  1. Happy December everyone!

Stealth is broken as of today, which is upsetting because it gave a more challenging and interesting way on earning XP instead of spamming defense missions in my opinion.

I can throw a suggestion though: High level spy missions do give a decent amount of XP for each unalerted terminal hack (XP is also distributed among all your equipment instead of just a single weapon/frame/operator/sentinel/pet) but unfortunately not as much as the maximum 500% stealth bonus affinity for unalerted enemy kills from my experience.

Seems that as if more people sign up for this game it will attract both the good crowd of people who just want to have fun, and the other crowd of people who just wanna ruin the fun for others by doing stupid sh1t like this.  I mean it's no surprise that this happens for every game that gets popular and more mainstream right?  Still though, it's sad to see a large chunk of newer players leaving due to incidents like this occurring regularly.  Even veteran players are starting to leave, but i'm staying because I want to have fun even if the world is falling apart around me.

alas, theres nothing we can do about it

We can't...but the best thing to do is take this into light so no one goes through the same thing like us.

If you happen to send a support ticket requesting a ban lift, you have a high chance of receiving this message:

    Hello (Player),

Thank you for contacting us. You were found to have received a large amount of Platinum and/or gifts from a known black market Platinum re-seller, who has been permanently banned from the game for this activity.

Because the Platinum you received was fraudulently obtained, it was necessary to remove it from your account. For any gifts you might have received from the same player, the Platinum value for those gifts was removed from your account, but not the actual items you received.

We remind you that purchasing in-game items from other players for cash is a violation of the Terms of Use/EULA and your account could be banned from the game for doing so. You are being given another opportunity to play, however, because you did not have enough Platinum to cover the full amount that was removed, your Platinum balance is now in the negatives. In order to restore access to your account, you will need to purchase enough Platinum (from a legitimate source) to bring your balance out of the negatives.

You can check your own Platinum balance by visiting the Account Management page on the Warframe website. Simply log into the Warframe site and visit warframe.com/user (you can also click on your username in the top right corner and click on Account Management).

Additionally, we strongly suggest to avoid unbalanced trades or trades that appear to be "for free" as these are often connected to compromised accounts or other fraudulent activity. Unless the contest or giveaway is from an official Warframe partner, you cannot trust where the Platinum is coming from.

NOTE: As stated in our Terms of Use, you as the account holder are solely responsible for resolving the negative Platinum balance on your account.

Please also note that if you have made other black market transactions in the past, future investigations could result in those trades/gifts being reversed, and the Platinum value being removed from your account.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    I sent and got this:

The same thing happened to me! I sold my riven from lanka to this guy you mentioned, the one from Psycho4F, I got blocked, I do not get gifts just because of an idiot who bought my riven from lanka.

Dang, sorry to hear you went through the same thing.  Seems that as this game gets more popular, it attracts the bad crowd as well.

There already exists a system where certain amounts of platinum are untradable.

If you start a new character, you are given "free platinum", and this cannot be traded.

Surely the best solution would be if DE returned the platinum to you, but it's now "Free platinum" and can't be traded, thus removing the "fraud currency" from circulation?

Ohhh you're onto something here, and I like it.

  8. I'm on the same boat here, and if you happen to contact support about it they just leave a long (possibly automated message) that reads:

I'm sorry but I do no understand any of this at all. I respect DE and what they do for their players, but this unfortunately isn't one of those times. I didn't even know negative platinum was a thing until today once I got banned for it.  They're literally forcing players who did nothing wrong to pay platinum to gain back access to their account because of another user's wrongdoing?  What's even more scary is literally when I was trading with the guy, he was acting like an everyday normal customer/player that I would trade with in chat.  I didn't receive a notification or any warning signs at all to let me know that the person I was trading with was a black market re-seller.  There's no indication of whom to avoid when trading as well like some Wall Of Shame post.  There is no "Players should avoid Player X due to Player X being known as a black market re-selller and gaining platinum illegally" on the front page, forums, or even in the game in fact to lets others know that this "player(s)" should be avoided at all costs until banned from the game.  This is just going to get worse and worse from here on out and I bet more forums related to this topic are just going to keep popping up due to other players sharing the same fate like this.

Edit: Sorry, I may have went a little to far there.  No hard feelings alright?  I'm just frustrated right now and had lack of sleep lately so I don't mean to say all of those nasty things to you.  Again...apologies for the sudden outburst of rage.

It would appear that you bought platinum illegally from a third party seller. I don't see anything about "negative platinum", but it's possible when they removed your purchased platinum it sent you negative which flags as a hack to the system and banned you. And the riven may have been one of these "gifts" sent to you from the fraudulent seller and perhaps not obtained through above-board means? Hard to say, but that would certainly explain why it opened to reveal essentially nothing.

Either way it seems your consequences are the result of your own activity, so I fail to see what you hoped to accomplish by sharing it with the community.

I never even purchased platinum for like months now, and this happened RIGHT after killing Vomas from plains trying to unveil my riven which required to kill Sentients. The problem was that the description never mentioned the type of enemy from the faction. So you have no right of accusing me of facing my own consequences of crimes that I didn't even commit in the first place .

Also if you bothered to read, I got the riven from SORTIES as a reward and not from trade.

  11. I just finished sorties and got a rifle riven in which the challenge was to eliminate Sentients. The challenge however didn't specifically tell the type of enemy I had to eliminate from within same faction.  So I decided to test something out to try and unveil it.  It was nighttime on the plains and I decided to kill Vomalysts instead of the Sentients lurking on Lua.  To my surprise, killing Vomalysts contributed to the riven I was trying to unveil.  That's when things started to get a little....weird.  Once I headed back into Cetus I was expecting to get my riven unveiled, but instead I was greeted by a ban warning in my inbox.  I got even more confused when my riven turned into a simple one text mod which literally just read "Rifle"  I don't hack or cheat in this game but i'm pretty sure that players aren't supposed to get ban warnings from completing a riven challenge.  I restarted the game and wanted to log on to try and fix it, but it gave me a temporary ban instead for "negative platinum."  So now I gotta wait till the ban is lifted.

Can someone tag a DE forum admin/mod to just lock this topic and probably take it into consideration for the next update, leaving it at that?

    @Letter13

Also sent him/her a message about it, shame that this thread could have turned out more friendly and civilized.  But eh...who am I kidding...there will always be those certain types of people who screw it up in the end.
