  1. These packs are so utterly and obviously predatory and anti-consumer, even after your completely tone-deaf "adjustment" that purposely didn't address any of the actual complaints, that it made me log into these forums and write this as my only post on this forum for years. Just to add another voice to this cacophony of displeasure.

You try to do this every few years; pushing new, more predatory monetization boundaries, then (luckily) facing resistance from the community until you have to tuck your tail. The regularity with which this happens is revealing. Sadly most players do not stick around for very long to notice the pattern, as the game has a low retention rate.

For the future I can only hope the community stays as loud and negative towards these practices as it is and has been in the past, because clearly you will not learn your lesson.

  2. Fantastic thread that has almost anything I currently find bad about the new UI explained.

There is one thing however that I see almost no one mention that annoys me to no end, and that is the weapon dioramas (both market and codex).

I absolutely despise the weapons being held by a warframe, the whole thing rotating and zooming in with no ability to control it. You can't even see the weapon half the time, and if you can it's tiny or covered by various warframe bits clipping into it. Instead what it should be is the weapon alone, on a background fitting to whatever UI style you chose, as a 3d model that you can rotate and zoom as you please.

This could be extended to warframes, maybe with a toggle from the current preset dioramas but at least for the weapons this is objectively the better solution.

  3. As the title says. Clicking on "focus conversion" in the Focus menu makes the game stuck on that screen. It's not actually frozen, I can move the mouse cursor and the FPS counter still updates but I can't get out of the screen in any way.

I'm pretty sure it is because I do not currently have any shards I could convert in my inventory. Previously a message box would pop up that informs you of this but it seems to be missing now with no way to get out of the screen again.

  4. I just feel insulted by these mods and by people that feel the need to defend them. I have been playing this game for close to 5 years and dropped a good amount of money in it and this is supposed to be the sort of content that they make for veterans?

I've played and grinded thousands of hours to have the best possible builds, because that's fun, and now I'm supposed to make my builds worse to show off some wacky effects? Then what did I invest all this time into? Not only do I not see the point, I also don't even want to show anything off to new players, it feels insulting. And these mods will most likely be rather easily acquired and tradeable, so they will not even be good at showing any sort of veterancy, which is apparently their main purpose.

What I want is some sort of engaging challenge, which fighting the same enemies, in the same tileset, maybe with the same lame modifiers we already have in sorties is not going to be. The "meta" of this completely unchallenging mode will be slide-macroing through enemies while invisible/invincible again, and the unique reward for doing that will be, literally, a joke.

I have no idea who came up with this idea but they seem totally disconnected from the actual players.

This was gonna happen on Nov. 2 too. Now it just is happening sooner. Pretty much everyone knew and was expecting it.

I actually think this campaign was so successful that they probably planned to do similar ones regularly from now on, probably with just a few weeks downtime inbetween. With this change though...

I don't think this was DE's decision, it was done by twitch.

In that case they'll probably want to contact twitch about this. People having dozens of streams open was what got warframe consistently into the top 5 viewed games on twitch. I mean that was really the whole point of this campaign.

That's cool and all, but you kinda need to use the lures to get the good stuff - can't go all in dps when you need to keep those alive too :P

We tried but it's too buggy to bother with at the moment in my opinion. The lures only work if the host gets them, they get stuck everywhere, and even if you manage to get them into place at the right time the teralyst just bugs out and doesn't drop anything half the time. At least like this you can get 4 to 5 kills every night.

    Thats cool i guess...

But i dont like it, i mean i absolutely LOVE that long tough fights. After u kill it with much effort if just feels way better than just one shot it.

When u spend 30 min shooting at it and its finally dead its like: "Wow guys, gj, taht was hell of a fight"

I actually agree. But pushing it to the limits can be just as fun, at least for a few times until it gets old. I mean this game is pretty much a power fantasy on crack, and one shotting a boss designed to challenge you pretty hard fits right in with that .

  9. Welp, I'm sure we're not the first ones to do it, but I am pretty sure we're the first to record it and put it up on youtube. Also I thoroughly checked the video, there is no damage number for the final shot. I have to conclude that the Teralyst died of a heart attack when it saw the incoming bullet.

  10. As the title says. The changes (supposedly "buffs") to the shotguns done in U17 have actually made the Boar Prime WORSE than it was before. It was a straight up nerf.

I have brought this up in the shotgun changes thread and got no response of any kind so I'll bring it up here again and I will keep up doing it every patch until this is addressed in some manner (either confirming the nerf is intentional or this is fixed).

Here is proof of this by the way:

  11. This is very noticable and requires a fix to either the UI or the weapons, hopefully the weapons.

For example take my Synoid Gammacor with a listed status chance of 70.4% per second. It usually procs once or less in 3 magazines.

With a listed fire rate of 24 and a magazine of 150 it takes 6.25s to empty one magazine and 18.75 to empty 3.

Now I could plug this into a normal distribution and tell you the chance of that happening if the listed chance was the real one but the number would be so astronomically low that I won't even bother.

Something is not right and it needs to get fixed.

  12. Will you boost drop rates to compensate for this nerf?

    Hahaha

    HAHAHAHAHA

I can answer that for you: No.

They make their money by frustrating their players with grind and then monetizing ways to skip it. If the players find a way to reduce grind without paying it gets removed. No matter how much we complain here and how awful and dumb this change is they won't reconsider it.

Money comes first, player satisfaction second. Warframes business model is based on player frustration not satisfaction.

  13. The next PC Hotfix will have something to speak to this directly: with Pilfering Swarm equipped, enemies won't need to be killed by the tentacles to have an added drop chance. Simply dying on the tentacle will be enough to trigger Pilfering Swarm. However, we will also be removing Power Strength mods affecting Pilfering Swarm to balance this change.

Haha, oh this was so incredibly predictable. This is because no one at your company has ANY fore- or oversight. Players immediately figured out they could use Equinox to boost Pilfering Swarm which you didn't forsee of course so now Hydroid has to face the consequences. I called this on Equinox release day just like I knew the new nightmare mod was going to bug out the regular Vectis because no one at DE thought that maybe 1 * 0.4 = 0.4 which the game rounds to 0.

You have lost your oversight over this game totally and permanently so whenever players figure something out that you could not be bothered to think about it gets nerfed.

At least any half intelligent person that cares enough about the game to know how it works can get a few days of fun in before you notice your repeated oversights.

  14. It's definitely there. I'm looking at it on page 3, post #52:

4x dual stat mods, Primed Point Blank, Blaze, Hell's Chamber, Shotgun Spazz?

Ah there it is, I was confused by people quoting my later post before the initial post was made. Thread were merged strangely apparently.

I'm using Seeking Fury, punch through is essential so I can only use 3 dual stat mods, I wouldn't want to use 4 dual stat mods anyway, that would ruin my corrosive+heat setup, I sure as hell don't want blast on it. Sacrificing punch through would be a huge loss of real dps compared to what little TTK I would gain on a single target.

Sorry but it's just worse now, you can maybe put a build on it that has better TTK on a single target but you completely loose out on practicality in real situtations. Taking off Seeking Fury would be a bigger nerf to my Boar Prime than what they did.

  15. It's still there. Threads have been merged/demerged, so that may have bounced it to a different page depending on how many posts you have it set to display per page.

I'd be curious to see what build you're using. BP got a 43% buff in damage, so I'm curious if the decrease in effectiveness is due purely to the status chance decrease. I notice you said you're using the exact same build, and judging by how many status indicators are flying around, it looks like you're comparing a 100% status build to a sub-100% build. I'm guessing swapping out an 11 point damage mod for a dual stat mod to bring it back up to 100% will close the TTK gap by quite a bit.

No it's definitely not there, the people quoting my posts still are and my others are also still there, just that initial post got definitely deleted.

And of course I'm comparing a 100% build to a sub 100% build, the base status chance was nerfed by 10% so the same build does not get to 100% status anymore.

And I have no 90% elemental mod I could swap out. The only mod that I could realistically swap is Shotgun Spazz and trust me, putting in another status mod in place of that will not make TTKs better since the Boars base fire rate was also nerfed and it needs it more than ever. That build got the best TTKs before the nerf and it still gets it now, none of the stats were changed in a way that it would require a radically different build. What worked then works now except it's worse.
