  1. Because people with your oppinion whined away broken lights, because they also added "no difficulty".

Seriously, has difficulty got a new definition?

It's...because they didn't add any difficulty? A minor sap to my shields doesn't challenge me in any way. I want enemies to move away from being giant bullet sponges and I want them to force the player on the back foot. Knockdowns are great, special eximus leaders are a nice addition, I like the G3 and Zanuka hunting down the player, they're all great examples of how this has worked so far. I'm sorry but I just don't find any challenge in having to stop fighting and then walking a couple meters to press x.

  2. Friends Boltor was dropped, he managed to pick it up; it was suddenly unranked and unmodded instead of 30 and fully modded

I've also heard of people grabbing other peoples' unranked weapons and gaining mastery for a gun they've never used. Maybe it could be used as an incredibly roundabout way to gain affinity for event/founder weapons before it gets patched? :P

  3. Problem with that Skyrim hypothesis is Warframe usually doesn't give you the option of avoiding a fight. Exterminate: Kill all enemies, Defense: kill all enemies in the wave, Mobile Defense: Kill enemies attempting to destroy the defense point, Excavation: kill enemies attempting to destroy the extractor. Even when the objective does not revolve around killing, the tight corridors and constricting, one path direction forces you to fight anything you can't outrun, or risk dying. Literally, if the argument is "Use Evasion," it doesn't apply to most of Warframe. Heck, even the Stormtrooper-esque aim most enemies used to have just got improved significantly, making dodging somewhat trickier.

Therefore, even if the idea is to avoid the fight, it is a mechanic misplaced in Warframe.

I think I didn't use the right words to express what I meant, I guess I should have said it was more like delaying the fight. It doesn't really add an extra challenge (since I assume most people would have an equally capable secondary and melee), and even if they become completely disarmed, they still have their abilities. It just adds more time and annoyance to the fight where you have to pause what you're doing for a second and hunt down your gun.

Overall, I don't think it's something most players are going to react to by going "Oh, my gun is missing, I better retreat and think up a new tactic with my squad to take down that unit and get my gun back when it's over", it's more "Oh dammit, got disarmed *rolls eyes as they run over to it and pick it up* "

I'm also still willing to bet that a large number of times this happens, the gun will glitch through the ground or be thrown to an unreachable place.

  4. Question: Is there anything to avoid this when you know it's going to happen? I'm fine with knockdowns, since shockwave moas have an expanding orange circle, and heavy gunners have to play through an animation, so if you're quick enough you can avoid these. Is it possible to dodge the flying mace or shoot it out of the air? Also, what happens if you're only equipped with one weapon?

Imo this isn't even about adding challenge to a fight, it's about avoiding the fight entirely. It reminds me of Skyrim, when you're about to fight one of those ancient bosses and they disarm you with a shout, sending your sword flying around the room. It doesn't add anything to the fight other than two or three minutes for you to jump around and pick up your sword again so you can actually begin the fight.

On top of this, you have the fact that other people can steal your weapon, and the very high chance of your weapon sinking through the ground/being thrown to an unreachable place.

  5. I was, but I've recently come back again. The fundamental problem is that, even way before the high mastery ranks, everything starts to become optional. Endgame atm is using your warframes and weapons to get...other warframes and weapons. Most of which are wrung like a wet towel to get every last drop of mastery before they're tossed in the trash and the cycle begins again. In my opinion, there just isn't a satisfying reward right now other than a number next to your username.

  6. In terms of the community:

People who only use top DPS weapons and claim status builds/snipers/bows are useless.

New players that immediately try to buy Prime weapons and ignore 99% of the other decent weapons out there.

People using Vauban vortex spam in defence, then complain the game is too easy.

People who don't like change, given that Warframe has changed in so many ways since when it was first launched.

    In terms of the game:

    Getting riplined through solid objects.

    Bleed/Poison status.

Getting a void key from a void.

    Bosses with invincibility stages.

    And above all:

    "Failed to join session"

  7. apparently all my good stuff (I run mostly clan tech) have very high conclave levels. I even had to strip my Frost down to just snowglobe since apparently avalanche was 120 conclave and Ice Wave 60 conclave. Just so I could keep a barely equipped sentinel so I could keep my ammo supply up.

If it was not for that conclave rating I would of been able to bring in gear that could of you know... actually gotten EXP from the run.

Yeah it's almost like that was the point.

That aside, you're still right about people bringing in one OP weapon and nothing else.

  8. I think it was a step in the right direction, but it wasn't refined enough.

The idea of limiting your loadout is a nice way of adding challenge, but the conclave rating system is far from perfect. As others have said, instead of having to carefully choose what mods to use, they can simply use one powerful gun and unequip everything else. On top of this, warframe abilities aren't affected, meaning vortex/chaos/hall of mirrors/rhino stomp/etc etc etc. are all just as powerful as they would ever be.

A better way to add challenge to the game, in my opinion, would be similar to another short event we had in the past (that I can't remember atm). It was one where the only change to the enemies were they they output a lot more damage. They could still be killed just as easily, but they could now kill you very fast, so you had to think about how you would take out a room instead of charge through spamming abilities. If this were to be combined with a more detailed conclave system that looks at abilities and mods, then I think we could really be on to something.

  9. Watch the entire video. My god, I haven't laughed this hard in a while, I hope the rest of this youtuber's videos are absolute gold too.

edit: Oh my god it's the same guy that did the epic moonlight threshcone trailer.

  10. If you want to play Warframe completely for free, you are expected to put some effort in to get what you want. As mentioned above, this game is pay for convenience. In effect, you could reach mastery rank 16 and have a very powerful loadout with just the starting amount of slots. If you want more slots, there are many alternatives to paying for them. Not only do you START with platinum already in your account, you can earn in-game items and trade them to other players (as already mentioned). On top of this, there is also the referral system, which grants you an additional 2 weapon slots and a warframe slot. Additionally, any event weapon comes with its own weapon slot, meaning if you don't like it, you can sell it and you get to keep that weapon slot.

When a game has this many free alternatives to simply spending a few dollars, I think it's completely fair to have a limited amount of starting slots.

  11. A lot of the time I think it doesn't come down to what people are saying, but more how they say them. For instance, a "suggestion" is not seen nearly as harshly as a "complaint" or "rant", and that's where I think a lot of the "L2P, don't like it don't play it" comments come from. Obviously people make those threads because they want to see the game improve, though a lot of the time to the passing observer it looks like a bait thread.

  12. I wonder, is anyone else here Apatheist? I guess it would be a branch off from Atheism/Agnosticism, but basically it means that whether the existence of Gods were to be proven or disproven, there really wouldn't be any affect on your life or how you act (i.e. Apathy - est). I sometimes feel a lot of Atheists are really Apatheists but they just don't know about it.
