That's not a valid defense of your posts. I hate to be that guy, so I'm even gonna give you the benefit of the doubt as far as whether or not you're lying about having a disorder, but even after you've explained things, your posts still can't stand up to examination.

That's one way of interpreting it, but remember what I said about fan theories? Your explanation causes a contradiction to something that we've been shown in game, that warframes have a degree of sentience, while the more conventional explanation of it being a case of a feral prototype creates no such problems.

Now if you'll excuse me, I think this is the part where I look up those threads I mentioned to serve as examples of how one's personal interpretation of the lore means pretty much nothing.

If I honestly knew how to explain what I'm trying to say better I would instead of just having people bash me on how I'm not able to explain it well enough.

Honestly I see your point the right half looks like a dress skirt or mini dress looks skin tight because he seems oddly muscular… like a drag queen. The contrast of muscles in a dress that you don't see often. Some people are overly sensitive with your discription. Maybe cross dresser would be the right term?

The left makes look like he may not have a left leg.

He does come off very feminine, almost a Greco- geisha… maybe that's what the artist was going for.

It might look a lot better in game though.

The hole left side is just defying gravity, lol

That's why I changed drag queen to skimpy dress since it looks like it shrank in a washing machine. Just the drawing kills the whole image of Ballas, though it seems I'm just the weird one to think that.

Fair enough, I've heard that explanation elsewhere, and it makes sense.

    Right, then.

So, time to break this one apart.

    Ballas
From what we know so far, the concept art of him is from no particular point in time, past or present. I theorize that it's supposed to be Ballas post-collapse, since he is described as being, essentially, divinely beautiful. His symmetry is nonexistent, and his body seems augmented, suggesting that he had to go against his Orokin vanity to survive. Beyond that, we know nothing -- it is, after all, concept art.

    The Sentience of Warframes
Here's a rabbit hole we could travel down for the next week... As peterc3 stated above me, Rhino Prime codex entry indicates that the Warframes, or at least their precursors, possessed a rudimentary intelligence, enough to react with no controlling entity. As of The Second Dream, we have seen our frames do something similar -- reacting, without an outside force, to act in self-preservation / to protect the Operator. As for them being alive, of course they would be alive. The Orokin had laws against non-biological tech, hence the meat-walls, and the fact that Ordis, and possibly all other Cephalons, were once living beings. Hence why they opposed the precursors to the Sentient being used to colonize Tau.

That should be everything covered. Please let me know if I forget something.

With Rhino's lore that's about the Operators being rushed into transference by the Orokin and went insane for a bit. Which is why rhino ends up stopping infront of the Tenno and starts to look at it's hands and coming Tenno coming back to their senses.

Second dream if you notice the warframe lights up just like when an Operator gives it power to start up. Which it does that before it starts to move, which could hint that another Operator could have taken over that. Though most likely you will dismiss that theory.

    Such as?

They're still constructing the lore, so a fair bit of the older stuff (such as any real connection to Dark Sector) got straight up retcon'd, which is to say that it is no longer considered part of the canonical timeline/continuity/whatever.

And aside from that we never really had much more than assumptions or inferences we made based on one thing or another, which of course were never official.

Except the codex entries, all of which still fit completely into canon last I checked, and in some cases even hint as to how long some developments have been in coming (Rhino Prime codex, Ember Prime codex, and probably a couple others I'm forgetting.).

So in light of that, and the fact that you've not provided any examples to lend your criticism some context, I've inferred that you mistook fan theories for the actual continuity and are mad that they conflict with the official lore. I could link you to some threads where people felt violated enough to complain on these forums about the lore not meeting their exact demands or theories, just to give you an idea of what you're about to bring upon yourself if that's indeed the case.

It was presumptuous of you to assume that anyone had any idea what you were talking about.

First, there isn't any established lore on how the Orokin Executors themselves looked, and concept art is just that: a concept, as in, not the final iteration.

Secondly, Warframes blurring the line between machine and some sort of animal has been hinted at for at least as long as the Rhino Prime codex has been a thing.

I'm not the greatest at explaining things due to my learning disorder so sorry about that. Thank you for making me feel worse about my disorder.

The Ballas concept drawing is very clearly sourcing quite blatantly from Ancient Greek & Roman styles. I like that, it gives him a sort of Emperor-like imposing feel regardless of how he actually fit into Orokin society in his heyday.

The skirt, however, is obvious (IMO) in it's shendyt inspiration. For those who didn't wonder what the Ancient Egyptians called their clothes, a shendyt is the skirt-like/kilt-like garment they wore. I dig it.

The shendyt wasn't super skin tight on them. If you put someone like margulis in the same clothes, yeah that changes the picture a bit on how skimpy it is. Though most would probably want to see that for other reasons.

I still care about the lore. There are so many missing threads, so many unknowns, that I can't help but be fascinated by the lore. The contradictions are something I'm willing to chalk up to the game still technically being in beta. Well, some of them, anyways, like the Valkyr / Valkyr Prime one.

Some context would be nice, indeed.

    read it again.

  7. Do you even care if the lore even makes sense or fits with the other lore that's already in the game? For instance, like anything related to Ballas's concept art that doesn't match anything in the lore. Then along with the warframes having their own self awareness and being alive. Just some examples, not aiming at those specifically.

What lore are you referring to? We have zero lore on how the Orokin look. Anything you say regarding the concept "not fitting lore," "not matching the voice," or "not looking beautiful," is frankly insipid. We know nothing. And frankly, I'd rather have this, than generic-angelic-character-#357778.

    Also:

They've described the Orokin in different parts, someone has already posted one of the descriptions of it.

Hence "And anyways it's moot since he's not from ancient Greece, nor is he wearing an ancient Greek toga" he's from the Orokin era, wearing Orokin fashion, honestly his clothes don't bother me in the slightest.

As for the juxtaposition between his voice and his general appearance, I think it's 100% intentional. We don't know yet why he looks the way he does, or in what part of the time line or anything. Personally, I don't think his blue skin and stretched arm are what the orokin would consider beautiful, my guess is this is what he's been doing to himself survive all this time.

If they can make his body features fit the lore in some way I can live with that. But I can't respect the character when he's in a skin tight dress like that, margulis outfit isn't ridiculous like that. If they did put her in something like that, I wouldn't honestly dislike her character.

They said that's where ancient healers came from. I doubt toxics or disruptors also came from healers. Also we don't know if Ballas has any powers or not.

True but the codex it comes from says corrupted ancients. You just have to read the codex or I'll try to only put the part talking about it.

"A mess of figures shambled forth. These were different, bigger and slower. I could feel my sister in there somehow, it was so strong. The Moas opened fire. I wanted to tell them to stop but how could I? I felt plasma beams burn the creatures and then I felt Remballa heal them. Why? Multiple connections now, I felt her many times over, it didn’t make sense, until it did; she was those things, all of them. They took our fire and kept coming. I felt her, no them, shudder as bullets ripped through flesh and then as flesh was made new again. They were Lorist Infested, my sister the healer, remade as monster and here to kill us."

For one thing, there are many different types of greek garb, ranging from aristocratic full togas, to "I'm wearing some cloth, what more do you want?"

And anyways it's moot since he's not from ancient Greece, nor is he wearing an ancient Greek toga.

Also, ignoring togas, perceptions of masculine/feminine fashion in general has repeatedly changed over the course of history, Pink used to be mainly masculine, as was eyeliner, high heeled shoes, ect.

Those are still not skin tight or look weird. So you picture ballas in a mini skin tight dress every time he talks? I would dislike it even if they had margulis in some skin tight mini dress.

I mean, Warframe loves using past ideas/ concepts for the future. Like the japanese decorations in our dojo's and such. Mainly dresses were used alot for higher powers in greece and such (don't quote me on that because I could be remembering something false from a move or something lol) And the fine cloth/ fabrics that the dress used represented wealth/ power. So I think it does a good job, but it looks very weird lmao

Would be awesome to see him wearing something like ancient greeks and it being baggy like in this picture.

But those boots and skin tight mini dress doesn't look awesome and can't take it seriously.

Because the lore is telling us about the past. Even within the lore you read stories about surviving Orokin not resembling their pristine selves, any more. If the lore suddenly doesn't matter because a current form of Ballas doesn't resemble it then I think the point of lore has gone above your head a bit.

So you want to see Ballas parading around in a skin tight mini dress?

  14. Just now, StryfeXD said:

I think they were going for more of a creepy design for ballas. The concept almost reminds me of someone who was seeking perfection, but ended up ruining themselves in the process. I think its pretty creepy tho lol.

I just wish the outfit wasn't some mini dress with weird boots. the rest of the look I can live with as long as it fits in with the lore some how.

  15. 1 minute ago, Chipputer said:

Think of it this way-- there's no reason to have a concept sketch of him if they aren't planning to put him in the game, somehow.

Ballas is alive and will be used in a future quest. He doesn't have to resemble the lore, any more.

I'm happy about Ballas being a live or coming back, what I don't like is the art work of him atm. If he doesn't resemble the lore then why bother with lore if nothing is going to even stick to it, kind of dumb to do that.
