A system many players liked, it proposed combat against clans, and brought more pride to clans who were able to maintain them. However, due to flaws in the system, and a strong balance issue, it failed out. I'm here to propose a new system, that can greatly improve the clan game, and offer a more competitive side of Warframe. So with a long thought process, and with balancing in mind to uphold the spirit of the game, I've decided to hash out a new idea.

    Node Domination

Name being up for debate, "Node Domination" is the idea that all clans can fight over every node on the star map. Every time a node is captured by a clan, any time someone runs that mission, .1% of the resources gathered will go to the clan reward pool. At the end of the week, the reward pool will be divided by 2, and distributed to the members of the clan equally. Each clan can only hold 1 node on the map, and that node can be fought over by other clans to be stolen. If a node is stolen, the reward pool from which was saved up is instantly lost, and it must be held for another week to restack the pool and redeliver.

This means that small clans can fight for smaller nodes, holding weak ones and putting time and resources in to keep the nodes where they are, while big clans can fight over nodes with high value rewards, like Hydron or Akkad. If a clan invest resources into a node, those resources are used to oppose other enemies trying to invade the node. With the big clans holding the bigger nodes, this also gives smaller clans a chance to fight between their own levels, as the big clans won't have any interest in small reward pools, allowing for a little bit of balance to occur in the fights.

So how do you claim the nodes?

You claim nodes via building a node base. This takes 24 hours, and while the node base is being built the node cannot be attacked. Once the node base is built, you must send troops there to increase the security of the node. You can create troops in the clan for an undecided amount of resources in packs of 5. Every time you send 5 troops to your node base, they stay there forever, until death. Troops vary on level, level 1 being the weakest, and level 5 being the strongest. Adding these soldiers to your nodes will fortify the node, allowing you to take heavier damage from other clans, and still holding onto the node itself.

    How do you steal nodes?

You steal nodes in a similar fashion to claiming them. You send an army of troops, (level 1 to 5) over to the enemy node. The person with the strongest army will win the fight. Once you have won over the node, you will build a base on the node, and your node will be protected within 24 hours of base completion. In this time, it is wise to create more troops for your clan to use in protecting the node after it's invincibility period is over. After the invincibility period is finished, a countdown for the week is started. After one week, all the resources collected are dispersed, and a new week timer begins.

    Known flaws:

The idea isn't finished, and is no where near balanced. This is just a concept so far, and is meant to be worked on. I don't know the exact statistics for how much each node is played, and I don't know what kind of specs need to be fixed in order to give a positive outcome on the clans. So before, the hate comes flowing in, I'm more just outlining what it would look like, not what it would actually equate to.

Sounds too broken. DE you need to nerf this before it's even made.

I updated it. My apologies on the mistype for the attack speed, I also took off the complete enemy armor ignore, as that would be to much. As for the overpowered aspect, I wouldn't call it that much. It's a channel weapon, meaning it drains energy per hit, and if you run out of energy, it will kill you quickly.

9.17 attack speed?, not even the fastest melee in the game with all attack speed mods would reach such number.

Also | This mutated Nikana creates thousands of nanoscopic spores that cling
    to the bodies of enemies
. When a current of energy passes through the
blade(channeling), all the spores explode killing the enemies they were attached to
as well as those in a small range around them.|
So like, regardless of enemy level, attach 1 spore and then channel and boom, the dude is gone.

Sounds way too OP, not even the glorious sniper tigris prime would kill endgame in "1 hit".

I'm so sorry, it was meant to say .917 attack speed. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, it's not that every spore *thousands* would do thousands of damage individually, more as it's a collective damage. I had balance in mind when I made this, the idea was that it would do around the damage of a regular hit, multiplied by the channeling multiplier, to pull out it's final damage. So say on a good raw damage build, it would hit at about 5k on explosion.

  4. Suracyst (Sir - ah - sist)(A mix of Suraisu(Slice in japanese) and -cyst to show infested standing)

This mutated Nikana creates thousands of nanoscopic spores that cling
to the bodies of enemies. When a current of energy passes through the
blade, all the spores explode killing the enemies they were attached to
as well as those in a small range around them. However, this weapon
requires energy to feed it's needs, and if you cannot supply enough of it,
it will begin to use your health. (Ignores 25% of enemy armor)

    Stats:
    Attack Speed: .917
    Channeling Cost: 5
    Channeling Damage: 2.0x
    Crit Chance: 12%
    Crit Multiplier: 2x
    Damage Block: 60%
    Leap Attack: 85
    Spin Attack: 93
    Status Chance: 20%
    Wall Attack: 93

    Impact: 3.4
    Puncture: 4.20
    Slash: 41.5

The damage and cost of the spores scale off Channeling stats, as well as total damage.
Output Equation: Damage = (Attack Damage) * Channel Multiplier

Need concept art, if anyone would like to help.

The end idea of this is to not deliver straight damage, but to be able to hit a generalized area of enemies and then kill them all at once, creating a satisfying experience. Fly through a room hitting all the enemies, then stand looking like a bad*** when you hit channel and all the enemies behind you explode.

    UPDATE:

So a lot of you seem to like the Suracyst, very nice to hear the positive contribution. Of course it isn't fixed, but I'm constantly updating the stats in it to really make it better and more balanced. This is DE, we gotta hit the good with the evil after all. However that's not what this update is about, this update is about the massive amount of concept art that's been turned in! Here's all the submissions since I can't seem to pick a favorite.

  5. A Perrin's guide to platinum:

Chances are, half of you reading this are new players. Warframe, due to recent explosions, has almost doubled its player base since last year, and it's only expected to grow. What does this mean you ask? Well, of course for all of you out there who are like me, this means platinum, and not just any platinum, EASY platinum. Now, if you are a veteran reading this, I'd say turn back now, most of you will know the tips and tricks on how to play the market for yourself, if you're good, most of you probably have a few thousand platinum in the wallet. However, if you are the curious type, or just a fresh tenno out of the box, then we have much to teach.

    What is platinum?

Platinum is the games hard currency. Credits will get you far, but platinum will get you there faster, stronger, and in a more fashionable manner. I like to compare platinum to gems in Clash of Clans. You don't need them to become stronger, but of course they will always be there to help you along the way. The only difference between Warframe and Clash however, is that in Warframe platinum comes from in game purchases, and it can be used as a means of trading.

    How important is platinum?

While starting out it may not seem necessary, as you progress you will begin to acquire an itch. On your chat bar, is a tab specifically for global trading. Players helping players get what they want. However I can guarantee you that everything on there costs platinum in it's own way. Most people will only take platinum as a raw payment, and no, you can't use credits to trade. This makes it hard for new players to wrap their heads around how to acquire such amazing things, with all the little to no platinum they have. As such, platinum really ingrains itself into the minds of players.

    How to acquire platinum

There are many different ways to gain that sweet, sweet nectar of DE. Each and every one with it's own catch, process, and time to achieve. Keep in mind, if you don't want to buy it yourself, you will be trading for it, and your number of trades is limited to your MR. So get to raising that bar. The higher the MR, the larger the payday.

    Method 1: Farming

The most bland but tried and true method, farming proves to always be there, whether we want to or not. If you didn't already know, you can only trade Prime parts. This is because most of the regular things you want to get can be acquired by default through the market segment on your orbiter. To really farm platinum, you will want to farm relics first. Relics are the games version of geodes sort to speak. You crack one open, and you find a pristine prime item inside. The higher grade the relic, the better (and more expensive) the reward inside. Here's a list of relics and where you can find them. If you haven't already, I'd suggest acquiring the Void Relic Segment in the guide here. Once you acquire an expensive prime item, it's time to jump in the market, and sell that bad boy. A trusted website like Warframe Market will usually give you a list of the item you're trying to sell, and what everyone else is selling it for. This will give you a reasonable idea of what you're doing, and how much you should sell it for. Remember, lower the price, the quicker the sell, the higher the price, and better the reward.

Upsides: Precise reward table, easy process, will help with leveling.

    Downsides: Takes a long time.

    Method 2: Flipping

Now before you go and break your neck trying to flip4plat, I'd like to say that you aren't actually flipping irl. Flipping is the term used to describe purchasing an item on the market for a low price, then selling it for a high price. This is usually easiest done with rare mods. Most rare mods like corrupted/vor mods, will sell for roughly 15 plat if you buy them low, and can easily be sold back for 30-40 plat. Remember this is a generalization, and it's always good to know exactly what you're selling and what it's usually prices are beforehand. This process may take a few laps in times for requesting, but it's usually the faster way to get pocket plat.

Upsides: Very reliable, faster plat gain than farming.

Downsides: Requires 2 trades instead of 1 to get the plat you want, requires a lot of patience.

    Method 3: Gambling

If you play through the game long enough to complete the War Within, you will acquire Riven mods. Riven mods are RNG mods to explain them the best, and when you get them, they usually come in a state called "Veiled". If a riven is veiled, you will have to unveil it, usually in the process of attaching it onto your weapon, and following the task required to unveil the riven said in it's description. When a riven successfully unveils, a die will roll determining what happens with the riven.  It will determine what polarity the riven is, what stats the riven will have (2 positive, 3 positive, 3 positive 1 negative), what weapon the riven is for (the real determining factor in it's price), and how high the stats will go. The gambling part comes in the fact that some rivens for certain weapons will go for up to thousands of platinum, while others will go for only 5 or 10. However, buying up a ton of veiled rivens will usually yield one or two really good ones that will sell for a high price. Shotgun rivens are an excellent choice in purchasing, while expensive (at 75 plat minimum a riven), they will choose between one of 12 Shotguns in the game, 9 of which are really good in terms of usability.

Upsides: Could gather you thousands of plat in a matter of minutes

    Downsides: Unreliable

Method 4: Supporting the DE Developers

Understand the DE is a team of 170 people, holding one of the strongest, most invested, free to play game of all time. Rest assured, they are amazing people, who give everything to give us the hobby we enjoy. If anyone gets on you about purchases platinum, tell them that they're wrong for being mad. These people deserve the highest amount of respect and honor that you can give them. So what's really the bullet with paying 20 dollars in a game you got for free?

Upsides: Loads of plat faster then you can farm it in game

    Downsides: ?

Thank you all for taking the time to read my thread, I'd appreciate it if you left a comment to keep the thread alive. I worked hard on this, I'd like to see new players be able to bring more strength to the market game.
