  1. Over the past few days, I've been wondering if I should return to this game at some point. This has culminated into a Steam review of the game, which you all could easily find, but I'll provide a link to it if anyone is interested. It also spawned off a new little list of things that I like and don't like about everything given here. So, I condensed it onto a Google Doc. You may find it here if you are interested in seeing it.

On the same document, I have put down quite a few ideas that I feel would help improve this game for everyone. Plus, I have some ideas for Founders as well, so hopefully some of these ideas can be implemented.

If you're still insisting upon seeing the review, you may find it here.

As a final note, if any of these things get implemented, I may reverse my decision on leaving the game forever. Otherwise, I loved you Warframe, and we must go our separate ways for an undetermined amount of time.

  2. Good day to all fellow Tenno.

Warframe has been a big part of my life, at least it has been over the past two years of its development cycle. I started back in Update 8 in the middle of the Grineer Informer event, and I continued to play it frequently up until Update 11 or so. Around then, I took a break from the grind and came back during the launch of Update 13.

I had fun on occasion, although the game was becoming stale and much too buggy for me. I encountered a wide variety of bugs, such as the climbing up walls bug, the infinite respawn under a platform bug, and the hilarious bug where every part of an enemy’s model would stretch to ridiculous lengths and angles. All of the enemy types were neat for a while, and the refreshing new mechanics that were introduced were rather nice as well. My experiences with friends were usually great fun, but there were many times where I wasn’t able to be with friends, whether it was their internet, my internet crashing, or Strict NAT.

However, my main problems started coming around Update 14. My game’s performance started to shift towards the unplayable state that it is now currently in. It would randomly jump around between two and 30 fps, which in itself was really frustrating. The grind to level up gear and gain mastery rank points became a chore, albeit some of the new weapons were neat, such as the Amprex and Buzlok, but many of them felt too similar to each other (there are too many full auto weapons for my tastes, even with the year’s worth of affinity boosters).

There are quite a few reasons behind my final decision on whether or not to continue playing this game, and they are all mentioned after this. Most of them are negatives that I feel the developers have not put enough effort into.

    • The randomness behind Void rewards, enemy drops, and rewards for other missions was the one thing that I found to be intolerable, especially with these later updates. For example, having to collect 30 some odd beacons (4 or so were pretty rare)  just to fight a boss and have a one out of three chance of getting the part you wanted was extremely off-putting.

    • Any mod that has 10 ranks to it is a bit too difficult to max. Sure, you can play the game for a long time to get the cores to max it, but I don’t really see the reward in it. It’s only a minor stat boost, like with every other mod, but since it’s all spread out over 10 ranks, it just becomes annoying to deal with.

    • The enemy variety was really lackluster for 3 different factions of enemies. Most of them felt like variants on the same concept, like the Eviscerator and Elite Lancer enemies. Sure, some were kinda neat, mainly the Mutalist Osprey and the Ancient Disruptor/Healer, but the rest weren’t that unique. Even the Ai on the enemies was either pathetic or just down-right stupid. Thankfully some of the Ai issues have been fixed.

    • The Orokin Derelict, while it was a very interesting tileset, suffered from a lot of glitches that involved either going through a wall, instant death, or a door not even opening, was also rather infuriating (this hasn’t really had that much attention even though it’s been in for five major updates already).

    • Trading in this game was a complete mess. It was stupid to get any response whenever I posted something to sell in the trading chat, and whenever someone was interested, you could never tell if they were going to respond more than once or twice. Sure, I have had a bunch of successful trades, but that’s only because I tried to put prices on things that were way below what one Warframe Trading site felt was reasonable (if you’re not familiar with it, there is a link at the end of this to the site)

    • Modding in this game, for the most part, is a good system, and you can do a fair amount with it. However, it seems as if it gets completely restricted to specific builds in the end-game. It got to the point where almost every one of my 100 or whatever amount of weapons had one of three types of builds on it. The first build was always the build that maxed out a weapon’s DpS, and it mainly consisted of straight damage mods, multishot mods, and elemental damage mods. The second one was a crit build that was almost always some form of multi shot, crit damage and chance for the weapon type, and maybe two elemental mods if you could stick them in there somewhere.

    • The Warframes themselves are alright by themselves, but I feel as if the animations behind them could be much more flashy and/or elegant (like the World on Fire animation, I rather liked that one). Most of them are just either particles that do something or a small change to your Warframe’s appearance or abilities. However, I did not like the fact that there were Warframes that were distinctly better than other Warframes at everything (I’m looking at you Mirage, Nova, Rhino, Vauban, and Loki). Almost every end game mission required at least two of these Warframes, and I feel as if that is going against what the game is truly about. Warframe should be a gain that allows any warframe to be competent at any level of play, but having only a select few that are just so much better than the others, at least in my opinion, is not a good idea.

    • The game’s performance on this computer was mediocre at best, albeit that is mostly due to my computer being a laptop that I got a couple years ago. This game has even caused my crappy Intel HD Graphics card to crash on multiple occasions, which also crashed the game. I had many issues with keeping the FpS around 30, and with the latest update, the framerate was so jerky that it made me sick. The final blow for this game for me was when Archwing came out. It would suck up pretty much all of my memory (which happens to be about 6 GB), and after about 6 or 7 missions, my game would crash. At one point, when I was in full screen, the worst thing that could happen to me occured. The game crashed my entire system, and to this day, it has not been itself.

So, after all of that negative nonsense, I have come to one decisive conclusion on this game. I am going to officially retire and never play this game again. Sure, I had a ton of good fun with some of the friends that I have made through it, but all of the recent negativity is something that I now associate with the game. I will never come back to this game, even if it has some amazing update that changes everything I once knew about it. I bid adieu and hope that everyone who continues to play this game will keep enjoying it.

P.S. - To any developer that reads this, would you mind closing my account down, if it is at all possible? Otherwise, I hope that this game evolves into something that can compete with WoW  and other popular MMos out there.
  3. Well, this was just a random thing that I came across over on an Earth mission. I'm not sure if anyone's reported this yet, but it's kinda odd.

Essentially whenever I would shoot down the stairs on this one particular tile, a water particle would appear and my shot would effectively do nothing. Here's a screenshot of it.

It's just a minor annoyance, so I won't mind if it takes a while to get fixed.

  4. I somehow managed to just get this problem. It may have started up when I lost connection to the chat server. Whatever the cause is, I hope that it gets fixed soon.

Here's a random screenshot of it. I dunno if it's anything like what you guys have been experiencing.

Edit: It appears that the issue went away when I restarted my client. This is perhaps one of the more strange things that I've come across so far.

  5. Well, I apparently just figured out about this forum's existence, so I may as well do something that I should have done over a year ago.

I've been playing this game pretty much ever since Update 8 came out (pretty much over a year), and am currently at Mastery Rank 16 or so. It's been pretty good fun so far, minus the one time where I kinda burned out and quit the game for a couple months. I tend to speak my mind whenever I actually talk with other people, whenever that actually happens.

Anyway, I've been somewhat active upon these forums, mainly for one thing that I sadly stopped updating (chances are you may have seen it, since it actually was relatively popular back when I made it). I believe that I got into the design council during update 9 or so, which has been a rather nice experience.

Well, that's about all I feel like mentioning for the time being. Hopefully you all are enjoying Warframe so far, and I may see some of you Tenno later.

  6. I just have two minor details to correct for your super useful tool.

The first one is that it states that Shuriken does Puncture damage, when in reality, it does slash damage.

The other one comes to the Enemy Radar Aura. It is incorrectly named as Enemy Sense for some reason.

Otherwise, I really like this little tool, and I appreciate all of the hard work that had to go into making this tool. You (and your team, since I assume that you have one due to all of the fine tuning in the tool) deserve a round of applause, and I hope that it will continue to grow and be even more useful.

  7. It's most likely just a connection issue, where the game didn't feel like sending out the proper level information for Vor. It's not that big of a deal, since he still fights as though he is actually the correct level though. At least, I should know since I've fought a level 1 Vor as well, and I wasn't lagging either.

Besides, he dies incredibly fast at times, even if he's level 50 or whatever, especially if the group has a lot of Boltor Primes.

  8. Hey guys, as the topic says, I received Credit constantly on one spot. I ran a Orokin Derelict Extermination mission on Solo. I also had the _1 issue, just to add that if that was the cause of the bug.

I made a video to show that I do not lie :O

This one is when I started to collect it.

Um, could you make the video public or unlisted? Otherwise, Youtube won't let anyone watch it, and nobody will be able to see the bug that you're describing.

Also, you kinda didn't use your media tag correctly. You'll be fine if you put a /media inside of the second set of brackets though. You can quote this post if you need to see it.

  9. Ugh... I hate this thing when it happens. It seems to happen the most frequently over in the Orokin Derelict. Unfortunately, most of the time, it seems to result in the mission being unable to be completed because of it.

Same thing happened to me on Orokin Derelict Extermination too. I even have screenshots to prove it.

Would you mind sharing a screenshot or two of that then? It would help solidify that this is a bug, even though a lot of people seem to know of its existence already.

  10. What was the room building, anyway?

Based upon the mini-map and the general layout of the room, that would be the Obstacle Course.

I was wall running on the middle of the clan hall in my dojo while waiting for a friend of mine to finishing trading. The next thing I know I slipped through the cracks and fell through the dojo. The funny part is, not only did I fall through the 1st floor into nothingness, but I spawned back into the 3rd of my dojo in a room under-construction. I couldn't leave the room until I exited the dojo.

    Here are some screenshots: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=270587177

                                                 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=270594672

Ah, I see that. My friends and I intentionally do this from time to time, and it is rather hilarious at times. The bug is just, from what little I know about 3-d game design, that there is a gap between the meshes (I assume meshes, but there probably is a better term) in the corners, which can be exploited. It's also rather funny to note that the room is completely functional if you manage to break into it, minus the ability to post a message in it or get outside of it (unless you break through a wall, which doesn't rather work with the obstacle course.

Oddly enough, because each room seems like it could be usable, you could just break through the walls to access them, and never end up actually needing to build them. Albeit, it would be incredibly inconvenient.

Anyway, I have my own screenshots of this silly bug that I feel like sharing. These are a bit more bizarre than the ones you showcased here.

  11. I pray that Google Translate didn't screw up translating your post for me.

According to what you are saying, you seem to be having the same issue that I'm currently having where there's some enemy that's impossible to kill. It this shouldn't even be in the game, since it completely breaks the mission.

I'll do a rough translation again, hopefully it's not dreadful or anything.

  12. This is another stupid mission breaking bug that I've managed to run into. Occasionally, on these interception missions, when finished with the objective, there will be a supposed enemy that is invulnerable and impossible to kill. Thus, the mission becomes impossible to complete. I've only ran into this on Draco, but I presume that it can occur elsewhere as well. Here's two screenshots of the bug in two completely different runs... Please note that I've put molecular prime on it to make it easier to see.

I pray that this is able to be fixed in an upcoming hotfix, since it is so infuriating and apparently more common than it should be (at least, it's happened to me twice in a row for some reason).

  13. everytime i run the void i look for the vault but lately i have no been able to get farther than the frist lazer room after the duble doors you have to use the the pressuer plate to unlock. when i get close to the door it just slams shut and its not open all the way when it starts for some reason not sure if im the only one seeing this but it should be checked out i mean the door was half close the instant slam shut on the first door you apost to go through. pic of the part below

    avvWpHP.jpg

Eh, there are only two reasons as to why that would be happening, at least from my experience. The first is that you are just simply not moving fast enough to be able to get past that door at the end. The other is that there is some odd server lag that is preventing you from reaching it in time. I could possibly be wrong here, since I haven't looted the void recently, but those are the only reasonable issues that I think you would be having.

  14. Well, I was doing a couple runs on an invasion mission earlier today and I kinda stumbled across this little bug. I just swapped over to my codex scanner, and then the thing in the following screenshot happen. I find it to be rather amusing, but it would be nice to see it get fixed.

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=262466334

I think it can happen if you use the regular weapon swap key when you have your codex out, but I otherwise have no idea how it happened.

  15. I found this rather amusing little bug in the Dojo just a few minutes ago. It's a bit odd and it lets you go into rooms that aren't finished. All you need to do to replicate it is to wall run up a wall of the Grand Hall or something and then you go straight on through the wall, giving you access to rooms that aren't finished. Here are some screenshots of it.

Oh, and there is a small glitch that occurs if you crouch while wall running up a wall that lets you scale it to the top, regardless of how high it actually is. I kinda used that and ran into this, so I thought that I'd mention it.
  16. I came across this stupid glitch while farming for the Harvester. It made me have to abort the mission since I couldn't get back into the actual map. The video is on DailyMotion since Youtube doesn't wish to process it.

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x19cmkb_warframe-gas-city-endless-respawn-bug_videogames

I hope that this is going to be fixed soon along with the glitches on many other tilesets (falling through the floor on the void and endlessly falling is still in there).

  17. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the obvious impact damage specialization of the Wraith Vipers, but they do look really nice along with the badge and the mods. Thanks for the fixes and the really nice rewards. ;D

  18. Here's an idea for the reward system for, I dunno, a Tower II Capture or something like that.

Say there is a part like a Bronco Prime receiver or whatever, and give it a chance to spawn somewhere in the level kinda like the plants over on the forest tile set. You could be able to search the entirety of a level, and maybe come across one or two of them at most and get to the end of the mission after picking it up. If you succeeded in getting to extraction without dying and losing the item, you get to keep it as opposed to just having a chance to just get it at the end.

There are many things that this sort of a thing could influence, such as the size and variety in whatever level you're in, the power of the enemies as you collect more and more rewards, and the idea that it could drastically reduce the grinding times for said item or items. For defense missions, a similar thing could happen, but instead of finding the items throughout the level, enemies or a special type of enemy could have a certain drop chance for whatever item you were searching for.

You could also have some sort of slot machine mini-game at the end that has a reel with pictures of every item on it. This reel would spin fast with more pictures of a particular item the easier it is to get. Players could stop the reel at any moment and could time it to hopefully get what they wanted a bit faster.

Well, there's my two ideas to reduce grinding for items and actually make it somewhat interesting as opposed to the standard thing of complete this thing and get one of these things.

  19. Some people are just unbelievable. It's close impossible for Grineer to win - by that I mean it's possible if the invasion never ends for a long time - but they side with them anyways. Wasting time and goodies to me.

Yeah... that is getting on my nerves here. I've been waiting forever for those invasions to finish so I can get my rewards from them even though I don't really need the resources as much as some other people do. I suppose I will start spamming invasions again to hope that they actually finish soon.
