That i cant help without fan art. However, dreadnoughts are much more comparable with Grineer and Corpus, but on a more advanced scale. They commonly use machines and vehicles to do battle, whereas the Sentients seem to wield otherwordly power.

As for the origin story, initially the Dreadnoughts were going to be the result of what happened to mankind, but i thought it would be a better idea to rely on scientific theories emphasizing aliens having highly human characteristics. As such, they could possibly follow a path much like humans are.

That's definitely interesting. I've yet to see vehicles implemented (unless you count Hijack objectives as such), so yeah, something I would look forward to. Will you be fleshing out the lore and units?

They were once extremely similar to humans. Rapid advancement in technology led them down a path somewhat similar to Grineer. They originated on their homeplanat and colonized its many moons. And their beef with the Orokin started when they tried to make that next big step and see whats beyond their system

Lore-wise I could see that happening, especially as it isn't too far removed from what humanity itself has been projected to become in the next few centuries. Though concept-wise, I feel it may be a little similar to the Sentients?

  3. Might want to elaborate on what the abilities actually do. I love and appreciate the poetry of the descriptions, but sadly most people understand best when things are clearly laid out for them. Values would be nice but not exactly necessary at this stage.

I think Famine should disable all orokin catalysts and reactors from the squad they're in.

It will cause squads to become open to troll attacks; not only that, how would the devs code and program it? Why is it needed? How will other Warframes and weapons function without the added mod capacity? Will certain mods be disabled then?

Thats what the 'passives' do. Check the passives note, then the passive effect for each horseman.

Ah, I see. So an increasing number of Horsemen present leads to an increasing percentage buff numerically, with each buff being different for each Horseman. That's a novel concept.

Therefore it would be more reasonable for someone else that isn't a Tenno to use the frame. It wouldn't be a problem for an adult to use that frame because everyone in the Warframe universe has a really long lifespan for some reason.

Yet the whole premise of the game seems to revolve around the Tenno. Infested tissue-Warframe theories aside, I could sort of see that happening, but, and forgive me if I sound obstinate here, I fail to see the purpose of allowing an outsider to pilot a Warframe ingame.

Janus shrunk himself against the wall as he stared at the locked door unblinkingly. Before him, security stood resolute, their depletion rifles aimed steadily at the entrance, the sheen of their black armor daring any threat to engage. It didn't seem real. They had their jobs, but no one expected them to be needed so soon after-

An explosion of mist burst through the door without so much as a whisper. An order was shouted. In unison, the guards emptied their clips into the ghostly figure that took shape, rounds fizzing through its chest to no apparent effect. He'd seen it before. Trapped in boxes of pressurized glass and metal. Folding in on itself, unable to flee the expectant eyes of the never ending observers that scribbled evaluations and theories. The trials it had endured...

For a moment the lithe figure stood silently, almost in hesitation, slowly scanning the room. Janus felt a heavy pressure weighing on his chest as its sightless gaze fell on him. The pain and sorrow of the being within... He had seen the misery thrust upon their kind, and yet this one had no vengeance, only regret. It was not meant for this. He watched as it lowered its head. A low resonating hum filled the air causing it to sink into the pool of fog surrounding itself, becoming one.

The air in the room grew thick and heavy as the mist stretched outward into the rain of bullets and screams. Janus sank to his knees, hands over his ears in attempt to block out the sound. Nothing but mist could be seen now. Swirling and tumbling before his eyes. A soldier stumbled into his limited line of sight, his rifle clattering to the floor. He was holding his hands in front of his face, but they weren't there. Eyes trembling now, following up his arm until his expression too, evaporated into a fine spray of mist, joining the twirling air around him. Janus stared in horror at the pile of black armor where the soldier had once stood.

In moments, all was quiet once again. The mist gathered itself to reveal the bloodless sea of bullets and hollow black vessels. He looked up. Before him, the looming figure stood its hand open, reaching towards his eyes, ready to claim him as part of the fog but... Shaking. It was shaking. The veil of mist seemed to tremble with it. Janus felt his breath leave him as the creature weighed his life. What felt like an eternity passed in a swift instant as the figure withdrew its hand and stepped back. It stared at its own palm for a time then back at the sea of armor it had left. It was not meant for this. Janus choked on the air as its form swirled inward once again. The pool of mist passed him by, vanishing into the corridors.

He fell onto his hands, tears streaming down his face. 'We're all fools.' He thought bitterly. They had broken and twisted the natures of their kind. 'Now we will pay for our greed.' Janus lifted his head and stared at the now barren expanse of useless ammunition and empty vessels, echoing in the drafty silence.

    We are nothing.

Made a few changes but still kept the overall story progression because I definitely liked what you had. :) Hopefully this is able to portray Mistic as more of a "not violent by choice" theme. Lemme know what you think.

Nice, nice. I'm guessing this was before Transference? It was so much more heart-wrenching knowing that that's actually a child, contained and studied by scientists. There's a good balance of melancholy and muted horror as well. Oh, and one more thing, feel free to change Janus into something else. It was just a placeholder :)

  8. Drama aside, here's my two cents on the concepts:

    1. Grappling crossbow.

I quite like the idea of this; I've used Valkyr's Rip Line so often for my own amusement that sometimes I forget I'm running Rhino and Charge the hell out of the poor Lancer or Crewman. Also, I've always wanted to pull someone in close and shoot him in the face while he's being reeled in.

TL;DR, never say grappling is useless; that's heresy to Batman.

    2. Pistol Sniper.

Bulky or not, I wouldn't really mind since I'm not the poor sod carrying it; my Warframe is. That said, I understand you're going for the idea of a pocket sniper, possibly to add variety to loadouts, and I appreciate that.

    3. Crossbow, Weapon type.

Withholding judgement for this because of the mention of crossbow-specific type mods; I'd like to see how they tie in.

    4. Javelin.

This is probably my most fantasized-about weapon (in a healthy way). From what I read, you're thinking of an energy javelin, or hauling around an infinite amount of javelins (I'm currently laughing at the thought of Rhino carrying something like Hermione's magic bag of infinite capacity and pulling out a couple of javelins). That said, if the weapon solely functions on charged attacks, I'll have to pass this one in the market.

    Well, that's all folks.

Thanks for the compliment kind sir, and looking at your crossed out post, and I already understand that you know, but what is your opinion on a living, adult Tenno, in a functioning warframe? I'm very curious on what people think of it.

I believe that in the very beginning, before the first Transference and Somatic Link, the Orokin actually did try stuffing the Tenno into suits. From Excalibur Prime's codex entry, "we built a frame around them", feasibly making Vengeance one of the oldest Warframes (or at least one of the oldest surviving Warframes) around. However, this would mean that the setting of your lore would have to be in the Orokin era, and I'm not sure how you'd feel about that. After the discovery of the Somatic Link, I think there would've been no reason for the Tenno to be physically on the battlefield in their Warframes.

This is freaking awesome actually. I love the setting and the action, but you're right about her portrayal. It does make her seem a little too ruthless when the core of the frame is meant to protect. But I do have an idea about how to incorporate the same result but change the overall mod a little bit. Do you mind if I make some edits to this and get back to you in a bit?

Not at all, I'd love to see your idea, especially since I didn't like the direction I took XD

  11.   Janus shrunk himself against the wall as he stared at the locked door unblinkingly. Before him, Soron guards stood resolute, their depletion rifles aimed steadily at the entrance, the sheen of their black armor daring any enemy to engage them.

An explosion of mist burst through the door without so much as a whisper. In unison, the guards emptied their clips into the ghostly figure that took shape, rounds fizzing through her chest to no apparent effect.

She twirled through the ranks of the Soron, tendrils gracefully lashing out at the nearest soldiers. Rifles clattered onto the floor as they watched their hands and arms dissolve into a fine spray of vapor, their voices hoarse from the screaming.

As the remaining Soron finally broke ranks and fled, Janus could scarcely breathe as the ghostly dancer advanced toward him...and passed him by.

He sunk to his knees and sobbed. Through a glass pane, his bleary eyes barely made out the figure of the ghost in the next room, its tendrils lightly caressing a coffin. No, Janus realised. A cryopod.

He stumbled over the remains of the unfortunate guards. We were fools, he thought bitterly, fools to think we could control them.

    We tried to tame gods.

Something that came to mind whilst I studied the beautiful render. Frankly though, I dislike how I portrayed her as a cold, graceful, unrelenting killer. But that's the way it came out.

  12.   Ballas watched through the tinted glass pane as the boy screamed. He staggered about the tiny cell, spontaneously fading out of existence and suddenly appearing where he stood only moments before. As the boy sank to his knees, Ballas heard the rhythmic pounding of boots on the floor and looked up to see Executor Tuvul striding toward him.

"Bonding with the children, I see," Tuvul observed, with little humour in his voice. Ballas glared at him.

"I warned you against sending them to that accursed place."

Tuvul shrugged. "Unfortunate collateral. As of the moment he stepped on that ship, he was a soldier, ready to give his life for the Empire."

"His life was not ours to sacrifice," Ballas said through gritted teeth.

Tuvul narrowed his eyes. "Say what you will, Ballas, but you can't deny our plan worked. This boy is nothing more than a casualty of war." The Executor glanced at the figure in the cell once, and stalked away.

Ballas returned his gaze to the boy. Inside, the boy clutched at his chest and doubled over, but his own body offered him no respite, disapparating yet again, and Ballas swore he could see the boy's hair growing longer with each passing second. His hands curled into fists.

"What have we done to you, my child?"

Something I came up with on the fly for lore.

B-but...lizards are cute. Like really cute. Feed him and befriend him and tell people you have a dragon and woo all the girls.

Don't need a dragon to woo girls, son B)

Though in truth, in all probability I'd need two.

Maybe you can make a deal with it then. The ones that regen usually take silver.

Alright then. Won't be the first time I had to reason with string. Wonder if they accept bills instead.
