    Dia dhaoibh,

it has come to my attention, that a lot of people misunderstand the percentage mechanics used for the reward tables in Warframe.

The following is an attempt at an explanation based on what I can tell/know about the system, so unless DE has done something completely off, or in fact is using an ecompassing system, consider this post invalid.

So, the mechanics behind percentage based RNG systems (such as the one in the Warframe sortie rewards) are different from other probability based systems, in that you don’t have an encompassing system in which the previous tries matter.

Let’s say you have a reward table with 4 different objects, each having a 25% chance to be given to you. The reward is chosen anew every time, without taking the previous rewards into account. The system behind that is already its own enclosing system in which there are only the 4 rewards and their respective 25% chance.

In order to be able to calculate when, or if at all, you’ll receive any of the other rewards; you’d need a system that takes this into account, so a probability can be calculated. For the reward system though, the previous tries didn’t even exist, and for that matter, the following tries do not exist either.

This is especially true in programming. If you don’t tell a program to build a probability based on the previous tries, to calculate the outcome of future tries, you’ll have a program that simply gives you a certain result calculated via a pre-defined salt value (“salt” is a modulator in programming, used to achieve a specific sort of randomness, it’s used in encryption a lot), hence why you won’t get the results you want, applying your probability formula. The program doesn’t care about your probability, because it’s programmed to choose at the set random value, and not the outcome of your calculation.

Seeing as Warframe is a computer program, the above statement applies. Like I've said in my disclaimer up there though, if DE had a system that takes into account how many times you've already received a certain reward, you'd still need to know its values in order to do exact calculations. If such a system does not exist though, probabilities do not apply, and judging from the experience of others (and my own), the outcome is always different for everyone, simply random, which is why I'm certain that there is no system taking your previous tries into account.

This is the reason why you can’t say that you’ll receive reward X after Y tries, because there seemingly is no system around the reward mechanics that even acknowledges the existence of the other tries.

If you'd like to add something to my post, or correct me, please do :)

    Agreed.

Meanwhile, I'm dancing with RNG as usual.

Really comprehensive, thanks! I want to ask tho, Mind Sprint increases the speed of void dash and to be honest it sounds useless to me since void dash is already quick but now I'm wondering why it seems more useful than its description? What exactly does it do m8?

Thank you & as for mind sprint, apart what you said, it also assist covering up longer distances in short amount of time & If I'm surrounded by too many enemies, I can ragdoll enemies with amount of force applied with void dash instantly to get out of predicament situations & re-gather myself at the same time.

In terms of accurate definition which is not mentioned in the game, I'll mention it below:-

    • Increase operator speed while dashing, improving distance travelled. Animation speed remains unaffected.
    • Increase amount of force applied to targets hit on Dash, easily throwing enemies a hundred meters away when fully levelled.

Hope this helps. Someday, I'll be showing my gameplay on my YouTube channel later on when I get free time to upload it.

It suits my playstyle very well as I've adapted to it by now. I don't need the assistance of Archwing at all as I've already maxed Void Siphon & Void Flow which gives a fundamental boost to recover faster in terms of seconds. If you understand what I mean here.

Like they say, It's not the tech, it's what you do with it.  I learnt it the hard way during my odyssey & still learning as usual as it never ends.

However, every player has their own playstyle with what they feel comfortable & I'm not here to judge them either.

I'm just simply sharing my own personal experience as a Warframe player. :satisfied:

DO NOT start a flame war, this is a top 5 and it is YOUR top 5! :)

Today I just tried Zephyr again in the Plains and made me want to potato her (him? I don't know) but that is clearly only due to mobility and got me thinking that even in mobility maybe Titania got her beat? But I haven't used Titania yet, and furthermore, maybe there are other frames that are good and as a community, we can all share it so other people may also gain from differing perspectives.

So I hope to start this with the aim of knowledge sharing, please try to follow this format and try to keep it as brief as possible :D

Top 5 (you can put it in order or not, up to you) NOT in any order

    Nova

Her 4 makes any fight of any level rather doable no matter who you are playing with and mobility wise she's up there BUT since I'm using a non-prime, energy can be quite a problem especially if you are running max duration build.

    Volt

Shields for Terry, Harry and Garry, that mobility buff and his 1 and 4 can be quite handy in tricky situations BUT a bit too squishy if you are running max str, duration and some sprint speed.

    Zephyr

Mobility is amazing, she also has a really good health and shield pool making her quite tough plus her anti-bullet skill, incredibly fun when you are going toe-to-toe with dropships too BUT I haven't used her that much and just about to potato her so I can't say much, she seems very average but average also means versatile.

No top 4 and 5 because of mobility. Trinity would be awesome and Oberon for just chilling, but Oberon is incredibly chunky and most other frames will need an archwing and I haven't used Titania yet.

So that is MY top list, please share yours. IF using the archwing and spending 3 to 5 per mission does not bother you, then please feel free to share your Top frames but please do state that you don't mind using that resources.

My primary focus is CC frames (Crowd Control) at all times.

As for top 5 list of frames that I used in POE so far till date, mentioned below:-

    • Zephyr, When I started in POE.
    • Rhino Prime to survive better in high tier missions & relax my self while playing in POE.
    • Volt Prime for fishing purposes as it works as charm considering the passive ability of the frame.
    • Nova Prime, I only used since my operator's Mind sprint wasn't maxed, it took a while to reach there.
    • Mirage Prime now, I've already maxed my operator's mind sprint is maxed, I select any frame to go with.

Sorry, I never used Archwing in POE at all.

Well, i hope it wont be offtopic too much...

What do you think about Warframe community by overall? For me, personally, it's one of the best community i ever met... Anywhere, in any game.

Since i started playing again, a lot of things changed. I played like... 2-3 years ago. Now, since im back, i was surprised when even random people in random void fissure helped me to understand some new features, send some very usefull links and things, just like that, i dont even asked for it... Honestly, i never before met with such a friendly amd helpfull people before.

Also, once on Warframe amino, i made a little vote, about nekros prime things. In comments i had a little discussion with other player, asking me why can't i use him anyway, when my first prime, nekros, will be crafted. Not goin into details, i was just about to go to hospital for a (very) long time, just before he will be crafted. I wasn't saying it at first, dont even wanted to. Just he asked, and i answered... Was very, very, very, very surprised, when he just... Gave me 100 platinum, which i know, at least for me, is a lot. I had reall hard time accepting it, but thanks to him i was able to have fun with my Nekros prime, my first prime warframe, before i will be missing. I never met someone who would help like that, a lot, a completely random and unknow person for him. Thanks a lot, my friend.

Another situation is, when i just get into mods discussion on discord, not long ago. When we were talkin about rare mods, i talked about my situation, when i spent in overall 5 hours in void survival, with nekros, just to get Berserker mod, and... Didn't get it at all. How was i surprised, when he, just like that, "throw this mod on yarr face and go to bed" - U're the best, and just proved me even more that this game has BEST community ever! :D

Also again on discord (im sitting there a lot...) we we're talking about primes. I just said that i tried 8 relics with my one, missing sibaris prime part, and all were wasted, without giving it to me. One person just give it to me, just like that again... I dont even know how should i thanks all those people, and i will surelly pay u all back, when i will be able to!

And just how helpfull this community is just by overall. When i many times asked some questions on other games discorda, or things, i was blamed and called noob, like "NOOB GO TO GOOGLE STOP WASTING OUR TIME" and things, but here... Everyone answered my questions, and gave some usefull tips.

I wont count all cool people i met on in-game chat in warframe (pink rhino!) or just like that on a mission (two, awesome harrows, fighting for attention of saryn, u're both awesome :D)

well what do YOU think of Warframe community? Maybe u also have some nice stories to tell, or little things which matters for community to mention? Feel free to share it with us. :3

Thanks again, Warframe community, u're the best community i ever saw and was a part of! :D

(Im also sorry for all my mistakes, im not perfect in english, and it's quite late, i was supposed to write in during a day, but i couldn't wait~~)

My one & only PvE game to chill out ever since I joined the game. Well, I miss old hysterical co-op game random players when I joined, It was quite fun back then to enjoy the content. Even raids were crazy, when it got introduced & enjoying it. But the element kind of faded for me now since I play solo most of the time & at times with randoms.

My best moment was with my one & only clanmate. Classic duo combination of Rhino & Frost Prime completing the last node on the solar express as a newbie. This was an epic memory. He left me 3 years back permanently as he moved on to Warface entirely, however, we are close in real life even as gamers.

I've plenty of stories to share but for another time & also I met many random good players alongside sidelines, sadly, I never saw them log in from past 2 years or so too.  :highfive:

Well, I already move on from that part, I'm heading for retirement very soon from the game as real life takes away most of my time these days & age factors, it's only a matter time to move on.

Like they say, to every ending, there is a new beginning, however, memories always last forever which I carry till the end. GG!. :satisfied:

    Hi guys!

Honestly i don't know if the Teralyst matchmaking bounty are already locked behind a MR like the common bounties but in my opinion they should be.

I don't think Teralyst should be intended for a low Mastery rank. I don't want to discriminate the beginners 'cause everyone needs to start from scratch but surely they have better things to do/grind compared to hunting down an eidolon. I got different run with beginners (MR 7,10 or 11) and this is the outcome:

      Reveal hidden contents

    HEFR0Lm.jpg

This could be a little stressfull... what do you think guys? Let me know and please keep this topic civil :)

Honestly, Sir, the pressure is quite intense if you understand what I mean here, you trying to put me in a tough spot to give an opinion. :nerd:

My practices are over though, so I'm moving on to qualification session (It is true, life is full of surprises) ;)

    Main point:-

Well, instead of MR, they should be locked if they haven't got maxed mods installed in their build is the way to go which I believe should exist in fair play as new players don't that at all.

At the end of the day, DE decides how to go way about it as they feel like, knowing them so far till date. :satisfied:

That's all I wanted to say as per my personal opinion.

Need a clock to see if i'm wasting my time going to the plains for teralyst hunting. I know waste is a strong word but trying to leave the plains is a pain when you have a group and i don't like leaving if i'm a host since host migration tends to hurt the other 3 players. But the plains really needs a clock. That's in game not on a website. I know about it.

    Indeed.

Felt lost many times in PoE. Hopefully to see it soon.

For DE's target audience to be new players. Why increase the MR of potentially fun weapons? Why leave the early game in an informative mess of "figure it out for yourself" or "Go ask a veteran player for helpful tips on how to play warframe"? If DE wants to focus on new players, fix the early game. Give them actual tutorials on how to mods against enemy armor/shields. And most importantly, tie in warframe events with player progression. Example: Operation: Breeding Grounds, False Profit, Mutalist Incursions. All stuff I and many others never got to play.

First of all, I concur with your opinion here not that I'm overlooking on it because I've been in that spot thinking a long time ago, for your information.

Perhaps, if I understand correctly, DE style of creating game & what I've seen so far till now. They want to be authentic rather than copy other typical developers out there of doing it which I see it very often & being self-aware, it doesn't come easy towards their target audience. Remember, it's a possibility of following their own path of creating games as a human being that they feel convient as per their own desire & respect them for that.

About your questions, I'm not an official employee of DE that I would be taking sides for any matter. I've got a real life as my top priority rather the game itself. I would honestly recommend direct these questions towards Community manager so that she can forward your questions in order to get an official answer/ use customer support or contact moderator in getting your answers for these things is all I can say.

However, lastly, as stated from earlier from me, personally which you choose to ignore me as I can see clearly. You are most welcome to ignore my previous comment at your leisure because I was trying to ease your thoughts which I failed as a veteran & ordinary player just like any out here.

Sorry, my humble apologies for intervening. I've seen many topics as a reader such as these which lead to nothing in fact while everyone kept moving forward rather judge them each everytime is a personal preference given to the individual as a human being.

I hope you get answers personally soon from DE directly instead. :satisfied:

Good luck!, Cheers & Take care. Tenno :highfive:

P.S. I only tried to share as you know from my previous comment & now as well from my own personal experience as a player of Warframe. Peace!

Not going to lie, this is fueled by my disappointment in DE over the raid change. If that turns you off, then this is my warning to you.

As we all know, in late summer of 2017, DE went on a crusade to get more new players to play this game following the release of the Plains of Eidolon update. They were being promoted in Town Square. They got a bunch of big streamers and Youtubers to promote this game and even gave some them global glyphsyet our actual content creators don't :(. Cetus was even put on Earth so new players can experience the hunts and the plains, which I still think is a terrible decision, considering the plains don't really help new players with the rest of the game.

If the steam charts are anything to go by, this was Warframe's biggest growth spurt, pretty much doubling the amount of concurrent players for 1 month. Since then, the amount of players has settled down, but the amount of active players are still roughly 10k+ more than before this time.

With the split in player age, we also seem to have a split in the kind of content the community likes to consume. Of course, this is normal, but I believe that this makes it hard to find the balance between player recruitment and player retention, that is, the game's appeal to new players, but also its ability to keep those players playing for longer.

There are players who still cling onto the days of their +1Hr runs in T4 Surv.

There are players who only log on once a day just to play with their friends in the raids.

Then there are the players who moved onto the plains and with how Cetus is pretty much shoved in front of the new players, it's quite clear that this is the content that DE is pushing for.

With that, we have 2 groups of players that pretty much don't have a place in the game anymore. The endurance runners have been dying off since the relic update. The raiders and speed runners will probably soon die off at the end of the month, and the content that DE is pushing certainly does not please either of these groups of players. Eidolons will not serve as a substitute for raids in terms of teamwork and communication and these "endless but timed," "cooperative but soloable" Dark Sectors will certainly not work as a substitute for either of them.

So we seem to have a predicament here. While DE is too busy focusing on recruiting new players, they seem to have forgotten to pay respect to all of the older players that have allowed them to get this far. It doesn't do DE any good recruiting new players if just as many players are leaving. New player experience doesn't mean anything if all they experience as an older player is the same thing as they did 3 months ago.

My first two examples are mostly made up of players that were here before DE started pushing the Plains onto the game. Granted, you can argue that these players just need to learn to adapt along an ever evolving game and that whatever DE does will never please everyone. But that's the thing, these players live and die because they found something within in the game to be passionate in. They continued to play for years on end because they had content that kept them coming back. When DE outright removes that piece of content or reworks it off of the face of the Earth, then no one wins.

I can understand taking 1 step back to take 2 steps forward. What I can't understand is how, even if DE puts 0 attention to the raids, they view the outright removal of Raids as the best course of action. What I can't understand is even though Conclave gets fixes every single update, it's the raids that get axed for "maintenance" when they probably get 1-2 bug fixes a month (I checked up to November).

I might be biased or something, but I don't think marketing the game towards a new wave of casual players is the best bet to getting players that play for years and years. Especially since what those players could expect at end game is the exact same thing that greeted them as new players.

Ending thoughts that probably has nothing to do with the convoluted as F*** post:

Do you think DE should stick with their New player mentality or make content focused more around the older players?

Do you consider yourself a newer player or an older player? Because god forbid, we can't agree on a definition for the two

Did you think my rambling was convoluted as F***?

Honestly speaking as a veteran, Raid with no solo options was something I was disheartened about it which I had mentioned in my comment, when it was introduced itself, apart from that, seeing RNG rolling the same arcane drops most of the time just bored me out as result I left Warframe 1 year ago as one of my main reasons for a break because raid threw me of out solo challenges as I didn't like it one bit personally as a solo player, besides, my time is limited in terms of gameplay as I need to rush & make the best out of it once I've already geared up with my proper builds gradually learning experience I get from each time I enter inside the missions.

    About your question,

If I were in DE shoes & marketing side for the game to grow, I need to look from both sides just like two sides of the coin, it's unavoidable to do it all. In terms of Veterans to keep them busy & avoid latency get them bored out. As for new players, making them more comfortable & gradually grow healthy veterans which keep passing just like the life cycle of the tree structure.

Nothing is permanent in life & we are human beings after all, in the end, not a perfectionist. If you what I mean here.

P.S. Just sharing my personal opinion. that's all.

Anyways, just relax & enjoy the game.

So like hydron farming banshee, yep that's dead I don't think anyone's doing that for lazy focus farming (although super pro-active savage silence adaro banshee focus farming is still the fastest and most stylish/skillful way to cap your daily focus)

but like a few minutes ago (well 15 I guess since i stayed like 15 waves) I hoped onto a lith defence fissure earth. Got met with a banshee, a banshee prime and a mag (they were like MR 9, 14 and 11). And then there was me who was also banshee prime with my sonar/sonic fracture build (and an aksomati and kogake prime I was leveling).

Literally all 15 waves was just , was both banshees just spamming resonating soundquake while sustaining it infinitely with zenurik. The whole time. They did not need pizzas, the thing is so cheap they can just sit in a zenurik cloud and restore it by the time they finish the animations. I got to kill 77 dudes across those 15 waves, only because at waves 5,10 and 15 we didn't have enough reactant spawn so they stopped doing it until everyone hit their 10s and then they immediately went back to doing it.

This new resonating quake augment. I don't like it. It saps gameplay just as badly as it did for hydron, except now it's doing it to low level missions. Just like ember did.

But the original proposed idea of it being a deployable stun field? Why? Why did you just scrap that and then push this generic nuke out? there were so many balance metrics to make that stun field fair. You could limit her to one stunfield, reduce the dmg, reduce the range, reduce the duration a fair bit, raise the energy cost for using it. Personally i would have loved if it was just mag's fracturing crush without the armour strip and with the stun only being 6 seconds instead of 8. It would have fit perfectly into her kit to give her actual defensive cc at the cost of another mod slot (which is premium on banshee since she's already kind of limited since you need augments to make any of her powers worthwhile). Instead you gave her a generic nuke that now starts at a base of 25 energy drain (though for some reason I think it's coded to eat 100 energy then restore 75 back which is really weird). It's just as spammable as every other press 4 to win, and based on that lith defence fissure, definitely lazy 1 button gameplay since all those two banshees did was hang out by the cryopod and slap the ground 100+ times each occasionally restoring with zenurik void dash.

And what's probably worse is that this new banshee meta might work for other lith/low level forms of content (such as low level exterminates).

    giphy.gif

Being a long time Banshee user, I'm not facing issues with reworks that are being done nor it's not my first time either that I faced such kind of rebalances in Warframe too. I've always adjusted & made the best out of it. Literally speaking, I like challenges when refreshing balances are being provided to veterans rather going with easy ones which are my personal preferences though as I learn to solve it like a puzzle & giving up just like that is not my version of playing games at all.

DE main target audiences are new players & casual players which is a good thing if I were in their shoe as a developer, to begin with. I have a humble request, learn to adjust & move on instead because knowing DE very well, they aren't likely to paste previous works at all as far I know.

these range nerfs are unacceptable 10m range when charged with stretch equipped and 20m with every single range mod in game this change not only killed the wof for general low level clear but also the people that used her for mainly gunplay and used the augment for cc. Melee weapons outrange this so called  "WORLD om fire". No reason left to use her when low level you can just use equinox and higher levels there are more all around frames that do everything better than her.

This was one of my favorite FPS of all time.  I played Destiny and loved it, but this had something else.  Plains is my least favorite part of the game, and I don't want to play it.  As a matter of fact I don't.  I don't do the missions there, I don't do the bounties there.  It isn't because I don't want the loot, it seems at this time there is some of the best loot available in the game, but I absolutely hate it.

While this could be a rant about why I hate the plains, instead I post--"why this will cause Warframe to end".  Warfarme is awesome, but because of its futuristic, action-acrobatics, skill-required missions set on interstellar ships in space.  Gameplay, weapons, skins, artwork...absolutely fantastic.  I don't want to go to ancient city with no technology and fish, mine, etc...  If I wanted that I would take a time machine back to high school and play WoW.

But way does Warframe need saving?  That is because the Devs keep pushing the Plains, and that is how Warframe will die.  Everything awesome about Warframe is being discarded to work on a replacement for World of Worldcraft.  I don't want to play a terrible game like that, I want Warframe back.  Space Battles, new interaction modes, and I wouldn't mind a PvP that actually motivated players to work together rather than reward individual performances.

Right now the Devs have gotten a lot of "positive feedback" for the Plains, that means the following two things will happen:

#1 The release of an exact duplicate of the Plains except for Corpus, because that is the only race left.  This release will be subpar, and split the small audience of Plains' current players between the two.  There won't be an increase, it will be more the same, and this second one will be a complete failure.  "8 out of 10 in reviews of the Plains" I heard.  This one will be a 5.  And no one will know why, but this is the reason.

#2 A third release that duplicates the failure in #1.  How can the second release be so bad, everyone will ask themselves.  And that is because we aren't listening the feedback for the Plains.  We'll think that #1 was fluke and the "Plains is just awesome" maybe it was the landscape, the missions, the bosses, the fights, new enemies, new factions, whatever.  Any delusion will sound good to justify the release of a 3rd Plains.

DE will have spent two years avoiding new content.  No new content means loss of player base, by the time they realize this, most players will not be playing anymore, and those that "Like the Plains" will move on to the next game which offers a better MMORPG feel, because Warframe hasn't mastered that and the current player base doesn't want it.

Well, since we have to save Warframe as lone tenno.

Well, guess no choice left, I've to go final Getsuga Tenshou this time!
