  1. I had the strangest dream ever. So I dreamed that my brother, my dad and I were all driving back home in our convertible with the roof down. It was night-time, and I could see all the stars. Then something strange started happening. The radio started talking about irregular astronomical patterns, and I started seeing strange shapes emerge from space. I could see Venus and Mars very clearly, and they were HUGE. It looked like they were much close than normal. I also began seeing the outlines of space stations, and other stars started glowing brighter. I began to think something was wrong. Suddenly (this isn't even the weirdest part) I saw the northern lights flashing behind me. I closed my eyes. Something was definitely wrong. Then everything started glowing red. I opened my eyes and EVERYTHING WAS RED! Imagine you're looking through a UV ray scanner. It was like that, but everything was glowing red and white and orange. I closed my eyes and moments later felt rushing wind. I was falling. Then I hit the ground.

When I opened my eyes everything looks pretty normal. The sky was blue, trees were green... I was on my property, at home. I walked down my driveway to my house, where I saw my dog waiting for me. But I searched the house, and nobody else was at home. So I went back outside and clipped my dog onto her leash. But as I crouched down, I looked through the trees and I saw something weird. It was a weird mix between a goose and a fish. I went to investigate and it talked in English. It was an alien! It said that it crashed on Earth when everything was going haywire. It said there was no drinking water left on Earth. I looked around, and it was true. I turned on my faucet and nothing came out. So I sat down by my dog, and the dream ended.

    Seriously, it was really weird.
  2. Plasma could be explained,

The gun has lots of solid ammo that when triggered gets really really hot, enough for it to super heat the air around, it also is magnetic so the superheated air doesn't escape (superheated air is ionised so magnets effect it) then it fires from the gun in reverse way a rail gun works, the magnetic field from the projectile pushes it out up to high speed, and bam you have plasma bolts.

That seems science enough and close to not impossible

Heh, that's a pretty interesting concept.

  3. Here's something I took from one of my old threads. Enjoy.

"Greetings citizens, welcome back to Solar Earth News Corporation, bringing you daily updates on Grineer Conquest. Today's shocking story- a widespread rebellion on Saturn. What could this mean for the lives of civilians all across Saturn? Furthermore, what can this mean for life in the heart of the Grineer Empire?

"Roughly fourteen hours ago (London Area Earth Time), there was an alleged terrorist attack in the capitol building of the well known Saturn space port of Anthe. The primary suspect is a Corpus-aligned crewman under the alias of Siero Tana. Speculated to be serving aboard the Corpus mining vessel, The Sceptre.

"We now go live to Grineer Military Lieutenant Cadan Vookto. He and his squad were stationed at Anthe, not far from the attack when it happened. Fortunately he got there in time to give chase to Tana and his acquaintances, capturing one of the four and wounding another. They plan to interrogate the captured terrorist who has been confirmed to be an Ex-Grineer marine, now living as a relatively poor civilian. Vookto, do you have anything to say about the events that have passed today?"

"Today's events have shown that there are still enemies out there. While the attack today has had a big effect on the population of Anthe, and no doubt many other civilians under Grineer reign, we aren't willing to give up this easy. We urge that anybody who may have possible leads on the situation reports to the Grineer embassy in Anthe at once so we can take control of the situation and track down Tana and any who help him. In order to ensure the safety of all, we will be patrolling Saturn space for Tana. We have also placed a temporary ban on any Corpus ships from entering Grineer space ports. We hope that this situation will be remedied quickly so we can reestablish trade routes with the Corpus. Be vigilant, and report any suspicious activities or figures immediately.

"Be assured that all measures are being taken to provide safety for the citizens of the Grineer Empire. Remember- Grineer domination is inevitable."

  4. I think the Corpus pulse lasers need a revamp. Right now they're too generic, too bulky, too slow, and the sound effects are kinda poopy.

1.) I recommend they make the Corpus lasers look like regular bullets, but blue and glowing. Right now they're freaking huge, and they look really generic.

2.) Lasers are made of light. Light travels (obviously) at the speed of light. I'm not saying they should make Corpus lasers instantaneously reach their destination, but just bump up the travel speed a little.

3.) The sound effects for pulse lasers are pretty generic right now. Make them sound more like, well, lasers. The sound effects should be slightly shorter and less "thick" (I'm no genius when it comes to audio). They should also make the sound effects crisper.

And one last thing. Is it just me, or are Corpus missions harder because the huge lasers often hit my shields even when I'm not standing in front of them? Probably another reason they should be smaller.

  5. Comic books please! I would buy :D

Ohh, well written by the way. I would seriously read the comic books of the Tennos

Thanks. Took me a while to write, not to mention a lot of editing. But I enjoy writing stories, especially ones about epic awesome games like Warframe.

  6. The whole thread is bold because when I saved it to google docs and worked on it there, then transferred to Warframe it made all of it bold and wouldn't let me undo it...

    EDIT: Fixed!

The blood red lights flickered eerily, bathing the dank corridor in their glow and briefly illuminating Loki's figure. At his feet lay disgusting piles of dead Infested, their bodies scabby and somewhat slimy, the remnants of their suits blood stained and torn. However, Loki had no regrets. There are casualties in any war; he knew that well enough.

He stepped over the bodies and continued on, past the damp splotches covering much of the ceiling and walls. True, the runners had been a little irritating, but of course it was nothing he couldn't handle. Kicking aside a few mangled chunks of bloody infested tissue, he walked to a bay door and inserted a hacking cipher into the panel. There was no time to hack it. He knew there were still Corpus on the ship, and they had probably called for a backup fleet by now. The Infestation had spread quickly, leaping from sector to sector despite their best attempts to contain it. It had even infected several Tenno operatives, leading to undesirable circumstances and multiple unfortunate incidences.

The bay door slid open with a smooth hissing sound, revealing a horrifying scene. A Corpus crewman was impaled through the chest with a jagged spike and pinned to the wall, his blood soaking his suit and settling in a pool under him. Numerous crimson splotches painted the walls, and there were more bodies piled on the floor. Swarms of Infested insectoids flocked around the room, occasionally landing on the mounds of bodies. A feeble groan escaped the crewman. He was apparently still alive.

    "Help.. me... please.."

Loki obliged. The crewman was silenced, and Loki, after surveying the mess for a while, moved on.

Minutes later, he stood in front of an enormous door, engraved with intricate marking and grooves set deep within the titanium; definitely Corpus symbols. No doubt the gate was sealed, and likely soundproof as well. There was a single, glowing panel to the left of the colossal portal. On it were marked four fiery red words:

    //CONTAMINATION DETECTED//

    //ACCESS BLOCKED//

Loki silently mused. Most of the ship had already been taken, though he knew there was a group of Corpus somewhere in the vessel who were still living. He considered the odds. There could be a defense team waiting to obliterate anything that came out of that door. Then again, there could not be. And as this was the only way forward to his objective, he felt he had no choice in the matter. Loki inserted his hacking cipher into the panel. The door opened with the gritty sound of metal grinding against metal, exposing the room inside.

Volt rolled aside as the Ancient lunged at him, narrowly missing him. It landed, its scratched metal armor grinding against the floor and shooting up sparks. Turning to face him, the monster disclosed it's horrible face, a mass of bloodied tissue and slimy bits of bone bending and sticking out at unnatural angles. It shrieked, sending chills down Volt's back, and lumbered towards him.

A hammer met its face, and the Ancient fell to the floor screeching. Volt sprinted towards it and finished it off with a quick thrust of his blade. He turned to face his savior. There stood Rhino's bulky figure, Fragor at his side, bloody and scratched. Volt spoke first.

"Thanks for that. Have you seen Mag?"

"She never replied to my transmission." Rhino's voice came out deep and gravelly.

    "And Loki?"

"Before we split up, he told me... Lotus apparently sent him to do something. He said he'd be back soon."

"We should probably find Mag. We split up with her on Docking Bay Four, and we were supposed to meet her he-"

He never finished that sentence. An explosion shook the ship, sending Volt crashing to the ground and even managing to stumble Rhino. Mag rounded the corner of the hallway, shooting rapidly at something behind her that they couldn't see. But clearly, she wasn't alone.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Beneath the metal face of his helmet, Loki's eyes widened. There before him, supported on a huge series of crisscrossing metal beams and sheets, was the Lost Relic, the final puzzle piece in the mystery of the Technocyte plague. A huge titanium sphere, etched with deep lines and chasms, was suspended from the ceiling by dozens of wires and pulleys. The bottom of the sphere rested on the series of supports. It was so massive it took up almost half of the room, not including all of its supports and cables.

    The Tenno Capacitor.

Without warning, a pulse laser flew towards him, scorching a hole in a metal crate off to Loki's left. Reacting quickly, he dove behind a large metal sheet and got his bearings. A metallic sounding voice grunted something and several more lasers rebounded off the floor.

    "Flush him out!"

A glowing blue energy grenade rolled under Loki's cover, settling to a stop about a foot away. Drawing his blade, he slashed the metal sheet and kicked it open. He slid through and rolled away as the grenade exploded, shaking the ship and sending shreds of metal and shrapnel flying through the air. Loki pulled his arms over his head and dove for the ground, shards of sharp metal ricocheting off of his shields. Getting to his feet and dodging a few more lasers, he pinned himself behind a pile of steel crates. Several fired at Loki from balconies, their glowing blue lasers illuminating the dark room with flashes of blue and purple.

Loki drew his rifle. There was nothing else for it, and the Corpus didn't like it. At least six of them fell before they heard it; a hollow, metallic sound reverberating across the room. It continued until-

    BOOM!

    All hell broke loose.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

"Mag!" Volt shouted, voice echoing across the hallway.

Mag, rifle in hands, was sprinting as fast as she could towards him and Rhino.

    "RUN!"

Rounding the corner came a massive horde of Infested- all of them screeching, clawing, and biting.

They didn't need to be told twice. As Mag caught up with them, they all turned and ran for their lives. Past crates, dead bodies and doorways they ran, not daring to slow. They were all exhausted and nearly out of breath. The trio rounded a corner and Volt yelled,

    "About turn! Stand your ground!"

Volt  cast an electrical shield over the hallway, bringing them perhaps a couple moments of safety. They could all see the horde clawing its way down the hall.

Mag, Volt, and Rhino simultaneously exchanged a glance. They would stand the onslaught no matter what happened.

    They were warriors.

    They were brethren.

    They were the Tenno.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Infested poured into the room from all over. Air vents burst open, revealing row upon row of Infested. They crawled out of the ceiling, screeching and jumping towards the Corpus.

Loki was not left unnoticed. Several Infested were already hissing and spitting in his direction, daring him to fight. But he was not frightened. Training had prepared him for this. Across the room came flashes of light, products of the battle now raging between the endless waves of the Infested and the elite Corpus soldiers. But they wouldn't stand forever. More and more Infested were leaping out every moment.

As the first of the Infested reached him, Loki sprung into action. He lunged forward and punched one full in its mangled mouth, stumbling him. A diagonal slice with his blade, and the runner fell to pieces. Another slash brought down an Infested behind him. Reaching for his rifle, Loki kicked aside another and scrambled for cover.

Bursts of radiant green light flashed across the chamber as a huge Corpus warrior mech lumbered across the room, mowing down Infested with apparent ease. Occasionally a metal ball would be dispatched into the air, and it would morph into a Corpus Osprey that would hover around offering support to any Corpus allies in the vicinity.

Cables twisted and metal alloy plates creaked as an explosion churned the huge metal sphere suspended high above the battle. Crates caught fire and curling tendrils of fire snaked around the wires, scorching them and leaving dark burn marks smeared on the steel. Loki figured it couldn't stand much more strain. And if the core got damaged- well, things wouldn't be good.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

The level of sound filling the hallway was astonishing. Bullets flew everywhere, rebounding off walls, pinging off metal, piercing flesh. Loud screeches filled the air as the Infested fell under the rain of bullets originating from the three united warriors standing side by side, shoulder to shoulder in the center of the hall.

Over the clamor, one shouted to the other two.

"We can't hold out forever! There are too many of them! We have to provide a diversion."

"I'll do it!" shouted the smaller of the three.

The largest stepped forward. "No, Mag. I have to do this. You two get going. I'll take care of the swarm."

Mag started to say something, but Rhino cut her off. "Don't worry about me. I'll meet up with you two later. Now get out of here!"

Without another word, Rhino walked forward, his eyes narrowed. Checking to make sure the others were out of harm's way, he turned to face the coming storm. Rhino readied himself with grim determination.

"Come on." He said. "Let's dance."

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Side by side, they sprinted down the hallway, cautious of any lingering Infested along the way. When there was evidently no threat, they slowed down. Finally they stopped in front of a largish door.

Mag walked to the terminal and activated it. The door slid open, and together they walked in, guns at the ready. They met no resistance. Lowering their guns, they began to survey their surroundings. The room was bathed in a dim bluish light, but it was enough to illuminate row upon row of shelves, each one filled with Corpus intelligence files. The amount of data stored on those chips was enormous.

Volt switched on his transmission device. "Lotus, we need some assistance here."

Lotus's voice came through, buzzing faintly.

"This is the ship's data library. Your target is, I take it, well known to you both."

"Yes sir." They said in unison.

Lotus continued, "Excellent. Find the datamass, collect it, and get out of there. I fear we may be running out of time."

Volt looked quizzically at Mag, who shrugged. "What do you mean, sir?"

There was a brief silence before Lotus answered. "The Capacitor. It's been found."

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Loki stumbled and almost lost his footing on the Capacitor as it churned beneath him. The room was in total chaos. Corpus soldiers yelled, Infested screamed, explosions shook the room, and lasers flew everywhere.

The Capacitor twisted again, and a titanium cable snapped with a strange reverberating sound. Loki slipped and grabbed hold of a groove in the side of the Capacitor to avoid being thrown off the edge.

As it stabled itself, Loki got back to his feet. He knew it wouldn't last for long, not with all the excitement of the raging battle. Slowly he started the ascent to the top, where he could slip open the top panel and find the core- the Capacitor itself.

Using a cable to pull himself up onto the top, Loki twisted his lips into a smile. The terminal to access the Capacitor was right there. Crouching down, he flipped a few switches and pressed the central button.

The machine flared to life. All along the sides, blue liquid plasma filled up the grooves and etched markings until the whole sphere was engraved with intricate designs and symbols.

The Capacitor started shifting, pieces of it moving into place and twisting to fit. Loki briefly thought of a gigantic puzzle that was building itself. All around him, the machine moved. Then it stopped.

The noises in the background seemed to falter. Everything became very still, like the calm before the storm. Slowly, out of the center, directly in front of Loki, a small shelf rose. Resting on a pedestal carved with astonishingly detailed ivory was the Lost Relic of the Tenno.

    The Capacitor Core.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Lotus saw through the eyes of the Tenno. In front of her sat an array of monitors, each depicting a different scene. But she was staring at one particular one. It was labeled Loki.

Leaning back in her chair, she smiled wickedly and spoke to Loki.

    "Warp the Relic to me."

And back came the reply, "Yes sir."

The Relic materialized in front of Lotus. She gazed at it, enthralled by it, and her expression turned hungry.

The lost Relic of the Tenno was finally in her possession.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Mag ran through the hall with the datamass in her hand, Volt right behind her. As they rounded the corner, Lotus spoke.

"Ignore your previous objective. Loki has achieved his goal. Now it's your time. Warp the datamass to me."

"Excuse me sir, but what about Loki and Rhino?"

"I said warp it to me. Do not make me repeat my orders."

    "Yes sir."

The datamass disappeared, leaving Mag grasping thin air. Volt and Mag shared a glance. It was the last one they would share for a very, very long time.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Lotus laughed out loud. So much power, held in her palm. When connected, the datamass and the Capacitor contained more power than anybody could ever imagine. It was all hers. Blue light emanating from the Relic danced across her face and cast shadows skittering across the room.

She did not need the Tenno anymore. They were nothing now. The Orokin era was at an end. A new dawn was just beginning.

One by one, every remaining Tenno in the galaxy shut down.

Rhino froze, his hammer hoisted above his head, ready to strike. Mag and Volt stopped dead where they were. Loki fell to his knees in the midst of battle.

Elsewhere, the Warframes were depleted of their power, their users placed in a deep cryosleep.

Lotus curled her lips into a smile. The Tenno may have been deactivated, but she knew that one day she would call upon her puppets again.

One day, the Tenno would reawaken. And she would be there when they did.

Earth. Once a beautiful and lush world, it now rots away. The skies, once blue, are now brown with pollution and filth. Forests, jungles, rivers and more once covered the globe...

But not anymore. Cities cover every inhabitable inch of the planet. The parts that aren't city are radioactive deserts that would kill a man within minutes. Bleak and barren, no life thrives in those deadly radioactive hotspots.

The cities are huge, dusty and incredibly polluted. A dim orange light always hangs over the landscape, casting long shadows across the ground. Dust devils constantly swirl through the streets, flinging stray garbage in every direction.

Hulking figures will occasionally be seen through the gloom, striding slowly around their domain.

    The Grineer.

Their homeworld. But it wasn't always like this. Hundreds of years ago, before the Tenno disappeared, Earth was much like I described. The Orokin era.

But for now, Earth is but a shell of its former glory. Perhaps one day it will be better. But that day has not come yet. It will, though.

    For the Tenno are returning.

  9. Hmph. Defeating the Stalker would've been a waste of time.

    No.

I created him. To gather intel on you Tenno.

    Patience tenno.

    I have returned.

You will nev- *Transmission disrupted* Hello... "Erebus." What is this, a challenge? You aren't the only new one around here. Be prepared. Be viligant. Because I'll be ready to strike at any moment.

  10. WOW, I want more stories, you two are great! and that's cool (the idea of a stalker successor) I want to see him ingame :)

Thanks. I thought about this thread being loosely based on the idea of my Stealth Warframe. Hence this quote:

    "Darkness is my ally."

  11. What?!

Someone has taken the name of the Erebus and put it into a Tenno?!

    This is un-acceptable!

    -Erebus

(Erebus is the successor to the stalker. He is also a central character for my short story series.)

The successor? What do you mean by that? Did he train you? Did you defeat him and take his stuff?

  12. Hah.

A worthless attempt at a comeback.

    YOu are forgotten Stalker.

    I am your successor.

    -Erebus

(Out of character: Awesome work man!)

May I ask; who is Erebus? I searched it on google and I found a thread on Steam Community relating to a stealth/support warframe by the name of Erebus.

I like your writing, by the way.

  13. "Unseen, unheard, not a whisper, not a word."

I silently and swiftly drop from the rafters onto the back of an unsuspecting Grineer Lancer. He never knew what hit him. His death was swift. He lets out a slight groan of pain, loud enough for a nearby Lancer to investigate. I slide into the shadows silently, and as the oblivious Grineer lumbers past, I slip out behind him. A short dagger enters his rib cage, another piercing his cranium, instantly scrambling his brains. A painless death. I pull his body aside, making sure it's well hidden before continuing. I slip under a crack in a malfunctioning bay door, and my figure is briefly illuminated by the blood red light of an escaping spark. A Grineer standing guard nearby utters one cry before he's pinned to the wall, an arrow in his throat. But as I move on, I hear voices nearby, and a Heavy Gunner slowly ambles by with several Grineer troopers in tow.

Quick as a fox, I slip aside and pin myself behind a pile of crates, obscuring my body from view. Risking a glance, I stick my head out from behind the crate. Several bullets ping off the metal and I instantly get back into cover. As an automated voice blares over the speakers, I roll out of cover and notch an arrow. I let it fly, and it finds its mark. One down. 3 left.

    "Lockdown activated."

I sprint towards the group as bullets fly past me. I launch myself into the air, kicking a Trooper in the head and sending him sprawling. A land, pull out my knife, and silence another. I turn to finish the downed Trooper, but the Heavy Gunner slams the floor and releases a shock wave, knocking me off my feet. Rolling onto my back in time to avoid being impaled by an energy rod, I kick the Heavy square in the chest, and get to my feet. I dispatch the trooper as he tries to get up. Sliding into cover, I hear another message, but this one inside my helmet rather than over the ship speakers.

    "Corpus walkers ahead."

I turn and find myself face to face with an energy staff, aimed for my head. I duck and jump towards the enemy, tackling them in mid-air. We roll onto the floor, and I kick him into a reactor pit to my side. His scream pierces the air as he tumbles down the abyss. He is silenced as all his molecules are fried, instantly vaporizing him. I turn to see more Corpus running down the hallway, apparently on a raiding run. I can't let them get in my way. The reactor core is my target.

My old friend the Heavy Gunner grunts something and barrels towards me, revving up his Gorgon. As he starts rapidly releasing his rounds, I roll to one side, notching an arrow as I go. I peek out from cover and release my arrow, hitting him in the abdomen and causing him to stumble. Several energy pulses fly past me, and I turn to face the Corpus, who are now engaged in an all-out brawl with a group of Grineer infantry.

Using the moment of confusion to my advantage, I vanish.

The Gunner drops, his blood painting the floor. I drop from a catwalk into the Reactor room. The Reactor Core slides open, revealing row upon row of energy capsules, filled with high energy plasma. I smash one. I smash another. It is easy, and perhaps a little satisfying. But I have a job to do. With sounds of the raging battle filling the background, I set to work, smashing each energy capsule. Soon the floor is soaked with the remains of plasma. I hear guns going off, grenades exploding. The battle is catching up. I shoot the last capsule. Everything goes dark.

    "Darkness is my ally."

Nobody sees me. I slice open a vent and sidle through, silently. Emerging on the other end, I jump to a catwalk and peer over the edge. A group of Grineer amble past, guns at the ready. The ship has been alerted. Several energy pulses rebound through the vents, scorching the walls as they go. The Corpus are catching up.

Over the heads of the Grineer, I jump and land on a support beam. I crouch and walk across it, jumping down and landing silently on the floor when I see a door. I stride through.

Unfortunately, somebody was already waiting for me.

"You cannot hide from your past."

The lights flicker, emitting sparks that sizzle on the cold metal floor. I sprint for the exit door.

I'm not fast enough. A figure, almost like a shadow, materializes in front of me, lunging with a sword. I crouch and roll under his legs turning as I go. Sliding on the floor, sparks shooting up behind me, I stand to face my attacker.

    The Stalker.

I've heard of Him. I never expected to fight Him. He runs at me. I nimbly jump over His shoulders and run up the wall behind Him, grabbing hold of a ledge. Lotus speaks in my helmet, relaying information to me. I hoist myself up onto the catwalk and run for extraction. The lights flicker, and I know He's right behind me.

I see the extraction pod waiting for me.

"When you need to jump, you jump."

I leap, grab hold of a zip cord, and shoot at full speed towards extraction.

His screams pierce the air behind me. He lost. But he'll be back.

The Stalker will always be back.

  14. "You can't run from your past."
