were her to look around it would have already passed, no danger nor any trace of it, just a tired looking woman fiddling with her cutlery.

    "So unfair..." she muttered.

Without realizing it, her eyes are fluttering shut and her head is bobbing up and down as microsleep attempts to take her. Perhaps the kid isn't the only sleepy one, it's been a long day after all and she's all tuckered out after the running and yelling and mental debating.

"She could use adult supervision. Where are the rooms again?" she picks herself off the table, ready to follow them.

  16. Well that was... something. It's easy to forget you're not the only one with problems, serious problems. Complains about the world, about how things are going down the cr@pper. Everything gets bigger, yet smaller at the same time.

Then Agnes gets hugged. It's not fair, Dino wants a hug too. Maybe she'll get one if she pouts hard enough? Nah, that's childish... huh, she's not the one getting hugged and yet it had the same subject changing effect on her. However, she scoffed at the French guy's interjection, having somewhat forgotten about him until he chimed in.

"Psh, sure, whatever kid." She said halfheartedly, despite Cyriann not being the youngest at the table, nor even the second youngest.

Dino listened closely to the child, interested and bewildered at the young one's wisdom. She expected some simple things like "people shouldn't fight" or "anyone can change". She already brushed those off, knowing full well the world isn't that simple. And listening to the new points... she brushed them off as well, none of them thoughts she didn't have herself already.

Punishment? How is getting to live longer than most others a punishment? She knew good, honest people who were mauled to death on day one. Death as mercy is no reward, and survival is no punishment. If she could make them switch places...

And a second chance? What about everyone else? People who deserved it much more than he ever did? How is he above them?! Redemption is to be earned, not given! The world has stopped making sense.

The child was right about one thing though. His wrongs will never go away. And if he will be so lucky to come out of this apocalypse alive, she'll make sure the world won't ever forget. The demon's wings will be torn off, to live among the poisoned will he, subject to the devils above he was once part of.

Her brows were furrowing all the while these negative thoughts stormed inside her head. Were it not internal monologue she might as well be yelling... or perhaps it wasn't just talking to herself? Either way, the storm passed quickly. The little girl had started to act her age again, pulling Dino out of this mental debate, rather efficiently too. There's nothing better to snap a grown woman out of an internal conflict than a hungry child. Go innocence!

"U-um, yeah! I bet we can get you a second round, it's been a long day after all. Might have to work harder for it later though... but we'll help you out." the woman smiled down at Gabby, the fires completely out now.

"Fine. Whilst the Architect works to make this place function better, I'll be out there. Putting my neck out there instead of being cooped up like a hermit." he stated though gritted teeth as he slowly started to stand up and prepare to make his way to find the woman who could make him an Operator but he stopped, turned around and stared at Dino, gripping the table across from her, locking eyes with her. "You may hate me for all I've done and I can't apologize enough for my actions but I will not stay here like an abused animal and keep looking back." he hissed at the Architect before he started to make his way to the boss of this Homefront, to see about doing some work that would make him useful to this outpost.

"Whatever, rich boy." Dino muttered in response, he probably didn't hear. None of his words really sounded like anything but bullS#&$. Those guys are full of empty words, fat with them in fact. He's playing innocent now that he's brought down to everyone's level. It's a miracle that he got this far...

    5 hours ago, Spikey844 said:

"Why don't you like him?" She asked Dino after a moment, head tilted to one side.

Dino was pulled out of her hateful gaze into nothingness by the little girl's question. It didn't need to take a perceptive person to notice he doesn't have that man in best regards. And since she's a child, she clearly has no idea who he is, or how the big guys up top in their shiny suits rob people of more than any lowlife punk with a gun ever could. Still, she knows kids have that childish optimism, thinking that you can get along with everyone if you try... well, the good kids at least. There's bad kids too... but this Gabby is a good kid, she can tell. She'll have to take care explaining this...

"... Karl Zakharov. He's the big boss of a company called Juno. He's... peh, I'm not gonna sugarcoat this. He's a bad guy, corrupt to the core. He plays nice with sweet speeches on camera, but he's a lying backstabber. Underpaying his workers, overpricing his products, pulling dirty tricks to tear down historical buildings and build hospitals - which are practically paper houses on sand with a pretty coat of paint - and he's also a jerk. How do I know? Ask his ex wives and bastard children, he's probably forgotten about them anyway."

The more Dino spoke, the more her grip on the table tightened. It wasn't until she was done that she noticed the indentations her fingers left. She felt rightly awkward, not only for damaging other's property but loosing her cool talking about that guy to a kid. She sighed, calming down somewhat. Her gaze shifted into the distance again.

"How can people like him make this far, but other people, honest, better people..." she clenched her teeth, then relaxed them again "Like hell I'm gonna accept that."

"Gab it is then." Dino smiled after swallowing her last bite. The food was delicious, and she dug in like a starved dog at a fast food restaurant. It's not that she didn't have table manners, but these arms were difficult to work precisely with, resulting in some shaky movements and dented silverware. Still, she listened to the people around her, especially to the (beyond adorable) one with similarly disfigured limbs.

"You can definitely call me a friend. I look out for my own, y'know?"

On 2019-12-15 at 8:47 PM, Drakeardian said:

"So...what do we do now?" he asked, not looking to Dino at the moment, he knew that conversation would come up later.

"We? You can go look for coins under other people's tables for all I care." Dino voiced. Maybe he was trying to avoid her, but he still was in her presence, and she'll make sure he's aware of his position at all times. She will not associate herself with this corporate degenerate. That's enough about him though, the subject at hand does seem important, and that other guy - Martjin was his name? - already expressed himself on it. Might as well join.

"I'm a fully qualified architect, and this place is in bad shape. I'm gonna see if they have any need for reconstruction experts."

  20. Well, that didn't work out. It's unfortunate, she had hoped she could get more funny reactions with this hand trick. It's not every day you get to disconnect your arm at will like a drill head. And both victims of this trick took it unsatisfyingly lightly. How dull... still, at least the woman had spirit, and passions. Admirable traits in Dino's eyes. And she offered them clothes. There was a lot to choose from, but she specified she can't really wear anything with sleeves, as it'd get in the way of her abilities. They ended up with a black tank top, torn jeans, a sleeveless denim jacket and high boots. They looked for a while to find a jacket with a hood, and made sure it had those strings to tie it under your neck too, that's important. She kept her choker though, at least something to keep from her personal wardrobe. As for underwear... keep dreaming, pervs. It was off to the showers afterwards.

Now, with clean clothes, clean body, and incoming meal, last thing needed would be a clean mind... sadly, that might take longer. She can start by filling the hole in her stomach though, the packet of gum in her pocket wouldn't help with that after all. She watched the adorable kid bounce over to the table, all chipper in clean, cute clothes, she almost felt jealous of Agnes being dragged around by her. She sits down at the table next to the two.

    "Man, I'm starved..."

"EY! You the ones tracking... whatever the hell that is in here? It smells like a sewage tank emptied into the lobby."

As the others looked over, they would see a woman in her early thirties, with a thick ponytail and a pair of sunglasses that complemented a rather drab outfit, lifting it and giving it some taste and style. As she, for lack of a better word, strutted over, her expression seemed to be one of exaggerated distaste. She gave them a once over, before taking Dino's wrist between two fingers, dragging her along with zero regard for the fact that they may be unwilling, or dangerous.

"You look like fashion disasters... Forcing a lovely young girl to dress like that?"

"Hey! I may smell, but this hoodie was killer when I found it!"

That is how the Greek woman responded to the accusations. Smell? Yes, they did smell, nice of someone to notice. Yes, it is spreading, it's one of the reasons they're even looking clothes. But this red hoodie was hand picked from a high end clothes shop! You could still see the designer mark... behind all the smudge, maybe... or did she tear it away along with the sleeves? Either way, the only flaw here is the unsanitary state it's in.

Still... new clothes would be appreciated. But that doesn't mean she'll let herself get dragged away. So, instead of shaking herself free of the woman's grip, she merely disconnected the arm she was holding. That ought to give her a scare once she turns around. She also moved to walk behind her other side to add to the upcoming shock. With her other hand, she put her index finger before her mouth in a "shhh" gesture to Gabby.

    Man, this power is fun...

Then, as she looked back at Dino, a thought came to her. It was so out of the blue that she could not stop herself before asking, "Are your arms going to rust if you get them wet?"

"Geez, I sure hope not." Dino answered, chuckling at the thought. Silly question as it may be, the times are weird enough as is and she wouldn't be surprised were it to actually happen. But for now, she'd rather just wash off the dirt so the metallic-like surface can shine again.

Of course, she caught a glance at the little one's blushing face and embarrassment antics. It took a lot of willpower not to ruffle her messy hair like she's the cutest little bugger in the world.

"What the..?" She muttered, before moving forward to investigate the pipes, poking and prodding them carefully.

"Alright, I know enough about water installation to tell that's not how you earn your paycheck..."

Dino studied the makeshift piping, checking if it really did work and hold. Surprisingly, it seems it does. Little droplets are dripping from what she could only assume was a showerhead, and there's no signs saying it's out of order, which a mall should obviously have plenty to spare. Clearly she wasn't expecting this. A shower seems very possible and welcome right now, though that would require new clothes as well. If it's not covered in sewage sludge, it's it's sweaty and old from weeks of survival. She'll need a change, and so will the kid if she wants to shower too. It'd be a good idea to get her away from those pipes too, she seems a little too entranced with them. Maybe a smile of her own will snap her out of it.

"C'mon girl, let's find some new clothes first, then we can test these showers."

Should the little girl comply, they'll both go back into the big area of the mall and look for something or someone who looks like they could provide clothing. If there's nothing in sight, she'll ask the first person she sees or passes by.

  24. "Alright, civilization. How good to see it hasn't fallen apart." Dino commented. She was looking all around the mall the moment they entered. Nice foundations, strong pillars, a decent construction. There's a reason people often hold out in shopping malls during a zombie apocalypse, in movies at least. It still looked damaged however, and considering it's use is no longer tue mass marketing and selling of products, some "renovation" could be of use. And she'd be more than happy to lend her hand with some reconstruction projects. Speaking of hands though...

"This is a mall, I don't think anyone would build one with showers. Our best bet are the sinks in the restrooms."

With that, she headed towards the women's restrooms, planning to wash her metallic hands if there even is any flowing water still. Rest and food came come after the smell won't get in the way of either anymore. She pulled her hood down, letting her short brown hair hang free.

  25. Fresh air. Oh sweet, clean, refreshing fresh air.

One would think the more time you spend in that stench the more you get used to it. But not that literal sh¡tshow, that smelled up to the heavens and all the way back to hell. Suffocating on construction dust isn't as bad as this. Dino has never been this grateful for air, she could get high on it.

In a way it was a good thing, kept away the thoughts of that rich scumbag surviving this epidemic. Where's the justice? Does god not care? It's ridiculous...

Those thoughts dissipated yet again when they encountered more people, friendly people. Very tough looking guys, she could tell. It was after the introduction of their guide that she realized something.

"Ah, that's right... I didn't introduce myself to any of you, have I?" she gestured to her companions "Dino Christo."

When she heard Karl introduce himself, she internally cringed. In front of these guys... is he really that boastful, or does he have a deathwish?
