  1. Since their nice intent with the multishot changes just shoehorns people into even smaller selection of viable weapons, I thought I'd suggest some bigger tweaks to the whole mod and gunplay system for improved viability across the board, more player choice and more design space for future. Maybe some day we get mods 2.0 and guns 2.0 and instead of complaining about them afterwards I thought I'd be proactive and give my two cents beforehand!

    -Mod card system-

I'd say the main thing with mod cards is that many of them are very much mandatory*. This creates multiple issues ranging from new player experience to lategame viability. Mods like serration, primed point blank and hornet strike along with multishot mods are a staple of any viable lategame build and you simply can't make the optimal buil without them. Slotting mods is essentially a puzzle with one correct answer (per faction)

*if you feel you can get by just fine without serration and multishot then good for you, you can go back to enjoying the game

    1) the elements

The damage 2.0 did make building weapons more fun and not as set in stone as before with the rainbow of elements, however it still is held by the fact that you need to have several elemental mods in order to deck your weapon for lategame just for the statistical bonuses. Good luck killing Geavy Gunner [97] in areasonable amount of time without all that added elemental damage.

So what can be done about this? Make the elemental mods just change the base damage type of a weapon instead of adding percentage of additional elemental damage. Adding fire mod makes your weapon 100% fire damage, adding fire + electric makes it 50% fire 50% electric and so on. This removes the necessity of elemental mods while you still retain the unique elemental procs and combinations. Even if you still like to have that corrosive + blast build you can, you are no longer shoehorned into it because it adds a ton of damage. Few examples of tweaked elemental mods:

Heated charge: converts weapon damage to fire damage

Piercing hit: weakness caused by puncture is increased to 60% damage reduction

Thermite rounds: increases fire status chance

    2) other mandatory mods

Serration and critical hit mods for some weapons fall into this category. Just get rid of them entirely and replace them with other things. So called crit weapons can keep their crits, increased to amount they'd be when modded with crit chance, but their damage would be equalized to match the DPS of the weapons without these mods. Critical hits would act as a special condition that some mods interact with, if you don't want to use the crit mods you dont have to. It's worth noting that there are several sidegrade mods already, main issue with them is that they need to compete against the damage amplifying ones making the undesirable. With a system that minimizes the amount of mandatory mods these hidden gems will finally get to shine. Few examples of sidegrade mods:

Thunderbolt: arrows have an x% chance to explode dealing x% of the weapons base damage in an AoE

Point strike: critical hits create weakspots on enemies

Hammer shot: critical hits have significantly higher chance to cause status effects

I'm quite certain that these changes whilst radical would give the developers much more free space to design new and interesting mods without fearing that they break something. If you remove the ability to amplify weapons damage exponentially it should be much easier to keep all the weapons at least somewhat in check and in the same DPS curve. DPS curve meaning that all weapons in the game have approximately the same amount of DPS, tweaked accordingly based on how difficult to use and situational the said weapon is. This is a very important concept that would need an entire thread of its own.

    -Ammo and reloads-

    1) Ammo

With damage output and mandatory mods tackled, another thing that limits the usability of a lot of weapons is the ammo system. Weapons like latron and gorgon drawing from the same ammo pool and having the same amount of ammo drops is just ridiculous. Living biotech weapons having to scurry around the field looking for ammo drops for their bullet hungry guns gives me a bit of the same feel as the old stamina bar and asthmatic space ninjas. How to alleviate this?

       1. Start counting ammo by magazines, not by individual rounds

       2. Remove ammo drops from the game

       3. Magazines refresh over time similar to archwing ammo

    2) Reloading

So what happens to mods like firing speed and reload speed, those would be the new DPS increases right? Implement fast reload system. Fast reload is a system seen in other more or less similar shooter games, essentially there's a moment during the reload time during which pressing reload again instantly finishes the reload. A mechanic like this adds an extra way to be good at the game but most importantly it adds a ton of potential for mods. Here are a few tweak ideas:

Fast hands: fast reload can be performed earlier

Speed trigger: after a successful fast reload your firing speed is increased by x% for x seconds

Magazine warp: fast reloaded magazines have x% extra rounds in them

Charged chamber: the first shot after a fast reload deals x% bonus damage (sniper only still)

What would happen to maximum ammo mods?

This mod would give you extra magazines under the new system.

    What about ammo conversion?

These mods would instantly refund you the spent magazine upon a successful fast reload.

    What about scavenger auras?

These would increase the rate at which magazines generate.

Thanks for reading! Please don't get caught up in the details the mod suggestions are concepts, not final products. Obviously there are plenty of more mods that would need to be tweaked for this kinda new system but going over every single one in one post is not feasible. Disclaimer: not all these ideas are my own and many of them come from other fellow community members that as far as I know haven't verbalized their thoughts yet.

    --

Who cares about mastery ranks, what about multishot??!

To be honest I don't know what else to do with it other than to get rid of it entirely. As much as I like the idea of creating a mod that lets you empty more rounds at once it essentially just increases your burst DPS with little to no downside. Its synergy with fast reload makes it especially problematic.

  2.  your post is quite pointless as well.

No, not really. I was asking a valid question, why is the baseline of the peacemaker rank 2 and not rank1? The premise of the post was to bring attention to how poorly thought out this suggestion was. I don't really care what the low level peacemaker damage is but a person throwing numbers around willy nilly deserve to have their reasoning questioned.

  3. The core issue is that players are sick and tired of the grind and the only answer DE gives to them is making grinding less efficient.

You can't blame the player for making the boring, monotonous, repetitive, mind-numbing task last a shorter time. You can only blame DE for setting up a scenario where their game doesn't have an endgame aside from forcing miniscule droprates and farming reputation/affinity. If this game had some sort of challenging endgame that wasn't just "lol instakill mob that has 99% damage reduction and 10 billion HP, hope you like to get disconnected and get nothing after this 3½ hour run, not that you got what you came for anyway". How does DE respond to this? Add more grind, nerf anything and everything that makes grinding take less time.

The only way to have and endgame to a game like this is either

    a) hand-crafted maps with carefully thought out enemy types, layouts, timers, puzzles etc. that require coordination, strategy and skill to overcome

    b) balanced PvP

It's been the same thing for all this time. People want endgame and DE doesn't fathom even what the concept of one is, assuming they are even sentient to this kinda feedback at this point because it's been hammered in for so long. We don't need trinity nerfs, we don't need excalibur nerfs, we don't need more annoying enemy types, we don't need more natural talent mods or tenno reinforcements. I want something to actually DO with my fully forma'd weapons and frames, other than shoot at the same bullet sponge mobs that I've been shooting for the past two years. Maybe then I can stop leveling S#&$ and get to actually play the game.

Also screw everyone who wants to make the grind more tedious. What's your horse on this race anyways? You want everyone else to slow down because you like going slow on the fast lane? If you want to take ages doing something, you are free to do so, my party is set to invite only.

  4. Awful decision. How about instead of this crap you add votekicking to the game and let the players get rid of leechers, trolls, afkers etc. There are so many occasions where I just want to votekick that one idiot who's ruining infested defense with snowglobes, not that I play with pugs too often but votekick should still be there.

    -snip-

DE will not pay you for defending their bad decision (I hope). It's a poorly thought-out design decision, you can't buy it, nobody can, there's nothing for you to shill for here.

do you even run 90+ m survivals just for the max time? you can waste all 4 in 1 run and insta-die

I doubt the person has ever been outside DEAC. Not a lot of the goys actually play the game outside liset or short DEAC missions with their prime access gear.

  5. Could it be possible to use the regular weapon skin for their prime counterparts? Paris skin for paris prime, burston skin for burston prime and so on.

For example my paris prime is objectively better and there's no reason for me to ever use the regular one but I just hate the way the paris prime looks in comparison. Since I already own both of them, could it be possible to use the regular one as a skin for the paris prime? You can already use the regular frame helmets with the prime counterparts as a skin so why not same flexibility for weapons too?

  6. 1. Fixing bugs (includes rework for the new UI so it's actually designed for mouse and not only controllers)

    2. Controlling powercreep

    3. Balancing old content

    4. Burying PvP

    5. Adding new end-game content

    6. Reducing RNG

    in the order of importance

Aside from fixing the bugs in U14, I'm interested on the new boss reworks

They should also fix the already remade ones so they have no invulnerability phases. That crap is just sloppy & lazy game design

  7. Prime versions are just powercreeped versions of whatever gun they are named after. This doesn't mean there isn't powercreep outside prime weapons as well thus some normal new weapons are better than the older primes. I don't understand exactly where the issue is here for you

  8. If your thread was locked or deleted I doubt it was being constructive or actual feedback. As far as I've seen negative feedback threads aren't closed for the pure fact that they're negative. _Nugget's old thread comes to mind as HUGELY constructive and mostly negative feedback.

I haven't made a thread but I've seen many valid feedback threads locked, 'merged' (closed) or moved to a dead forum without actual reason while letting the positive threads remain untouched. Official forums tend to be a hugbox for the devs with no criticism allowed (at least not unless it's HEAVILY sugarcoated) but what other way we have to give them feedback? Unpopular opinions not allowed, shills will kill any discussion here no matter how valid the points are they will cop out the same old arguments and excuses every time

  9. Since they are asking real money and milking real money from every nook and cranny I'd consider it a released product. It might not be feature complete and it's far from polished but it's still a released game, monetized, patched full game. The worst part about warframe are the shills in the community, willing to make excuses for DE no matter what they do. They would honestly support shutting the game down with $&*&*#(%& bullS#&$ like 'devs need to eat too they can't afford to keep up the servers for you' etc.

Snap the F*** out people, I know you have spent a lot of time and/or money to this game and you are neck-deep in post-purchase confirmation bias but try to have at least SOME sense in what you are rambling. IT IS ONLY GOOD FOR YOU AND THE GAME IF YOU QUESTION DE'S DECISIONS. Sure they will lock up your threads and give you warning points if the feedback is negative and your threads will get swarmed by shills but in my eyes, it's worth it. If even a tiny glimpse of sense and reason reach the devs and the shills and someone somewhere makes a more educated decision, the game will be better off

Don't give empty praise and don't make excuses, the dev team is giving the game their 100% but some of that effort is spent short-sightedly in cash grabs like randomized kubrow appearance. There will be only more of the harmful stuff if you never question it and keep making excuses for the devs

  10. Are you serious? You can't level items with Plat. If this was intentional then it was to further length out the needless grinding. This is a bad move.

Are you high? How can anyone be any more clear about being sarcastic. I even used the :^) emoticon, sheesh

  11. Punishing player for spending all that time and effort to get a pet with as flawed AI as any other npc has in the game is kinda ridiculous. All the ways that doge can die and there's nothing you can do about and then it dares to lose loyalty because of it, ungrateful doge is ungrateful

  12. Yup, making money off of impatient 6 year olds is horrible business practice.

They should just give everything away for free instantly, then their business would be around forever!

Only thing honestly worth complaining about is the genetic scrambler and the less than functional solar map.

Keep on shilling even if it kills the game! Make up strawmen and knock them down to seem like the hero we don't deserve here in the forums ;)

There is just no middle ground and they should go full charity if they can't go full cashgrab and exploitative business practices. This game is one of the worst offenders of any actual video game i know of. Waiting times with skipping for real money are mostly reserved for cow clicker genre exploited by companies like Zynga or EA in the mobile marketspace but DE is pulling it off successfully in the PC space and people are applauding them for it. Now they include the ah-so common gambling mechanics of many of the highest revenue per "whale" (term used for highly paying customers in f2p games) and some people DARE to question them in this decision they get shot down by a swarm of shills who will defend DE business practices blindly until this game is just a mere husk of it's former self, 'monetization program - disclaimer: some gameplay may be involved'

I know saying stuff like this in the official forums is smart but hopefully someone will see it before it gets removed and manage to snap out of their post-purchase rationalization bias. I'll wear my supporter headband 'til the bitter end -- "ninjas play free"

  13. OMG, it takes 24 more hours to make Mirage.

Thats an entire DAY of waiting!

    Oh the PAIN...!

    Seriously, get real.

But i want my Kubrow now!

    Now! Now! Now!

    NOW! *six-year-old-voice*

Wait a month, and you won't even remember the old UI.

    Ok, you have a point.

Wish i could turn on the Planet names. Though they DON'T look the same. I'm already recognizing some of them by look...

    PRETTY!

And bugs? The waiting? Had that before too.

And the newbie mods are awesome. Yes, they aren't the real deal.

    Thats the frelling point.

Wish they already existed when i started, took me MONTHS to get Serration.

People like you are why we can't have nice things anymore. Shilling to support harmful business practices is bad mmkay

  14. I have to agree with the OP. Game breaking bugs should not happen to this magnitude considering how much money they are happy to charge in-game for all sorts of services. You can't forever excuse lack of quality control by saying it's beta. Everyone knows we can't expect a 100% bug-free experience and they are still adding features but some sort of small-scale or internal QA wouldn't hurt, I'm sure they could find volunteers to test that things are working just a few hours before they are released to everyone else

  15. this answers nothing.

the thing that ACTUALLY matters is: Is DE going to be in charge of their own company?

Since they got bought out and have to answer to PW the answer at least technically is no. Depends on what it says in the secret papers of course but I doubt PW would have changed their policies in this case and won't milk every drop out of this game before leaving it to rot

I can't imagine Steve being too happy about this either, it's like dark sector all over again

  16. TL;DR: do not log in to Warframe for the time being, thank you.

    ---

DE probably cannot stop PWE from buying it. But you can.

I think this is the crucial first point to start with. This isn't necessarily DE's fault and even if DE doesn't want it, they probably can't stop it. The shareholders decide DE's fate, and if PWE is paying them a lot of money, they are going to sell. They don't care about Warframe or its community, they only care about the capital gains they make on their shares in the case of a buy-out.

This means that we cannot focus our rage and anger at DE, we have to focus it at PWE.

PWE shops around for games based on a number of faceless metrics, such as logins per day, average session length, peak concurrent users, average revenue per user, etc. They are not buying DE because they think players will like it, and will not be dissuaded from their purchase if players complain. Words are worthless to PWE: metrics are all that matter.

Forum posts do not matter to PWE. Complaints do not matter to PWE. Petitions do not matter to PWE.

There is only one channel through which we can voice our displeasure about the PWE takeover, and that is metrics.

The only way Warframe players can send any kind of meaningful message to PWE to have them call off the deal is by causing a sufficiently significant change in operating metrics that would have to be reported to the potential buyer during the process of lawful disclosure during the MNA (mergers and acquisitions) process.

PWE will absolutely drop the deal for DE if Warframe activity metrics falter significantly.

This is a challenge between the power of the community to stand up for their game (by refusing to play it at all) and the apathy that PWE is banking on.

PWE probably expects a few people to protest or to quit, and if a few of us do then they go ahead and destroy this game.

This is the community's chance to prove that it can't be ignored. And I'm not talking about some symbolic 1-hour walkout or a 24-hour boycott. I'm talking about not playing at all, even if they release a massive content patch, until we are certain that PWE is out of the picture.

Everyone who logs in to Warframe, for whatever purpose, is currently supporting the PWE buy-out of DE. Period. If you want to keep the game PWE-free, do not log in. Clan leaders should log in, set their MOTD to a notification about not logging in, and log out again.

Stay on the forums, stay active and make yourselves heard here, but absolutely do not log in to the game. Show DE the empty desert they'll have if PWE buys them out and then you can all return to the lush oasis of Warframe once this 11th plague has blown over.

    This needs it's own thread

  17. But guys! It's not like they're EA or anything, right?

DE's an indie company with only 20 people working so they'll get more people from PWE, right?

If PWE controls DE, then Steve can get more money to go into the game, right?

They can make other games better with their revolutionary Evolution engine, right?

They could even make Star Trek Online play like their own Star Trek game. That was good, right?

It's not like they're going to add fusion core packs that cost more to buy than to trade for, right?

    Right?

DE has 170 employees and they got quite a lot of dosh behind them

  18. Quit feeling so... entitled.  "RNG makes me angry because it does not always give me what I want!" = Bad game apparently.

I honestly don't know what YOU think is so broken about this game.  I'm FINE with the RNG, because it keeps ME and other people coming back because we have GOALS. we WANT the shinys. we WANT the things, all of them.  Lol.

Okay to clarify, this has NOTHING to do with entitlement. Nobody ever said they feel like they should get the rewards for no work. The issue is that RNG is the laziest possible way to make content last for a long time. If you give something a .3% droprate on a mission that can potentially get hours to get access to it might take the player forever to get it. It's not challenging, it's not fun, it's not skill based. It's just an unfun grind with no point other than to be competitive in the endgame content where only a handful of weapons are worth using

If you find tossing a dice and getting shiny things for every 6 you roll that's your own personal issue/gift of being as easily entertained as a hamster. I'm sure there's a big portion of  the demographic of people like you and there's nothing wrong with being easily entertained, I sometimes wish I would be amused as easily - I could entertain myself for hours with a candybar and a yahzee set but sadly, I am not. Especially not when there's a videogame I like and the devs are wasting the potential of it with such obvious and short-sighted practices

The powercreep is the biggest issue to me in this game. The game was as fun for me when I was running my first paris bow as it is now hundreds of hours later with paris prime fully modded, tatered and forma'd. I quit the game for almost a year, came back and found out the core gameplay is exactly the same as it is when I last left off. The missions are still just variations of the same architypes and the grind is worse than ever with diluted droprates in void missions. Only new thing I found fun was the zephyr frame and a few different types of weapons, kudos to whoever came up with those, sad thing is that the most interesting weapon is garbage from the day it was released so I will never feel like taking it to the endgame missions or investing my taters into it, knowing that they might release a prime version of it some day that will be superior in every way. I got bored of the game in a few days of less-than-active play after pretty much a full year in developement. I like the idea behind melee 2.0 but it's a brainless buttonmash with absolutely no depth. And surprisingly it took a while to get the RNG dropped mods that enabled the combos, not something that's rewarding in any way. Just grind same kinda enemies you've been killing since the beginning for a miniscule chance of dropping something that increases the longevity of the game by a few hours

Only thing worth doing in this game at this point are the guild events sadly. I won't be spending my hard-rng'd formas on another weapon unless it's a prime, no matter how much better it is than the already existing versions of same weapon type

  19. I think you're being a little too demanding of DE. They're working their hardest to make this game the best for us. Last major update was focused around a completely restyled gameplay element. What's the problem if this update is focused a little more on new gameplay content?

Like Rebecca said they have multiple teams working on aspects of the game, They're working on what you so eagerly want right now, it's just not going to be the core focus of this next update.

I think you are being far too kind and giving them the empty praise they don't need. They are working their hardest to make a short-sighted cash grab fo all I see. At least that's what seems to be the number one priority of the game. Lots of cosmetics, lots of dye palettes, lots of dangly bits and hard-to-grind-because-of-rng powercreeped weapons that you can buy instantly with platinum. Improvement of new player experience supports this revenue model. Don't get me wrong it's a great thing to have a good new player experience but they are just trying to get people hooked enough to buy plat and after that it's good riddance or buy more overpowered weapons. It may sound harsh but there's no reason to believe this isn't their main focus based on what they have done for the longest time

People have been asking for this stuff in beta and they said no and now they decided to do it in a pretty half-assed way. The combo system in melee 2.0 is very simplified to the point it makes no real sense to have them be combos. People asked this stuff a year ago and none of it has been adressed. You can't make a weapon that's better no matter what way you look at it and say it's not powercreep

And not to sound like a complete A******, I gotta say their content looks amazing as do the new tilesets, frames and weapons, but the gameplay itself lacks substance
