Might take a while for people to become experts given the grind required..

However, those colours are niiice. Is that Smeeta? I have a Smeeta but the tail is different.

Anyone know if the tail is rng?

Both the head type and tail type are pure rng.

I just got my first kitty today. I think it looks beautiful, however I'm not sure if its rare/valuable. Anyone here a Kavat expert?

The kitty is using its natural colors. You will have to excuse my low quality. I don't have a very good PC

From what I can tell that pink and dark purple coloring are not rare but I do not recall seeing that shade of green before. So, maybe?

  2. Both a kavat types are great but it basically comes down to choice. Do you want to help the team as a whole with Adarza's very frequent crit buff or just yourself with all the buffs that Smeeta's charm provides. Either way both kavat are very good for what they do and are very welcomed addition.

not really, its not coming as often as the other kavat cat eye, there are like, 5 diffrent charm effects, smeeta will not use the crit one all the time and still have to use a cooldown.

i had more crit buff from that other cat type then i had with smeeta, i do recall some missions where i only had the crit effect once in the whole mission from smeeta, she would often use instant reload or double energy pickup, or overshield or create rare resource, if she could use the crit chance more often, then it would requier a nerf, and unlike the other kavat type, she only effect the owner and not the whole team.

Pretty much this, both kavats are very useful but for different reasons. Smeeta seems better for soloing missions due to it's random buffs that only effect you. Adarza on the other seems better for team play as it not only buffs you but your entire team.

  4. I know this doesn't seem like a major bug but has anyone else noticed the tail clipping from the leaf pattern tail? It seems to always be clipping through something on the kavat and it made even worse it combat as it clips right through most of the kavat's lower body.

Oh the nerf hammer is definitely coming for dem kitties. It's not only the red crits, the RNG Cat (Smeeta?) constantly gives me bundles of rare resources: "Corpus missions? Have 15 Neural Sensors. Doing Void? How about 20 (!!!) Argon Crystals? You're welcome hoomon." Turns out space cats are not A******s.

Oh, so that's another buff Smeeta can give. I was wondering why when I killed Salad V for neural sensors he dropped 11 for me. I actually thought my game glitched.

Check the Nesyr gene masking kit in the market. That is how short they are. I really prefer the long ears and the medium ones but the short ears are arguably the worst choice. I mean it is still an opinion but i think they are really ugly.

Oh god I see what you mean. I guess mine would be medium when compared that. Sorry you had to spend that much plat just to get one you liked. Oddly enough however I think that face and ear type together might be considered rare since I have only seen a few kavats with that type.

Have either of you seen the Kavat Incubator Upgrade Segment crafting requirements?  You need 10 Kavat DNA samples, an Argon Crystal and a bunch of one other ingredient (I think it was alloy plate but I'm not sure) just to be able to incubate Kavats to begin with (oh, and 100,000 credits).  I don't know how many DNA samples it takes to incubate a Kavat, but just looking at the DNA sample requirement was enough for me to say, "No thanks," to kitties.  I mean, I presume that the required 10 DNA segments just to craft the Incubator Upgrade Segment are expended in the crafting process (unless I'm mistaken).  Say you really want a Kavat right now and don't mind paying for it, you'd have to buy two of the Kavat Starter Packs in the market, right?  One to make the upgrade segment, and the other to actually breed the Kavat.  I didn't see anywhere to just buy the segment from the Market, which is odd.

You can just buy the segment from the market, same goes for the dna. Check under the companions tab. One important thing to note is that the starter pack does not come with the segment to start the kavat breeding. You either need to research it in your dojo (and wait three days) or farm the hyekka masters for the blueprint.

They honestly should just make the DNA acquisition like 90% or a 100% chance. We also need a pop-up message that tells us when we successfully get the DNA - sucks to have to wait until the mission ends to find out.

Actually you can see if you get the dna right after scanning. It shows up in the bottom middle of your screen like when you pick up anything. But I agree the dna rng on scan needs to be raised. You need a total of twenty to make your first kavat if you do not want to spend any plat on the segment or dna itself from the market.

Every major update, DE manages to make that one decision that taints the update for me. No matter how much awesome stuff they add, there's always that one thing that makes me want to uninstall the game and leave. Kavat DNA acquisition is this one's. Considering you need 10 Genetic Code thingies to breed a Kavat and you have to scan them to get it, I think it should be a guaranteed thing, like the plant extracts on Earth.

Would have been better if we could scan both feral and grineer kavats to get the dna needed. You can run so many derelict missions and only come away with one, how is that a good thing in any way? Way too much of a grind in my opinion.

2 hours, maybe about 40 scans, and one genetic code to show for it.  And you need *10* of these just to build the segment?  No thank you.

You need ten just to build it? I thought you only needed ten after you have made the segment to incubate Kavats.
